About Bruce P.

Two families, best friends from Los Angeles area, jointly own this property. Once our respective children are grown and out of the house, we'll be spending a lot more time in Montecito. Our escapes to the Montecito coast though infrequent, are delightful. We enjoy hiking, walks through the beautiful neighborhoods and beaches, and a short stroll to excellent restaurants and specialty shops.

Bruce P. purchased this cottage in 2009

Why Bruce P. chose Montecito

We've been visiting the Santa Barbara area since we were kids, and have always dreamed of owning here. We enjoy the slower pace, beautiful trees, temperate coastal climate, and friendly people. We acquired this gem in a very special area of Montecito, and are excited about sharing this lifestyle with others. We recharge when in Montecito - whether enjoying outdoor activities or picking up a book to read on comfortable chair under a shady oak tree.

What makes this cottage unique

Great care has been taken to bring out the character of this cottage. It's full of light, fresh air, and tree filled exposure from every room. We also offer free WIFI and movie channels.

It’s a few minute walk to historic Upper Montecito Village known for its charm and upscale boutiques, fine dining, Pierre Lafond Montecito Market, and the popular Montecito Coffee Shop. Upper Montecito Village is lush with colorful native plants, tall eucalyptus and oak trees, fabled estates, set against the breathtaking San Ynez mountains. From the cottage, it’s a nice walk to the romantic San Ysidro Ranch, where you will find the beginning of the San Ysidro Trail and an easy hike to a waterfall about two miles from the trailhead. In the Upper Village, there is plenty of grass everywhere for kids to run around and the cottage is two blocks from Manning Park home to a toddler playground and picnic areas. Miramar Beach is one mile at the foot of San Ysidro Road. Shopping and dining on Montecito's Coast Village Road and the beaches and attractions of Santa Barbara are accessible on the many bike paths. (Two bikes are available for our guests).

Lovely Oasis in Montecito

  • 5 of 5

We had a delightful three day stay in the cottage. Well equipped with everything we need and a very short walk to shops and restaurants. We had fun dodging the falling acorns from the oak trees on the terrace. The bed was very comfortable and there was lots of room. One of our favourite places to stay now.
