About the property

This historic 1910 cottage has been meticulously cared for with each detail carefully considered. You will find fine linens and a well-stocked kitchen in anticipation of your every need. Cherish the picturesque views of the famous Mt. Vernon Avenue from the front porch.

Inside: You'll appreciate a clean and well-stocked vacation home. Generous sized bedrooms and two bathrooms provide a perfect environment for bringing friends and family together. The linens are rich; the towels are plush. Its details like these that have been carefully planned. The sofa in the front room even pulls out to a queen sized bed for unexpected visitors. The dining room seats 8 with plenty of room to spare. You'll love the location in relation to Prescott's downtown and the Square. Just a few blocks from the house you'll discover Whiskey Row, great dining and terrific shopping. If you're an antique lover, you'll enjoy strolling down Cortez. Imagine, walking to dinner. About Rindy Coons

We are a mother daughter team looking forward to making this lovely cottage an even more cozy and enjoyable home for the future guests.

Rindy Coons purchased this cottage in 2014

Why Rindy Coons chose Capital Territory & High Country

Before we made the commitment of moving to beautiful Prescott 2 years ago the first place our Realtor took us was up Mt Vernon. We fell in love with the history this street possessed. As soon as you turn on Mt. Vernon you will feel as if you has stepped back in time with the tree lined wide street with grand one-of-a-kind homes. So it was no surprise that once a home popped up for sale I knew I had to own a piece of history. The fact that this home is walking distance into downtown Prescott and a short drive to any other big city in Arizona such as Jerome, Scottsdale, Sedona, or Flagstaff just makes it an even more desirable vacation home.

Guestbook comments from the owner

My wife and I stayed in the cottage for a week. It was great!! We sat on the porch at the end of the day and enjoyed the perfect weather. The cottage is walking distance to downtown, a perfect location. Tom is super responsive and helpful. We will be back.

Cozy historic cottage in the heart of Prescott

  • 4 of 5

We enjoyed the easy walks to all that Prescott has to offer. The cottage was very comfortable and pet friendly. The noise on the street was minimized by using the new and very adequate air conditioning at night. During the day the rocking chairs on the front porch were a great place to read and enjoy the cooler weather.

Charm and location!

  • 5 of 5

On a street lined with historic charm, this cottage fits right in. We loved sitting on the porch and waving as happy dog walkers strolled by. Although not large, the space is efficient and decorated just as it should be.

The traffic can be a little tricky on the corner but the side entry driveway helps a lot. With only a few blocks to the square, we walked to just about every meal anyway.

Communication from the owner was great. We highly recommend staying here and experiencing all this great little town has to offer.

Charming historical cottage close to downtown

  • 5 of 5

My husband and I stayed here for a week with our two dogs. All in all this is a wonderful base for exploring Prescott. The cottage was very clean and had all the supplies we needed. The decorating is really nice as well. I noticed in a couple of previous reviews that people thought the lighting in the kitchen was inadequate. What I discovered was that the light switch controlling the overhead track lighting had a small dimmer slider on it (my husband didn't even see it!) that controlled the intensity of the lights. When turned all the way up it was quite bright and adequate for using the kitchen. The fenced front yard was great for the dogs, and on a couple of warmer days we enjoyed sitting on the front porch with them. The cottage is on the most beautiful street of victorian homes, and we enjoyed walking around the neighborhood with the dogs. There is street noise as some other reviewers have said, but I found that it quiets a night and didn't wake us up in the morning. Overall, a great place to stay, and much better than a cramped hotel room!

Quaint cottage

  • 2 of 5

Clean, cute cottage in the historic district in Prescott. Easy walking distance to center of town, restaurants. The only downside to this cottage is the street noise coming from automobiles driving up and down the street that is especially loud in the early morning from the front, larger bedroom. For a light sleeper like me, that was a big negative. The problem with the other bedroom which isn't on the street is the loud noise of the heater, located in the bedroom closet, periodically coming on and off.
