What makes this House unique
My family, who are scattered across this continent, bought this property as a place to gather. Siblings and spouses enjoy being with each other while the kids play and enjoy 'Cousins Camp.' This has been the perfect place for our extended family to enjoy each other and for the cousins to truly know each other. We hope to keep this tradition going from generation to generation. Our reason for offering our home as a vacation rental when we are not using it is to share the joy our family has when we gather here.

Great spot for our family!
great location to enjoy all the north coast of Ca. has to offer.
I am beginning to think that people who have not lived in a damp climate do not realize how much the increased humidity makes it feel colder than the actual temperature as well as hotter. I will address that issue. However, raising the heat from what you requested was only a phone call away.
We hope you will vacation with us again.
Just as advertised
We are happy you enjoyed our home. We hope you can stay longer next time. The summer and fall are gorgeous times of the year, as is most of the spring. But sometimes mother nature has an agenda of her own no matter where you are.
Very clean and private.
Beautiful property
Thank you for staying with us. We would welcome you back.
Fantastic!
Location
You will be in the beautiful redwoods -- a national treasure -- with many National and State forests nearby. Ranger led hikes are available, as well as the opportunity to enjoy hiking on your own. There are a number of fabulous trails of varying length. Take along a picnic lunch and make it a day. Bird watching is fantastic at Lake Earl, only 3 miles away. There is just about any activity you might hunger for except snow and cold. Crescent City remains cool all year round -- neither cold nor hot. You can enjoy the beautiful blue skies and many sunny days, as this property is in a sheltered area protected from the ocean wind and fog -- even though the ocean is only four miles away. Of course, there are a multitude of beaches up and down the coast. Many of these beaches have very specialized attractions. Sand dollars are prevalent on a different beach from the beach with ocean polished glass and different from the best beach for a bonfire and different from the beach with the best tide pools. Wow! You are a mere 10 minutes from Oregon or downtown Crescent City (20 minutes to Brookings, OR -- a fun day trip with another harbor and more beaches). If collecting shells, make sure to not collect anything alive, and remember all the other people and animals that want to share those shells. Trees of Mystery -- an educational and beautiful hike through a privately owned redwood forest -- complete with a sky ride --is about 25 miles away. There are numerous lighthouses in the area. Crescent City (and Brookings) both have a number of wonderful restaurants. Nearby annual events include the Del Norte County Fair, Sea Cruise Car Show, Smith River Days, the July Kite Festival and many, many festivals celebrating everything from flowers to berries to fish to local artisans. This home is the perfect place for a family looking for a house they can enjoy and relax in. There is a large play structure in the backyard, along with a creek, a small pond for the children and a tree house for the teenagers wanting their own hideaway. Plus a large deck with plenty of seating for moms, dads and grandparents to relax and watch the little ones enjoying themselves. A Weber gas barbecue and an outdoor space heater are also deck residents. Plenty of privacy on the entire property and yet the house is not so rural as to be isolated.
