Originally, a restaurant and general store built in the late 1960’s; this building is literally on the water. The original owners rented houseboats until the chain became developed. Waves literally go under the building and afford you your own private dock as well as a private boat launch right on our property. The old kitchen has been converted to consume grade appliances, but is still very large for a small cabin. The old dining room is a combination living, dining, and bedroom that can easily accommodate up to six people in dormitory style sleeping arrangement. You share 200 feet of prime frontage with my wife and me. We are close enough to assure a trouble free stay, but far enough away to assure your privacy. We offer a flat screen TV, Wi-Fi with up to 100 mps down and 10 mps up speeds. It also includes free use of a gas grill including gas, your own dock, and use of two more docks for fishing or sunning. Lynx Lake is a quiet lake, but offers access to all 28 lakes on the chain.
New For 2017: We have air-conditioning! And, a new heating system.
Rates are $175 per night and $100 per night off-season. That rate assumes you will provide your own sheets & towels. We can provide them for an additional charge. Dogs & cats are allowed for an additional fee depending on the number, size, breed, & age of the pet.

Our Stay was great. Hospitality was wonderful.
The cabin was everything we expected, small, peaceful and full of character. The fact that it was right on the water made seem like we were floating on the lake. The only down fall of the entire trip was since it was off season, the owner had put the row boat away. Guess we should have expected that planning this trip off season. We just like doing these kinds of trips in the fall, when the weather is perfect! Other than that, we made all our nightly meals in the cabin, which included pan fried steaks, pan fried potatoes and steamed carrots the first night, a bacon, sausage and green pepper quiche for breakfast and a frozen pizza for dinner the second night!
The best moments we had in the short time we were there, was fishing off the peer, waking up to the beautiful sun rises and the fact we could enjoy all of this with our puppy. We had the option to start a fire in the fire pit, but just ran out of time. We will definitely stay longer the next time we come! The other nice thing we took advantage of was the WiFi offered. Granted typically you don't go on vacation to use WiFi, but it was nice to have especially when trying to locate certain places of interest within the Eagle River area. One thing we didn't take advantage of was the cable TV. Since were only there two short days, we were traveling all over the area and enjoying what nature had to offer. We liked the fact that if the weather would have turned nasty we had that as an option, but we lucked out with beautiful weather while we were up there.
I would recommend this to groups looking to stay in the Eagle River area (4-6 people) considering the price is a little high for just couples. With groups you can spread out the price a little easier, the only down fall is the privacy factor (open concept, one big room). This is perfect for a guy's trip, couples weekend or just a nice get away with your spouse/girlfriend or whatever! Mark is a great person to work with and is eager to tell you a story or two is you let him. So please enjoy your stay here.
Very quaint cabin directly on the water
Loved waking up to the wonderful views, hearing the waves lap in , stepping outdoors right to the beach and having docks, tables, chairs, fire pit, etc all at our disposal. The Cabin has a fun kitchen that was great to cook in and any utensil or appliance you may need. There is plenty of space indoors and out for your family. I also enjoyed the "old school up north" Decor. The owners are nice enough to take care of anything you might need and have provided many indoor and outdoor games for you and your guests. A good time was had by all!
Great little vacation home!
I LOVED this place. It was very quaint and the owner was very nice. Though we could see their house, it still felt very private. The cabin was larger than I expected and very clean. It had everything we needed. I loved that the cabin was almost literally on the water. The water access was great...almost in the middle of the chain. It was close to town, yet far enough away to give you that feel of nature. The one and only negative was that the hide-a-bed was not very comfortable. Other than that, we have no complaints! We would definitely consider staying here again!
Clean Cabin on a Nice Shoreline
The cabin was very nice on the inside and clean. It had everything we needed for dishes, towels/blankets (smelled fresh and clean), outside chairs, indoor/outdoor cooking, and even marshmallow sticks. The kitchen is stocked, for sure. Being RIGHT on the lake was fantastic and the very shallow part is sandy/clean, which we enjoyed with our 1-year-old and puppy. Waste-high is a little weedy and slightly mucky. Lake was beautiful in the morning/evening; busy during day but with it being a chain of lakes, you can travel far with a boat (we did not). Firepit was nice. Description said firewood is included but they didn't have any this time, so be prepared to buy some (we found a local selling it cheap, a few miles off Hwy G west of the cabin). The front deck is high up and does not have a railing, which made us nervous with our walking 1-year-old.
2 bathrooms was handy (one is accessible from the back deck). There isn't a bedroom - it's one big room with plenty of furniture. The downside was putting our 1-year-old down for nap/bedtime, while we still needed to use things in the cabin. We napped him in the bathroom which worked. Bedtime was tougher cuz we chose the kitchen as his bedroom. It wasn't ideal but it worked.
The yard was perfect for our dog to be free and off-leash; across the road, was a gravel road where we'd take her to run as well. Eagle River has so many hiking trails - took the kiddo and puppy all the time and it was great! Shannon Lake is a beautiful, MUST-DO trail and there are two perfect, sandy spots to cool off in the water.
There is a resort next door to the cabin, but it's separated by lots of trees so you don't see it. However, one night a group of young girls were playing and it was kinda loud. Not a deal breaker, because for the most part, we were too busy doing our own thing to notice resort noise. The other neighbor is blocked by a small forest of trees. The owners' house is behind the cabin, up the hill a bit but completely exposed. We didn't feel a lack of privacy but some people might. We saw them a couple times and chatted briefly - nice couple.
I did arrange a couple things with the owner in advance and when we arrived, he had forgot about them. I reminded him and he was fine with it, so all was good. We would definitely recommend this property. We would also return someday, however, we really like trying different places. LOVE Eagle River area for recreation. It was a perfect weekend!!!
Tina, her family, and dog were great guests. They cared for our cabin and grounds as if it were their own. What more could you ask for as an owner?
I would highly recommend them to other owners as guests.
