Great property, not so great management

  • 1 of 5

I'll start by saying that the property is great. The dock is nice, beach is kept up, and the house has good space, and is portrayed very accurately.

now for the bad....as soon as we arrived, we quickly realized that only 1 out of 2 A/C units was functioning. After much difficulty and poor communication, the property manager had a service man come out to verify the problem the next day. The home owner ordered a window unit to help get us by, but it could not be installed for another day. Finally, we were told that we would have to vacate the property because the AC could not be fixed. We were not given any alternative lodging, we had to find our own. We were then told that we were lucky that they didn't charge us an extra day since we didn't get out by check-out time (11am) when we were told to vacate premises not more than an hour before that.

It took the full 45 days to receive any sort of refund, with very difficult communication in between, and it was only a partial refund, not a full one.

In summary, we never had competent AC in the house, the living room and kitchen were 80+ degrees. If this issue was fixed, the house would be great, but because of the way things were dealt with, I personally would not rent from this company again.

Nice house but could be awesome

  • 3 of 5

We stayed at this house to enjoy the lake and visit with our 3 grown children and their spouses and 2 new grandbabies. The sandy area was great for our 16 month old granddaughter who came with us. The water was warm and the weather was great. We brought 5 adults, 2 teenagers and a baby with us. I think I need to mention that you have to go through one of the bedrooms to get to the master bedroom or go through the bathroom, into the closet and into the master. Either way you go, you open a door that could possibly disturb anyone sleeping in the bedroom. These two bedrooms are not very private if you're traveling with couples and the king bed mattress is hard. Since this is a 5 bedroom home, you would expect to find a large frying pan to cook with. There is not one. The grill was not operable for the first 4 days we were there. I also have to mention that the cleaning job was not very good. There is a glass coffee table that had food and prints all over it and the floor was definitely not mopped. The garbage cans had food in the bottom of them so I cleaned them and left them in the breakfast room and we just used large garbage bags on the floor. I swept the deck and cleaned off the table outside. I think if I had to pay a cleaning fee then the house should have been cleaned. It was cleaner when I left. If you are traveling with toddlers, you need to bring a baby gate for the steps that lead downstairs. There was also a down pour of rain one evening and water was on the carpeted floor in the tv room downstairs. It started smelling so I left candles to burn. We had a great time and I am glad that this house is shared with vacationers, but I would definitely take some time and make it more welcoming. If you are allergic to bees, watch the covered boathouse. Nests galore.

Owner's Response: Hi Mary Lisa - we are very sorry that the house was not clean. The property manager asks all renters to call them as soon as possible if the place is not clean upon arrival, or if anything does not work like the grill. We appreciate your candor and will consider your recommendations. Owners/Property Managers

too short of a stay

  • 5 of 5

Loved the place! It is right on the water with ample views of the lake. Plus, the house is HUGE, so can accommodate several families with no problem. Would highly recommend for anyone who wants to boat, swim, or just hang out reading a book on the large enclosed back area facing the water. Great boat dock. Clean and neat as well.

Perfect house for a lake day/weekend!

  • 5 of 5

A few friends and I wanted to enjoy the nice weather on the lake for a weekend and this house was perfect for the occasion. Spacious, clean, well-kept space and property. The numerous bedrooms were all a comfortable size with clean and neat bedding. The bathrooms and living areas were also tidy and welcoming for us. The dock was the perfect size for our pontoon rental for the day. It is obvious that the owners take pride in this property and we will definitely be returning when lake season 2016 opens back up.

A magnificent house on the water

  • 5 of 5

This house is amazing. First, it has a large amount of land to itself. The road is a dead-end, so no through traffic. The property slopes down to the water, where a super-sized covered dock is. The rooms are large, and the bedrooms all face the water. Sunsets shine into the rooms. It has a cathedral ceiling in the great room, which looks out as well onto a large deck.
