Hal and Meg train thoroughbreds during the Churchill Downs' Spring Meet. They live at Audubon Landing from April to July every year while in Kentucky. The rest of the year is split between racing in Hot Springs, Arkansas during the winter months and home in Red Lodge, Montana.

The Williams' chose this property for several distinct reasons. Location. Location. Location is number one through three. It is close to the track, the airport, park/green space, the Audubon neighborhood, grocery shopping and the dining and entertainment opportunities of the Bardstown/Highlands area.
The home itself is in great shape, well constructed with mid-century charm. The neighborhood is quiet and friendly.
My husband and I stayed at Audubon Landing for 2 nights and it was a wonderful experience. The location was very convenient to all the places we wanted to go in Louisville, but had the advantage of being in a quiet neighborhood. The home is equipped with everything you need and then some. It was very, very clean and comfortably furnished. The owners provide detailed instructions for everything in the home and your stay which was so useful. They were easy to contact and it was apparent that the owners wanted to ensure our stay was enjoyable. We would definitely rent the property again and we highly recommend it to anyone visiting Louisville.
My husband and I, and our two dogs, stayed here for three nights and had a very pleasant experience for our first visit to Louisville. This home was in an excellent location and in a very nice neighborhood that made daily dog walks enjoyable. The home was very clean upon our arrival. We have stayed in quite a few home rentals for our trips and we must say that Hal and Meg were by far the most informative of all the information one needs to know about the property. They give very detailed instructions on everything for staying in their home. We really appreciated their efforts in helping to make our stay enjoyable. And just around the corner about two blocks away is a wonderful Mediterranean Grill. We ended up having lunch and dinner there over two days because the food was so good. Our time at Audubon Landing was very nice and we highly recommend this listing to anyone planning a trip to Louisville.
This property is clean and cozy. All the amenities plus the beds are super super comfortable. Very close to restaurants, store, and the airport. The owners made the experience twice as good. They are very nice super easy to work with and accommodating. They were very helpful and understanding when our travel arrangements changed due to weather. We would absolutely rent this property again. Honestly cannot think of one negative thing to say.
Hal and Meg were very easy to work with during the booking process. The home was easily accessible from the airport and also close to downtown. Everything was clean and very comfortable making it a low stress option while in town for the Ironman race. This was a much more comfortable option than renting multiple hotel rooms.
This was the first time we had ever tried renting a home instead of a hotel even had to do a lot of convencing to get my husband to let me cancel a reservation at a 1 star hotel so I could book it. We were both so pleased with the whole experience from the location of the hose, condition to cost. Hal was great to deal with very friendly .. I didn't know him but quickly felt like I was dealing with a friend. The house looks better than pictures, was very clesn and had everything we needed and then some. The price was just a small amount more than our cheap hotel we had booked so got much more for our money. Beds are so comfortable one is a memmory foam. Pillows offer a variety of firm to suiqshiness. The location is in nice neighborhood quiet and safe and close to so much. Things you will find within one mile are a Kroger, Walgreens, resturants and CVS is on corner can easily walk to it. Zoo is very close and we were there for event at the Fairgrounds and it was just 5 mins away very easy access. Great water pressure only thing would change is the lvingroom furniture could be more comfy cozy .. looks great but not much for settleing into. We will be booking it again we come to Louisville every year ... Hubby was very pleased. Thank you

Audubon Landing is a brick, Cape Code style, mid-1950's brick home located in the quiet Poplar Level neighborhood wonderfully bookended by two of Louisville's urban treasures.
Immediately to the west is stately Audubon Park and Audubon Golf Course. Listed on the National Register of Historic Places, the City of Audubon Park is 230 acres of classic architechture, shading mature oaks and blossoming dogwoods. Designated a bird sanctuary in 1978, the City of Audubon Park has two annual traditions: the spring Dogwood Festival and the fall Arts and Crafts Festival. It is a wonderful place to run, walk or stroll right from Audubon Landing's front steps.
To the west, Louisville's Highlands area boasts an eclectic array of shops, restaurants and nightclubs. Whether in search of clothes boutiques, a neighborhood pub, upscale dining, a movie, antiques or the best breakfast in Louisville; The Highlands has it all just a couple miles away.
Audubon Landing's own Poplar Level area is more parkland (80%) than developed neighborhood. It contains Joe Creason Park, historic Louisville and Calvary Cemeteries, Beargrass Creek State Nature Preserve and the Louisville Zoo, all within a mile and a half radius of Audubon Landing's driveway.
It's hard to beat Audubon Landing's convenience to the basics with a spread of fast foods (from Panera Bread to McDonald's), a Walmart and a CVS Pharmacy all within a half mile. Despite it's convenience, this comfortable home away from home feels sheltered from the hubbub.

$100 Reservation Deposit is invoiced through PayPal at time of booking. THIS DEPOSIT IS APPLIED TO RENTAL AMOUNT. Certain Louisville event periods (i.e. Ironman Competition, Mid-America Truck Show and others) may have a longer cancellation policy and minimum stay. If you make a reservation during one of these periods and the cancellation policy is different from our regular seven day policy, it will be explained to you at that time: BEFORE WE ACCEPT YOUR RESERVATION.
Cancellations must be made fourteen days prior to 3 PM EST of your check-in date for a full refund. Cancellations made between fourteen and seven days prior to Check-In Date will result in the forfeiture of the $100 Reservation Deposit. Cancellations made less than seven days prior to Check-In Date will result in the forfeiture of the first night's rental amount ($165). The remainder of all other monies collected will be refunded, including if paid, the entire Security Deposit through PayPal to the credit card originally charged.
All our charges are invoiced through PayPal. Guests do NOT need a PayPal account to pay these invoices, just a major credit card. Invoices are due ten days prior to arrival date.
