Beautiful home on deep water canal with large pool and sun deck. Florida Room upgraded to tile in October 2016. Upgraded to tile throughout most of the house in November 2016.

Two full size bedrooms with queen beds, dressers and full closets. A den with queen size pull out sofa or can be used as extra getaway space. Two bathrooms complement the living space. Open living, dining and kitchen area make for a great gathering place. Cable TV and 5G WiFi are provided as well as a DVD player. Washer and dryer in the utility room along with room for the ironing board and iron. All the major appliances in the kitchen are less than 4 years old. Also provided are micro wave, 12-cup coffee maker, toaster, can opener, and full dishes, glasses and utensils to complement your stay. There is a good sized Florida room attached that is also air conditioned.

The pool and deck are both large and have plenty of room for outdoor activity. The back yard is entirely fenced.

There is a floating dock available for an extra charge (ask owner). It has a 30 amp electricity supply and water available. You can be in the Gulf in minutes for either flats or deep water fishing.

About Don Himes

I am a retired insurance executive with a passion for sailing and won't turn down a game of golf. We originally bought the house for Terri's parents to retire, use as a second home (had our own room) and place to keep our boat.

Once both were gone we decided to renovate and enter the VRBO world as this has been such a joy for Terri's folks and us through the years and we felt it needed to be shared.

I have been active with the Hudson Beach Yacht Club for over 10 years and was the Commodore in 2007 and 2014.

Terri and I are looking forward to having one of the best property's around.

Why Don Himes chose Hudson

If you like the water and a nice retreat from the rat race this house and Hudson is right up your alley. We have owned the home for over 25 years and it was home to Terri's folks until both were gone. We have sailed and weekended there the whole time we owned it and absolutely love how comfortable the house is. It's been a great Escape for us throughout the years - thus the genesis of the name of the property. We know you will love all aspects of staying in our 2nd home.

The layout of the house makes for very comfortable living conditions. The 3rd bedroom/den can be an ideal place for older kids and is close to the 2nd bathroom.

The Florida room is a great extra getaway especially now that we've added air conditioning.

The large deck and spacious pool will give you hours of enjoyment.

The deep water canal gives direct access to the Gulf and is ideal for boaters. The floating dock has electric service and water and can accommodate most boats.

As a guest at Escape you are considered a welcome guest at the Sea Ranch Civic Association which has a lot of great events, classes, and dances. Great chance to meet some mighty friendly folks.

What makes this house unique

Hudson is a gem on the Gulf. It is a friendly small town near virtually all the major Florida attractions. Home to the Bonati Institute which is Internationally known for laser back surgery. We are 1.5 miles from the facility and have a number of guests from there.

As a guest of 'Escape' you will have full guest privileges at the Sea Ranch Civic Association which is only two blocks away. They have lots of events every month including exercise classes, dances, cards and an all you can eat pancake breakfast the 2nd Saturday of every month for only $4.00.

Disney and all the 'Orlando Stuff' is only 2 -2.5 hrs depending on where you're going. Tarpon Springs and the famous Sponge Docks area is only 15 minutes. Tampa - including the International Airport - sports venues and cruise docks are a 40 -60 minute ride via a nearby expressway. Close by is the historic Tarpon Springs and it's Sponge Docks. Also nearby are some of the top ranked beaches in America at Caladesi Island, Honeymoon Island, Howard Beach, and Clearwater Beach.

Excellent!

This is a wonderful place to stay, well maintained and well located. It is appointed and equipped with everything needed for an extended stay. We especially enjoyed the nice pool and patio overlooking the water. Our enjoyment was accentuated by the warm hospitality of the owner Don Himes. He is a gem, it was a real pleasure meeting him. He went out of his way to stay in communication and to always check to see if there was anything he could do for us. We would definitely do this again. Thanks Don!

Wonderful accommodations, in close proximity to a myriad of activities in the Tampa area.

The house was a perfect match to our needs. Recent updates have made it even more pet friendly. The location is convenient to all the major attractions in the greater Tampa area, but also far enough away to avoid the traffic. The pool is a GREAT plus, especially if staying during the summer. This was our second stay at Escape on the Gulf and will rent again for future visits to Tampa.

Great location on the canal

Had an amazing time. The pool was great and the house had all of the amenities we could ask for. Don was welcoming and made sure our stay was comfortable. We hope to stay at this rental again soon! Will also recommend this property to others!

Great dog-friendly home!

Escape on the Gulf is an awesome property. This is our second year renting this property and we will return next year. It is perfect with our dogs - a Great Dane & a Havanese. The owner is incredibly responsive to any questions or concerns and made some nice changes to the home last year. There is tile through 90% of the home now. The pool remains a huge draw. Met several neighbors this year and they were very kind and hospitable. My brother and sister-in-law spent a couple of nights with us and the property was quite comfortable for 4.

Pet fee (up to two dogs) are minumum of $50.00 up to 10 days and $5/day thereafter. Additional dogs or other pets will incur additional fees. Owner will negotiate based on what you have. Pet fees are subject to tax.

Owner's Cancellation Policy
