About Mic Ortega

Graduates of nearby Regis University, we have lived in the Highlands since the late 90's. We currently live in Berkeley close by, own two businesses in the Highlands and love absolutely everything about our neighborhood and state. We love trying all the new restaurants in the hood and are more than happy to provide recommendations for our favorite spots.

Mic Ortega purchased this house in 2006

Why Mic Ortega chose West Highland

We spend a lot of time traveling and we stay at VRBO's whenever we can. We have stayed in some great ones and some really bad ones so our goal is to do all we can to make this a great one. If it was a little larger, we would live in this house in a second because the location is so perfect. If you are visiting Denver for the first time or the 30th time, we don't think there is a better spot to experience all that Denver has to offer.

What makes this house unique

Feel free to contact us for recommendations on anything Denver. We have lived here for 15 years now and love our neighborhood. We spend a lot of time walking to our favorite restaurants, grabbing some homemade ice cream on the way home, running around the lake and going for walks with the family at night. This house is perfect for all these activities in the neighborhood and is so convenient to the entire front range. It's just a short drive to the mountains, Boulder, Estes Park, Evergreen, Cherry Creek, Golden and so much more.

Great House in Lovely Hood!

  • 4 of 5

A friend and I spend a long weekend in the cottage. The house is super comfortable, with two nice beds, plenty of space, and a well-stocked kitchen. The neighborhood is peaceful and quiet, with coffee shops and restaurants within a few blocks. The location is perfect...only a few minutes from downtown and a great home base for day trips to the mountains.

Mic was very responsive to a minor request and was available if needed. We'll definitely stay here again next trip.

Highly recommended!

Great place for families

  • 5 of 5

We loved staying in this cute house. The house was awesome for our group of 4 plus two toddlers. We really had everything we needed for the kids which was a huge convenience for us. The beds are comfy, the kitchen well equipped, and Mic/Sarah were very accommodating and easy to communicate with. The location is great with nearby shops, parks and restaurants. We really felt well taken care of and would definitely stay here again.

The house was perfect for us and so was the location!

  • 5 of 5

What a sweet cottage! Bright, comfortable and convenient , it was everything we needed. We took a morning walk to Sloan Lake Park every day! The house is situated in a very nice and safe area - I loved the neighborhood! Easy walking distance to shops, and restaurants.

Owner is responsive and all went very smoothly. P.S. We never heard the gentleman who lives in the basement apt.

I'd rent this home again in a minute!!

perfectly welcoming

  • 5 of 5

went to denver to get my son settled into college - my parents and husband and i shared this little house. we found it clean (but in an old house way for sure) and comfortable. the bedrooms are both fine - one is slightly larger than the other. i worried that the house doesn't have a/c - with my older parents - but they do have something like air conditioning which i was unfamiliar with -- it worked terrifically. we used the grill, and the kitchen stuff -- all was fine! John, the downstairs guy was around, and we found him very friendly and super committed to keeping the grass perfectly green, and growing his veggies; which he so generously shared with us. we run, so ran down to the lake around and back (about 6km) very sweet little neighbourhood and seemed very safe and friendly. if you go --- check out "Sputino" for an extremely good dinner experience, it's nearby. i would certainly stay here again. we had one teenie issue with the place the first night, and found it easy to correct via text messaging to the owner. stay here, you'll like it.

  • 4 of 5

The house was decorated beautifully. Good amenities in kitchen, bathroom and rooms. Living room was comfortable for lounging. Kitchen had what you needed to cook and eat meals at home. Instructions were clearly written in binder at the house. Great location. Nearby good food, downtown and surrounding areas of Denver.
