About Robin Bell

We purchased June 2014, can't be here all the time so we are sharing it with you.

Robin Bell purchased this cottage in 2014

Why Robin Bell chose East Central

We thought this would make a great retreat for those that want a get a way without having to go far from home!

What makes this cottage unique

We think the loft is a fun aspect of this home. the inside may be small but feels larger with the cathedral ceiling. Its just a charming little place.

Cottage Life

  • 5 of 5

Cottage was clean and decorated beautifully! The owner Robin is very accommodating and friendly and supplies you with everything you could possibly need from towels to bug spray. Upon arrival the front table had a welcoming dish with marshmallows, graham crackers and Hershey bars (we are not much of a s’mores family but did indulge on the chocolate bars ;0), as well as dog treats for our dog. Our family only stayed four nights but would have loved to stay the rest of the week, I would definitely recommend!

PROS:

• Very clean

• Towels, beach towels, bed linens, dishes, utensils, pots, pans are provided as well as a small supply of coffee, and some condiments.

• Beds (doubles) on ground level very comfortable.

• Large refrigerator

• Plenty of fans to keep you cool in summertime.

• Many board games, DVD’s, and books.

• Backyard is well maintained with a fire pit, chairs, wood, and shed that contains bikes and some beach toys.

• Close to beaches and town.

CONS:

• Small (it’s a cottage), but beautiful and perfect for two to four people.

• Loft – not adult friendly, especially after partaking in a few adult beverages, (great for kids and is the largest bedroom).

• No storage in second bedroom so you cannot put clothes away.

• Bathroom and shower are very small – people of larger size would find it a bit challenging but manageable.

• No Wi-Fi so if you like to use internet for streaming music or just searching you will eat up a lot of data if you can even get service.

• TV’s are limited to DVD’s only, (one in family room and other in loft) – This was only a minor complaint by our eldest family member.

Owner's Response: Thanks Anthony! You summed things up fantastically! In all of my conversations with potential renters, I make sure to mention that , yes, this is a small cottage, and that most of the time is spent out of doors... if weather permits ofcourse! When 6 adults are indoors , you notice it is tight on space. The loft area is mostly a hit with families with older kids or teenagers. I'ts like a retreat away from the grownups! We know that bathroom needs revamping...we're waiting on Worth township to quit dragging their feet to put in the sewer systems! Once that is complete, we plan to redo bathroom size and orientation to accomodate a larger shower, making more space for all to utilize! :) Hoping this transpires soon! I also make sure that there is a picture posted online...what you see is all that there is. There actually is an HD antenna set up and it receives 4 channels. I do not have wifi so that families (including mine!) disconnect from the electronics and enjoy each other :) Not too many guests have mentioned missing the wi-fi. I'm sorry that you did not have it. I hope that your stay was a great getaway regardless, and that you come back to the area, lodging with us or another cottage. Blessings, Robin

Inviting!!

  • 4 of 5

Stayed two nights, it was a perfect get away for my sister and I. Grilled in both nights had everything we needed and more to make our meals. Every kitchen utensils are provided with wonderful quality. Robin and her husband were gracious enough to come by to replenish the wood supply she was concerned that we may have not had enough for the bon fire. Very well maintained and clean cottage. Hope to return there soon. Also thank you for the smores supplies.

Cute and clean

  • 5 of 5

We had two couples and one child that stayed for a long weekend and didn't feel too crowded. We didn't spend a lot of time at the cottage during the day, but the fire pit and back yard were great for the evenings. The neighbors are close but not enough to bother you. The water level was high so the nearby beaches weren't much but we ventured out and still spent our days on the lake. The owners were very accommodating and the house was stocked with almost anything you need.

Owner's Response: Thanks Jackie, The back yard is the best retreat after a long day at any beach, there are several that still have great areas of sand available. Like you said, sometimes you have to just venture out a bit, rather than go straight to the nearest beach. Thanks for leaving the cottage so clean :)

Exactly what we were looking for

  • 5 of 5

Can't thank Robin enough for the stay. Very cute little cottage 5 minutes walk away from the lake. First night we took advantage of the fire pit out back (toof kindling & wood) after a nice BBQ. Second night it was raining but we lucked out as Robin has a great collection of DVD's and we got caught up on some 90's classics. Very clean place and Robin has gone the extra mile ensuring the little things are taken care of (tote bags for the beach, the DVD's and games, firewood, etc.) Highly recommend for anyone looking to escape the city! Thanks Robin.

Quaint Nest

Immaculate, quaint, welcoming, comfortable, cozy, relaxing. We felt so at home! The loft was a hit with the kids. Robin went over and above to accommodate our dates and provide information. Stocked-only had to bring food/clothes. Would definitely return.
