Can't imagine anything better
As we told our hosts Susan and Tom, "Wow. To say jaw-dropping is an understatement. Your home is just stunning." This turn-of-the-20th century Edwardian is perfect in every way. The modern kitchen is fabulous, and truly lives up to the often-overused "gourmet" description. The garage parking space for 2 cars is a HUGE plus! The garden sitting area is a piece of heaven in the middle of the city. And the neighborhood is loaded with fabulous restaurants, shops, grocery and more, all within a few blocks walk.
The four of us (two couples) agree that we just can't imagine how anything could be more perfect, and the warmth and hospitality of the hosts can't be topped. They actually share their whole *home* with their guests (when they are away) and it feels like you're at home in the process. Only occasionally available, this gem is one to grab if you have the chance. We feel privileged to have had that opportunity.
Thank you Tom and Susan!
Wonderful San Francisco week!
This was a fantastic place for a week of family fun. It is exactly as described, very nicely preserved but updated where needed (ie: kitchen & baths). The beds were comfortable and everything was extremely clean. The back garden was an oasis with flowers and humming birds and the kitchen is furnished with everything a cook could want. The location was perfect. The Muni bus ran on this street, there was a full service grocery store about 4 blocks away and there were many restaurants within walking distance. Also, it is only 5 blocks to a Big Bus HOHO stop. We had no issues whatsoever and would love to stay again.
From the moment of booking I knew I had chosen the right place. Tom and Susan were so accommodating. Their home is beautiful and very clean. I could not have been more comfortable. I would highly recommend the lovely home to anyone planning a trip to SanFrancisco.
We stayed with 3 friends in this house. The owners are more than kind and helpful. We choose the house for location, because it has 3 bedrooms, a garage and the pics. In real it is fabulous in every way!! The house is very well kept. The rooms are more than nice. The kitchen is super, it's like being in a greenhouse without the atmosphere! A great advantage is the garage if you have a (rental) car. We enjoyed our stay tremendously. The neighborhood is very nice too with lots of nice shops and decent grocers. Walking distance from Market/Castro with on the way splendid view over downtown. If you rent this house with a couple of friend is it a much better 'investment' than a couple hotel rooms with loads of space. I really recommend this property. I certainly want to be back there!!
One of the highlights of our trip to SF!
Our family of 4 all agreed that the house was one of the highlights of our spring break in San Francisco. It is spacious, comfortable, clean, and centrally located, and it ranks as the best of the VRBO homes we have rented over the years (there have been at least 5 others, all good to excellent). The photos don't do it justice. The Steinway baby grand piano was a hit with our 2 kids who both take lessons back home. Who would have thought they would enjoy practicing so much on vacation! There is a very large doll house that our 11-year old daughter enjoyed playing with. The owners met us upon arrival and gave us a thorough explanation of everything we would need to enjoy our stay, and there is also a thoughtful notebook full of local restaurant menus, maps, etc. The full-sized washer and dryer allowed us to travel light. The neighborhood is safe, and the house is a block and a half away from a busier street with a bus stop, restaurants, and a couple of really nice small groceries. We will recommend staying here to anyone we know going to San Francisco!
A Quiet Haven in Bustling San Fran
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in Tom and Susan's beautiful home. The house itself is really quiet given that it's located in a vibrant city and the city garden out the back is peaceful. We sat and watched the hummingbirds over breakfast. There's loads of restaurants and cafes nearby that you can walk to if you don't want to venture too far. There are some fantastic food stores in the area, which are a foodies dream. We loved the information pack which Tom and Susan prepared for guests, it was really helpful. We had a hire car so we didn't end up taking public transport but I believe it's pretty well connected from a public transport perspective. We will definitely come back if we are visiting San Francisco and would highly recommend this lovely Victorian home.
