Beautiful, Updated 1 Bedroom Corner Unit With Wrap Around Lanai
J1 is a one bedroom/one bathroom private garden retreat tucked away at Paniolo Hale, a unique, secluded condominium complex located on the west end of Molokai. The area's beautiful beaches are steps from the front door.
The construction of the unit has many interesting features.
First, multiple French doors, windows and skylights bring in natural light and allow trade winds to breeze through keeping the temperature cool and comfortable.
The wrap around lanai houses bamboo lounge chairs for resting and reading; while patio sets provide a setting for romantic dinners or a place to entertain guests.
There are cathedral wood ceilings and floors throughout the living areas of the condo including: the living room comfortably furnished with lovely updated bamboo furniture, a flat screen TV and DVD player; the tastefully decorated queen bamboo bedroom; and the updated, well-stocked kitchen.
In terms of day-time activities: there is surfing and whale watching in front of Paniolo Hale in the winter and snorkeling and swimming in the summer. The unit includes boogie boards, snorkel equipment, bikes, beach chairs and a cooler ...everything you need while vacationing on Molokai! Best of all, because Paniolo Hale is located on the west end of the island, there is a sunset to enjoy every night.

Calm and Peacful
Very nice property, we had a relaxing stay, loved waking up with the sound of birds, and loved watching the rain from open windows
Peaceful, remote, with all modern amenities
How wonderful to stay in a place where you feel removed from civilization and yet there is wifi, cable TV, and well equipped kitchen at your disposal. Having a washer and dryer right in the unit is another plus. The large screened in porch lets you enjoy the fresh air of Hawaii while dining or lounging even if it raining outside. We love plants and the whole complex is beautifully landscaped.
Unique tree house-like unit surrounded with open lanai. High ceilings, open and airy feel. A great place to relax. Literally steps to beach and snorkeling waters! I will return.
We spent most of our time on the lanai enjoying the sounds of the ocean and birds. The grounds are beautiful. The condo provides equipment for many activities and is nicely furnished. Our only regret is that it is time to return home.
Beautiful, private property
My sister and I visited Moloka'i for the first time this year and stayed in Paniolo Hale J-1. We loved the unit because you can completely open it up to the lanai on two sides, so it gives a very open, fresh, spacious feel. We could hear the surf from the unit and couldn't hear much of anything else - no traffic, very little from adjoining units. The kitchen was well appointed and there was an abundance of recreational gear. The unit has some nice updates and we had an exceptionally pleasant 2-week stay. We'll definitely be back!!
Nice change of pace -and no snow!
This unit is small but reasonably well appointed for most cooking and living needs. Our friends staying in another unit here at Paniolo Hale did not have nearly the amount of cook and serving ware as we did here at J-1. This is kind of important, since restaurants are very few and not close by. The cookware here is dated and worn but still largely serviceable. Overall the unit is comfortable and mainly in good shape, and gives one a sense of privacy. Most things worked (the DVD player was problematic). If you're staying here for only a few days you probably don't want to watch movies, but if staying longer there is a dearth of evening activities, so it's nice to have available. One big plus with J-1 are the bikes. There are two rather inexpensive ones here, with helmets located in the armoire on the lanai. My husband recommends that if you want to use them, be sure to bring a universal bicycle Allen wrench set with you for tightening or tuning.
In sum, this is a really nice getaway location, full of the sounds of birds in the morning and the surf.
