Clean and cozy with space for everyone!

  • 4 of 5

The cottage was clean and spacious, with lots of room to spread out. The road up to the cottage is steep and winding, but well maintained. The scenery at the house and in the neighborhood is beautiful. After the kids discovered there was no Internet access, some of them actually even went out to look at it. This was a short trip and our first trip to the area, but this location was pretty convenient to where we wanted to go and was about 20 mins from the interstate. We look forward to visiting again.

Exactly as expected from what was mentioned on the site. We had a wonderful time.

They had everything you might need in stock. The beds were very comfortable. I usually take a couple of days to get adjusted to another bed, no problem this time. Very charming. The owners are very nice and are there to assist you if you need anything. No complaints on my stay except one they have no control of. Expect to drive for food. I think everyone in the area are the nicest people. #Loved it! #Beautiful! #Friendly!

Great house and great area to explore

  • 5 of 5

This house is exactly as advertised. Very private and fairly secluded in a beautiful setting!

The mountain views, the creek, and the short walk to a beautiful waterfall make this a perfect place for a quiet family get away.

The place was nicely furnished, fully stocked, and clean. The wrap around porch was superb and offers truly amazing views.

Just be aware that the nearest grocery store is not super close. So bring what you need. All roads leading there are safe and easily navigated

Amazing Mountain House

  • 5 of 5

My husband and I and our 3 children stayed here with my parents for Thanksgiving. The house is so secluded and teh views are breathtaking! There was enough to do just on Gateway Mtn to keep my children entertained for hours and we were only 30 minutes from Chimney Rock and Black Mountain. Great place to stay, we will be back!

This is a great place to visit. Its very private, secure, and peaceful. Great location.

  • 5 of 5

My family just spent a week at this home. Its wonderfully decorated and very calming--which is exactly what we were looking for. We had 5 and plenty of space--could have handled several more and had plenty of space. Secure in a gated community, but spread out and can't see any neighbor houses. Beautiful views from the deck, which surrounds the home. It has paths and its own waterfall with seating near it for a very peaceful expereince. It takes about 20 minutes to get to Old Fort which has gas, post office, grocery store, several shops. Another 10 minutes gets you to Black Mountain with many shops and restaurants. Another 15 minutes gets you to Asheville with a lot of stuff, great day with the family-- and great dinner. We highly recommend this home and will probably return. Everything was there that we needed and we felt at home--a great experince for vacation.

Peaceful stay.

  • 5 of 5

We took our 2 grandsons to the mountains and it was awesome. There was a creek with a waterfall that is amazing. The grandchildren just loved it. Just to sit on the porch and hear the waterfall was so relaxing. We enjoyed looking at the decorations in the den and it was just a very relaxing mountain house. We loved it. We may go back and even take more family with us. Dan was very helpful also. You will be glad you made the choice to rent this home.
