Pelican Place ~ C304 at North Coast Village

Just steps from the sand, this south-facing ocean view penthouse has plenty of sunshine and light! Tastefully furnished with colors of the sea, the living room of Pelican Place will be a welcome retreat after a day in the sun and surf, or sightseeing in Southern California. It features a queen-size memory foam sofa bed, two comfortable club chairs, and a recliner and ottoman, and opens to a balcony with fantastic views of the ocean, sand, and pier.

Relax and enjoy our high definition TV's with cable and DVD players. Wireless Internet is complimentary in all properties. Or, you might prefer to sit on the private ocean view balcony, or take a cocktail up to your private roof top patio and enjoy the sights and sounds of the surf.

The entire top floor is the romantic ocean-view master retreat with a king size pillow-top Stearns and Foster pillow-top bed, luxurious Tommy Bahama brand bedding, and an expansive ocean view balcony with two lounge chairs, and a dining table seating 6.

The kitchen has Corinthian counters, and features a refrigerator, stove, microwave, and dishwasher. It is equipped with dishes, pots, pans and flatware, cooking utensils, coffee maker, toaster, and blender. The dining area seats 6.

As you walk through the staffed secure gate to North Coast Village you are transported to a tropical oasis reminiscent of the Costa Rican Rain Forest. Running streams, waterfalls, lush foliage, and Koi meander through the spacious grounds of this resort-like beachfront condominium complex in Oceanside California.

You will notice the crystal clear heated pool and spa, gleaming barbecues, convenient picnic tables, sand rinsing stations to remove the lingering beach. If you need a break from sun and surf, you might enjoy a game of pool, a jog on a treadmill in the exercise room, a little ping pong, or a sauna. Feeding our giant Koi is a simple pleasure not to be missed during your Oceanside visit.

When you venture all the way through the back gates, you find yourself on one of North San Diego County’s finest beaches: broad and flat, with fire rings, volleyball, and great surf breaks - right out back! Be sure to stake out a fire ring (to the left) for a unique evening beach fire at least one night while you are in Oceanside.

To the north, you can walk or bike to Oceanside’s busy little harbor for a bite to eat or some boating, and to the south, you can venture down the strand to southern California’s longest pier for some fishing (no license needed) or casual dining at Ruby's. North Coast Village is close enough to walk to everything near the beach, so your car can stay in its secure underground parking spot - especially useful when beach parking becomes a premium in the summer.

When it is time to end the day, you will find comfort in either of the bedrooms (plush king or two twins) and if there is an extra guest, they can use the queen sleeper sofa (or free pack'n play upon request for little ones). Both bedrooms have TV's with cable as well. You will find all accommodations to be of high quality. Relax and enjoy!

The Mainstreet Oceanside Farmer's Market is a delightful experience near the Pier which takes place every Thursday from 9-1, and and the Sunset Market Thursday evenings from 5-9.

Within a short drive, visit Disneyland & California Adventure, Knott's Berry Farm, Universal Studios, Magic Mountain, Balboa Island, La Jolla, Mission San Juan Capistrano, Mission Luis Rey, Queen Mary, San Diego State Parks, San Diego Wild Animal Park, Legoland, Sea World, The Flower Fields of Carlsbad, Temecula Wine Country, San Diego Zoo, Del Mar Racetrack, Coronado Island, Oceanside Harbor, Birch Aquarium at Scripp's Institute of Oceanography, Palomar Observatory

It's the only city in San Diego county with a harbor for boating fun, a flat sandy beach, a boardwalk (the Strand), and a pier.

What makes this condo unique

Some favorite restaurants are 333 Pacific, Masters, Flying Pig, Jitters Coffee Pub, Dominic's at the harbor, and Anita's for Mexican food.

Beautiful resort...Views can't be beat!!!

  • 5 of 5

We loved every minute of our stay here. Rented unit C304. Had an ocean view from both balconies. Very comfortable room layout for us and two kids. Clean and had everything we needed for our stay. The grounds are very pretty and the onsite laundry was convenient! Great location to ride bikes along the Strand or over to the Harbor. We will definitely come back to this area when vacationing in California.

Reviewer Comments:

The amenities and location cant be beat. Yes, it is Oceanside, there is train noise, that is the only negative I have. Otherwise, the pool, parking, ping pong, walkability to the beach are amazing. The condo floor plan was perfect for our family, we loved the balconirs and the unit had everything we needed to enjoy our time.

Owner's Response: We're so glad you enjoyed your vacation! Yes, the train is a reality up and down the coast including the multi-million dollar beachfront homes in Del Mar and La Jolla! You'll be pleased to know that there are plans to make Oceanside a "Quiet Zone" within the next couple of years, which would dramatically reduce the train whistles. - The Make My Vacation Team

Fit our needs perfectly

  • 5 of 5

This condo was perfect for my husband and I, and our teenage daughter and her friend. When we arrived the lights were on and champagne on the table which was a nice touch. It was an ideal location between the Harbor and Pier. We could easily walk to both. We made good use of the roof top deck every day. The kitchen is well equipped, however there are no staples (salt, pepper, saran wrap, etc) so bring your own. There are also beach chairs provided which we appreciated. Although the condo can use some updates it was very clean and comfortable which is more important to us. The grounds are beautiful and very well maintained. We truly enjoyed our stay here.

A fantastic vacation at Pelican Place C304

  • 5 of 5

Our first stay at North Coast Village couldn't have been better. This condo was extremely clean and well equipped for all that we needed to spend 7 nights hearing the waves crash as we slept like babies! The master bedroom was huge (bed was super comfortable) and the views of the ocean from both balconies were gorgeous. This may have been our first visit but it most definitely won't be our last. See you next year!

Beautifully furnished condo with ocean view

  • 4 of 5

This condo is exactly as pictured. It is obvious someone put a lot of time into decorating and furnishing it. It is very relaxing to stay in such a tastefully decorated unit! Also, you can hear and see the ocean from both levels. The reason I gave it four stars is because of several details. If you read carefully (which I didn't do before I booked, my mistake), all of the reviews are from a previous property manager, and I don't think the listing has been updated. For example, currently, there are no games or movies in the unit, although there is cable and Netflix. Also, no water or sand toys are provided, which is unusual in our experience with beach rentals. Finally, while the kitchen is well stocked with every appliance and utensil you might need to cook, there are no pantry items or staples (salt, pepper, oil, etc.) provided. If I had known ahead of time, I would have just brought my own. Same with the sand toys and movies/ games. Finally, if you are traveling with young children, be aware that the window opening in the twin bed room is very close to the ground, only about 24" from the floor. In the afternoons the unit got warm and we needed to open the windows to cool it down (and enjoy that great sound of waves crashing). There is a screen on the window, but it is several stories straight down. We have an active six year old, and she spent most of her time in the living room, but it definitely made me a little less relaxed. The stairs are on the steep side, and open, but that was not as much of an issue for us. Finally, you do hear the trains periodically. The noise didn't wake up our kids, but I am a light sleeper and with the windows open I could definitely hear them, especially at night. Overall, though, we really enjoyed our visit to Oceanside and would definitely come again.

Owner's Response: Thank you for your review. We're glad you enjoyed your stay at Pelican Place in North Coast Village. FYI, the five reviews previous to this one were also under Make My Vacation management. The furnishings, decor, and kitchen utensils and cooking supplies have been dramatically upgraded since the previous management in 2012. We apologize that we're no longer able to provide pantry staples due to liability reasons. This as well as the videos and games has now been updated on the amenities page. We do provide Tommy Bahama beach chairs and beach towels for your convenience. Perhaps next time you might want to consider a single-level condo - we'd be glad to walk you through other options that might better meet your needs. Sincerely, The Management
