I have 1 permanent resident who lives upstairs - which leaves the entire first floor of the home available for you! The only shared space is the kitchen and laundry room. Dennis has been here since before I started renting on this site and he is extremely easy going, quiet, and helpful. As past guests who have stayed here say... "His schedule is such that you will rarely see him."
The home has 3 bedrooms on the first floor, which will comfortably accommodate up to 8 people. The first room has one king size bed and a queen sleeper sofa. There is a queen size bed in another room and a king size bed in the other. There are 2 full bathrooms available for your private use. You have full access/use of the kitchen, laundry room, living room, and dining area.
The house is pet friendly on a one acre lot - half of which is fenced in, quiet neighborhood, large back deck, outdoor seating for 8, grill, fire pit for bonfires, wifi.
My home is located 1.5 miles from train station in beautiful downtown Glen Ellyn. There are wonderful options for dining and shopping. Travel on the prairie path to neighboring cities such as Wheaton or Lombard.
The Great Western Trail is located adjacent to the back yard. Good for cycling or jogging.
Close to North Ave and 355 for easy commute to the city (30 miles via highway). Train is also just as easy! Please read the reviews and feel free to contact me should you have any questions. Thank you! ~Heather
I have been a middle school art teacher for 17 years. I also create commissioned works of art - mainly watercolors and oil pastels. I absolutely love my home and my neighborhood. I have used VRBO to travel for the past 9 years and loved every place I have stayed. I had this extra space in my home and thought, 'Why not put it on the site and see what happens?!' So here I am, after 10 months of listings and several wonderful guests, feeling blessed to share my home with you....
Heather Anne purchased this house in 2009
My father purchased this property back in 1989. He passed away in 2006 and I have since redecorated and made it my own. The location of the home has been what brings all of my guests. It's close to their family, friends or business acquaintances in Glen Ellyn and the surrounding areas.
The unique benefits of staying here are the amount of space you have access to, the kitchen and the back yard. Although there is 1 permanent resident, our schedules are such that we rarely see one another so you get the feeling of renting the whole home.
We stayed 4 nights in Heather's home while in town for a wedding. We were very comfortable (including the beds). We enjoyed the backyard and had dinner on the patio. We have stayed at many VRBO homes and this was one of the best!!! You won't find a nicer more caring home owner than Heather. We would highly recommend this home to others!!! Thank you Heather!!!
We loved our stay! We were attending a week long convention in St Charles and the house's location, huge yard, and quiet location made it a great place to come back to and relax. The upstairs tenant was always quiet, and we rarely saw him.
The house had everything we needed for our stay and it's layout made it easy for everyone to have their own space. Heather was attentive and quick to respond if we had any questions. The house was clean and well maintained. Downtown Glen Ellyn has some great restaurants and stores. We will definitely be back!
Heather is a sweetheart and could not have been nicer. The house was clean and Heather was very organized with having
this home ready for rent. I would recommend this home to anyone and I would like to rent this home again.
We were in town for a family reunion in Lombard. Heather's place was perfect for what we were looking for. Great location, quiet area, the house was VERY nice, very clean, everything you needed, just like being at home. 100% better than staying at a hotel!!!
A group of us stayed for a board review. It was great! We were able to cook breakfast and dinners. The beds were comfortable. Please be aware that the tenant will be walking through the living space to leave for work. He does not have a separate enterance, but did not bother us at all.
My husband and I so enjoyed our time away to visit his brother's family in Naperville. Though we are both disabled everything was so comfortable in the house. Heather and the upstairs tenant Dennis were both so helpful. We stayed in the white room and had all we needed there and we loved the huge refrigerator for our food and all the modern kitchen facilities. It was a lovely time and I would recommend to others. The house is tucked a bit off the major roadways and had a lovely back yard.
