Beautiful home. Huge

  • 4 of 5

We visited Trout Lake for a wedding and rented this house with several of the other wedding guests. It was super close and convenient. The house is huge but only has two bathrooms, one upstairs and one downstairs. If you are up and down all night this can be inconvenient.

Gorgeous house, gorgeous view, overall 5 star experience

  • 5 of 5

This house was beautiful, spacious, and very accommodating to our needs. We came with a group of 6 people, and one more joined half way to make it 7.

The house was easily able to sleep 7 people. Any of our questions were immediately answered by management.

The location of the house is perfect if you are looking for a quiet getaway. The house is located in the countryside, and has a spectacular view of mount hood from the porch that we loved viewing every day. Right beside/behind the house is Mt. Adams. You are much closer to Mt. Adams but need to drive a minute down the road to actually see it. Both mountains are breathtaking to see.

Would love to come to this house again hopefully in the near future!

This is indeed a gorgeous home!

  • 5 of 5

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this lovely old ranch house! The home is tastefully and beautifully restored, using lovely wood and traditional design. It was comfortable and accommodating. We found everything we could need to cook large meals for our group of eight. We particularly enjoyed sitting around the gas fire in the evening and relaxing on the wrap-around porch admiring the spectacular view of the Valley and Mt. Hood. Thank you for sharing your lovely old home. We will definitely return!

Wonderful getaway!

  • 5 of 5

It's like stepping back in time, unplugging (well, have to confess a few emails and phone calls!), and being in a beautiful rural environment that just creates relaxation. This place is an amazing "find" - and was just what we were looking for, for our two-couple getaway. Beautiful home, lots of history, many places to hike, visit, or just sit on the porch and look down towards Mt Hood over green pastures and dairy cattle grazing. We explored (lots of great walks and trails), had dinner with the "locals" at Taco Night (Mon) at Trout Lake restaurant, played games, visited with the two kittens who are barn cats but love people (we didn't let them inside, of course)....only down-side is both large bedrooms are upstairs but only one bathroom upstairs and one downstairs but no big deal. We have been fortunate to find vaca rentals all over the US and some in Europe and Caribbean - but hey - nothing beats the Northwest in the Fall, right? Thank you, Fred and family, for sharing this beautiful property.

Family gathering

  • 5 of 5

We stayed in this beautiful Trout Lake log home for a family reunion and wedding at a nearby farm. The house is beautiful and the setting is gorgeous, with lovely countryside and dramatic mountain views. The house was very clean and well equipped with nice touches like fluffy bathrobes near the showers. There are 3 bedrooms (one of them has several beds) and there are places to sleep (couches and futon) in other parts of the house. There is not a lot of closet space, but that was not a problem for us. We especially enjoyed the large kitchen and living room with a gas fireplace. The young woman who managed the house very welcoming and responsive. We wished we could have stayed and further explored this beautiful area for a few more days.
