About the property

2 Bedrooms, 1 Bathroom, Sleeps 5

Our comfortable cabin is located in the Lake Kokanee area of the Lake Cushman Resort on the Olympic Peninsula and a short drive from the south end of the Olympic National Park. Great fishing in Lake Kokanee or a short drive to the Hood Canal where there are many public beaches and saltwater activites. We are about a 5 minutes drive to the park on Lake Cushman. If you are a boater, it doesn't get much better than Cushman, 10 miles of fresh water. Grocery store and restaurants just a short trip away to the town of Hoodsport. You will find the kitchen well appointed for your cooking needs. We also have a large propane BBQ on the deck. We offer 2 kayaks complete with life vests and paddles, you will however have to transport them to the lake by truck, roof rack or old fashioned carry. We have one bedroom on main floor with a queen bed and a large loft that sleeps 3 with a double bed and a twin. The loft looks out over the living room area and into the tree tops. Please keep in mind this is a loft and the staircase is steeper than your average staircase. There is a comfy sitting area with a small TV for the kids to watch their favorite DVD's. There are books, games and classic movies to choose from. The TV has no signal so we have VCR and DVD player in the living room. Feel free to bring your favorites or enjoy ours. Lake Cushman as well as Lake Kokanee have wonderful community parks with full amenities for you to use during your stay. Parks have playgrounds, picnic areas, horseshoe pits, beaches, docks, great boat launches and exquisite views of the Olympic Mountains. Hiking galore with Camp Cushman, the Olympic National Forest and Olympic National Park. If you love to golf, we have a golf course. Tennis anyone? We have those courts too. Hoodsport is located on the edge of the Hood Canal; a saltwater fjord. You will find several restaurants, a new grocery store, winery, distillery , coffee shop with the best ice cream in the world (Olympic Mountain), liquor store and several shops to enjoy. There are 2 casinos within 30 minutes of the cabin. We look forward to sharing our piece of tranquility and fun with you. Please keep in mind there is no Wi-Fi, satellite or cable service. We have Verizon phone service and have no problem accessing the internet from our phone but we can't speak to other wireless carriers.

This is such a fantastic place, so peaceful and quiet and yet so close to so many fun activities. The pictures don't do it justice. We hope to return again! Highly recommended

Lovely cabin

  • 4 of 5

Great place for a relaxing long weekend. Cabin is nicely outfitted. All you need is to bring your food! Kayaking on the nearby lake was fantastic! Lake was a short drive from the cabin- not within walking distance. Several hikes within a 30 minute drive with varying difficulty levels. Cabin has a fun collection of antiques/memorabilia.

Adorabel and quaint abode

  • 5 of 5

My family and I had the best experience in this home. We had everything we needed to enjoy the area as the Knudsen family set out directions to local spots and allowed us to take the kayaks out, which was a blast. This home was comfortable, clean, and stocked everything we needed for our stay. Our favorite place to hang out at the cabin was the large deck which had plenty of seating and an awesome grille to cook on. This place is great for a quiet get away in a beautiful area. Thank you Knudsen family for helping us create some fun memories!

A lovely beath of fresh air and a place to revisit again and again.

  • 5 of 5

I drove from Iowa to WA to see my son, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. They did not have enough room for us to meet so I contacted HomeAway. This home was in a middle location. The owners of this property were so good to work with me to get into it at such a late date. I, my son his wife and daughter stayed at the home. The accommodations were comfortable and well supplied. We enjoyed the VCR and there were many good movies to watch. The diverse decor was very interesting. It rained so we didn't get to use the big deck with table, chairs and grill. The yard with the fire ring and chairs was another big attraction we wish we could have used but the rain kept us inside. The grandchildren and their babies were there for 1 afternoon and it was great to meet and take pictures in private. I would have liked to stay longer/ would love to stay again if I get out again. I would have liked to walk in the trees and see the other things there.

Loved the stay especially the kayaks and quiet. Would have liked a bit more seating in the living space for watching movies.
