Lovely, newly remodeled, next to snowmobile/ATV trails, close to beach
Why Brenda Jackman chose Ontonagon
This property has been in our family for well over 100 years. When our parents passed away, we did not want to part with it, so we renovated it to share with our family, friends, and neighbors. We tried to keep as much of the original flavor of the house as possible - what wasn't already changed by our ever-busy remodeling mother! The interior is completed, but we still have some work to do on the back porch, as well as the exterior.
What makes this House unique
Although we are located conveniently close to all the stores and play areas, the lot is very large and private.

Minimum age of primary renter: 18 - 1818
Canceled bookings will not receive a refund
Damage and incidentals
You will be responsible for any damage to the rental property caused by you or your party during your stay.
Clean and Cozy
Great location, close to town and trails. Kids really enjoyed skiing at the Porcupine Mtn. Porkies.
Great snowmobile trip location!
4th time we used it for snowmobile trip, love it!
Perfect Place for our Group of Guys
Back for our 2nd stay at Nuchie's Nest. We come up every fall to ride ATV's in the Ontonagon area. Nuchie's is right off of the trail that heads from Ontonagon to Rockland. You can even ride into town on your ATV's for fuel, dinner, breakfast etc.. Always enough beds for our group of guys. After a long day of riding it is a great place to come back to relax. Warm and cozy. Large Kitchen. Nice shower. Plenty of parking for trailers as well. Brenda is a great host and is just a phone call away if there is anything you need. Great destination for Snowmobiling as well.
Noochies Nest is Nice but...
Someone has put a lot of love into this older home. It is clean, has a well stocked kitchen; but no bathtub and beds are not very comfortable. If you have an allergy to mildew, you may want to reconsider. One of our party does and she was miserable inside the house. Must've been from the age of the house; the basement maybe? The yard has a lot to be desired and the neighborhood is junky.
The worst part was the price...it appears to be reasonable until you realize that they add a big fee for VRBO and one for the owner...sorry... they do allow pets?..
The house was as pictured, but the TV didn’t work- constantly buffering and we couldn’t watch anything all the way through. Also, someone entered the residence while we were away.... when we asked the Owner about it,, they responded it was for garbage pick up yet both inside and outside garbages were still there. We cut our trip short and left early.
So sorry you had problems with the TV! This is the first time we've heard of the buffering, but we'll check with other guests, and if it continues, we'll have to change to something different.
I'm very concerned about someone entering the property - we've NEVER had that happen. My husband did come over to pick up the OUTSIDE garbage, but neither he, nor I, entered the house, or even the porch. (We view the house as "belonging" to the guests while they are there, and have NEVER entered the property without the guests knowledge and permission - and that was in order to fix the running toilet and another time, the furnace.)
Although Ontonagon is a very quiet town, if I had understood someone had been in the house, I would have contacted the police, especially if it had been locked while you were gone. Also, we live just a couple houses away, and have a direct line of sight to the house, so, of course, we are able to keep an eye on things. We certainly didn't notice anyone or anything suspicious.
I'm sorry you felt you needed to cut your vacation short. I thought the reason was because something came up at home, not because you were unhappy with the house.
Ontonagon is near the beautiful Porcupine Mountains, where sight-seeing is a must! You can also enjoy hiking, snowmobiling, skiing, waterfalls, beaches. Noochie's Nest is next to the snowmobile/ATV trail, and just a few minutes from beautiful Lake Superior!
Noochie's Nest is located on a large, private, residential lot in the village. Being a small town and quiet neighborhood, it is very quiet. There are sidewalks on most blocks for nice walks. Shopping, restaurants, and gas stations are all less than 5 minutes from the house.
