This 'Tropical Island Paradise' is a great private and spacious (over 1,509. sq.ft living space) duplex vacation rental. The property is located in the Island Village of Key Colony Beach. It's located directly across from the Key Colony beach's golf and tennis park. There's also a playground for the kids and a basketball court within walking distance, in addition to fine dining areas, a post office, and a world class charter boat fleet. It's also located just a few blocks away from the beautiful Sunset Park on the ocean. Cabana Club Membership (Access to a private beach/pool) and a private boat dock are included in all rentals.

Good times!

When arriving to the home we were pleasantly surprised by the large living space when you enter. There was a lovely welcome bag as well. We had a party of 8 and we fit comfortably. Marianela communicated with us on any questions we had prior to our arrival as well as during our stay. The pool and beach were relaxing with great food and drinks flowing (fyi-pool hours 10am-7pm). We biked and also drove the car to the pool, parking wasn't an issue. Docked a 23ft boat with plenty of space with easy access to the Gulf and Atlantic waters (minutes away). Parking at the home was also spacious, we had 2 trucks as well as a boat trailer. This is a home we will be returning to on our next visit.

Nicely updated and well maintained. Awesome location to get to the Atlantic or Gulf within minutes! We had a wonderful week and felt very welcomed. Great communication from the homeowner. Thanks again for sharing your home.

Great location

We all had a great stay. Home and property well maintained. Communication with owner before and during stay was excellent. The neighborhood is fantastic. Lots of things to do in Marathon but Key Colony Beach area was very wonderful. Community very safe. Location was excellent for boating and fishing. Minutes from Vaca Cut. Fished ocean and Gulf. Wives enjoyed great sunset cruises on Gulf side and when we fished offshore they really enjoyed going to beach club while we were gone. I've been traveling to Keys for 30 years. Bringing my boat down for last several years. This was the best place I have stayed so far.

Very arrogant owner

I checked in 3 hours early as i drove by to check on boat location and cleaning lady said it was okay to check in. I also checked out 3 hours early. People were out front who never introduced themselves but had a comment about your a little early . Found out it was the owner. Ist day went well, 2nd day not so good.Owner lives upstairs (which was never mentioned) and decided to dock his second boat 4 feet onto my dock space where his engine was touching mine. I took pics and texted the owner to say Really!! I have a 23 foot boat with a 30 foot dock. The response got was if you don't like it I will refund your money and you can leave. I heard that and I was packing, however was not fair to wife and family. I called management who was a bit nicer and worked out a deal that I move up and they will provide me with fenders to secure my boat. The sad thing is i would have been happy to move my boat up if the owner had any common courtesy and asked could you please move your boat up a few feet so I can fit my other boat in. Instead he literally docked it where our engines were touching. Rude as could be. House was okay, had plenty of room with a very strange layout. No central air, instead very noisy portable units in each room which made sleeping a little tough as well as hearing owners upstairs walking around at midnight. I stayed in Key Colony 5 times and trust me there is much better for the price. If I would have known owner lived upstairs I would never have booked. How this place got good reviews is beyond me unless they were family. Trust me despite what owner has to say on his response. Next time I will be more careful booking. Key Colony is a great pace and I will be back, just not here. Advise for owner. Be nice it goes a long way.

Owner's Response: I thought about not responding to your unfair review, but then I realized that I'm not going to do it for you, but for the people who could be reading your review debating whether to book my house or not. I begin by reminding you that you showed up at my property at 12:45PM which was 3 1/4 hours before check in time of 4:00PM. I ,myself, went out to introduce myself, not as a 'cleaning lady' which you stated. That 'cleaning lady' was me-- the owner. I was checking the house after the cleaning service ended, to make sure it was in pristine conditions for your arrival..I decided, as a courtesy; granting you and your family to enter the property at that time. At 3:45 PM on the first day, I received your first text message: "Complaining about the propane tank". In less than 5 minutes, I was back with a new tank just to find out that the one you had was full. My husband left you a second tank of propane. On the second day, we received a clear message portraying your personality: "Day two and we have problems again, we can not park our boat because you have decided to park two boats in your dock" and some more nonsense. For a boat 23 feet long like yours was, a dock of 35 feet to park was more than enough space. In response to your unpleasant attitude,but yet continually taking into consideration the satisfaction of my guests, I replied to you with the most logical answer: "I can see that you are not happy in my property. I am not trespassing your dock space; I am also on vacation, if you believe that you truly can not park on your 35 feet dock, then I can offer you full refund and the past two days you've stayed would be free along with tomorrow, so you can find another place to move." To which you immediately replied "I can not go until Tuesday because I have to pack" .I replied back to you, "Not a problem. Since you are so disappointed, I will give you until Tuesday free of charge and with full refund." After that I called the manager, my daughter, and she called you back to find out that you no longer wanted to go. You asked for 2 fenders and we provided you with 4. We did our best to deal with you and your needs. Beside your review, you are also trashing down the reviews of my previous tenants, WHOM ARE NOT MY FRIENDS OR FAMILY AS YOU STATED-- . Perhaps you should inform yourself a little better before trying to diminish other human being's credibility or other people's bussiness. Also, a word of advice for you too; be respectful. It also goes a long way.

This is located in a quiet peaceful neighborhood. It’s within walking distance to KC Inn, Sparky's Restaurant and Cabana Breezes (the top 3 restaurants on the island). Bring your bike (or rent a bike) to ride on the many bike paths located throughout the island. The property is close to a Gas Station, Publix & K-Mart for all your grocery needs. It’s also near Sombrero Beach, Bahia Honda Beach, Big Pine Key Deer Park, and Marathon City (which is a popular tourist spot with many restaurants/shops, etc.).
