Greatest family vacation
The house and location were perfect for spending time with family and friend. Endless summer fun. We enjoyed the lake, bbq, yard games, camp fire and smores!! This place exceeded our expectations. We shall return again.
Our two families (parents & 1 child each) stayed here for 4 days. It was a great camp, surprisingly larger than expected. Plenty of space for the kids to play and for all of us to stay in separate spaces. Kayaks were fun - kids loved playing in the water - nice back yard for games - campfires at night were great - loon calls were peaceful. Only bad things were that the dishwasher was broken when we were there and it could've been cleaner. Nice, quiet location on a nice, quiet pond though.
The house is really in the middle of nowhere, which is absolutely awesome. So quiet. So peaceful. Most of the homes on David Pond have floating docks anchored a short swim from their land. This one doesn't, but its no biggie. The pond is actually very big and the house is just on one corner nook of it. Great for canoeing or kayaking. There is a sizable, and quite busy, family-run zoo in the area, along with a nice authentic cafe a few minutes further down the road. That's about it though. There are a few stores, and other places to eat, but it's definitely a rural small-town area, so expect to drive to get anywhere. Good for outdoor activities like hiking, "hilly" biking, and boating. Let your kids run in the yard. Throw a frisbee. Hang a hammock. Have a BBQ. Go for a dip. Watch the fireflies.
Great location and good size
This was a great spot for a small family reunion for us as the 4 bedrooms were all nicely appointed plus there was still a good amount of living space available. The kitchen has everything you would need as well and the dishwasher was a huge plus! The lot has great lake access and the swimming was good. There were even beach toys for the kids and the kayaks were fun to use. There is a funky smell in the two smaller bedrooms that made my husband's allergies flare up but that was the only drawback to our weekend here.
