Very convenient apartment to explore old town Nice from
The apartment was nice and clean, quiet at night, and very easy to get to from anywhere in old town Nice. Very close to numerous wonderful restaurants and shops. Quick access to and from the beach and to the bus and tram stops.
Greaty spot to stay
Lovely apartment, close to all sights in the Old Town, very quiet. The bed was really relaxing after a day spent walking. The TV was a bit complicated but we managed it in the end.
Modern, clean apartment on a quiet street in the heart of the old town
We really enjoyed our 8 night stay at La Croix. We were really impressed most particularly with the standard of the kitchen equipment and would like to thank the owners for making them available. We also appreciated the wonderful selection of French herbs, oils etc., which really made creative cooking once we had raided the Cours Saleya market an absolute delight.
We would have liked to have more than one kitchen tea towel available as drying facilities were indoor and it was difficult to get it washed and dried in time for the next meal (we ended up buying a couple). It would have also been helpful to have a spare towel or two as the lovely persil white towels soon became grubby and needed washing.
Besides those very slight niggles, "La Croix" was very comfortable and clean and we slept really well in the bed especially as the bedroom is situated at the back of the apartment. One morning we even slept until 9:45 - a real treat and most unusual for us!!
I loved this flat. It was in a great location. It was not cluttered, but had everything needed. The bed and pillows were great. The air conditioning machine worked very well. I would definitely stay here again!! Future renters need to be aware that the flat is in a pedestrian-only area and the only available parking is 5 blocks away. I would recommend not renting a car. You can walk to the beach, restaurants and shops and parking is hard to find and/or expensive.
The Old Town of Nice is a blur of colours, scents, boutiques and restaurants; a great place to explore. Rue de la Croix, although very central, is located just above the hustle and bustle so you can enjoy the atmosphere without being disturbed by it. Markets, musicians, churches and galleries abound and there is something to discover around every corner. Visit Palais Lascaris, a 17th century Baroque palace to travel back in time or just soak up the atmosphere of the modern day city where locals and tourists rub shoulders at every turn. For an oasis of green amid the city streets the Promenade du Paillon is 200m from your door, with areas for children, picnics, strolling, and quiet contemplation. Less than a 5-minute walk to the beach and a 3-minute walk to the nearest tram stop La Croix is conveniently located to make the most of everything Nice has to offer.
