About Angie Flippin

Obie and Gena built this cabin by hand on land that Obie grew up on. It was meant to be a weekend getaway, but with 5 grandkids involved in sports, they just do not have the time to spend there that they would like. So, they have decided to share their paradise with you. Hope you love it as much as they do.

Angie Flippin purchased this cabin in 2000

Beyond expectations!

  • 5 of 5

This cabin was so beautiful and so charming with incredible views and privacy! The pictures don't come remotely close to doing it justice, which was reflected by the numerous "wow's" my girlfriend kept saying when we arrived.

The town is an easy fifteen minute drive for supplies or a redbox, but aside from food, pretty much everything is provided. Plenty of firewood, linens, and towels. The cabin itself was spotless and looks like it had just been built. The owner is easy going and friendly, great to communicate with. If you're on the fence, don't hesitate, you won't regret it. We'll definitely be back!

Beautiful cabin in a beautiful place!

  • 4 of 5

My husband and I stayed at this beautiful cabin for my birthday! It was, relatively, easy to get to and even though we felt like we were very "away from it all" it was only a short drive to get dinner or visit a grocery store (in Independence, VA). The decor of the cabin was so nice and very "mountain-y"! We arrived on a Friday afternoon and although it rained all night and most of the day Saturday it did not dampen our enjoyment of this quiet and beautiful setting. Finally on Saturday evening the rain and clouds blew away and we were able to see so many, many stars! It was another added plus to being away from town lights. It was slightly inconvenient for the bathroom to be downstairs while the bedroom was in the loft, but I really can't say that it took away from our enjoyment of this cabin. We will be back!

The cabin was extremely clean, and the grounds surrounding the house were amazing.

We had a wonderful 3 nights celebrating our 35th wedding anniversary. We needed a secluded, quiet place to decompress and rest. Pine Mountain Escape was perfect!!!!!

Peace and quiet and wildlife!!

  • 5 of 5

We have rented several cabins in the mountains thru VRBO but this is far above any of those! It was the cleanest we have ever stayed in and decorated so cute. The fall touch such as pumpkins, gourds and scarecrows were fantastic! We enjoyed fires in the fire pit, rocking on the porch and saw deer, turkeys and a bunny in the yard. When we could tear ourselves away from the cabin the sightseeing was breathtaking! We enjoyed every minute of our long weekend! We will recommend Pine Mountain Escape to all couples looking for a beautiful place to stay.

A real find!

  • 5 of 5

I can't say enough about the location, condition and privacy this property affords. Cabin is equipped with everything one needs and was scrupulously clean.I'm used to living in privacy and seclusion and this cabin gave me what I'm used to.Close to Galax Virginia a wonderful town with old southern charm. The backroads in close proximity to the cabin made for some wonderful sightseeing. The views from any window in the cabin were outstanding, the property exterior and landscaping were impeccable. The only thing I would change would be a king sized bed,and one offering a teeny bit more comfort, other than that (5) stars + is my rating, hope to go back in the future.Owner was outstanding to deal with.
