This historic 1910 cottage has been meticulously cared for with each detail carefully considered. You will find fine linens and a well-stocked kitchen in anticipation of your every need. Cherish the picturesque views of the famous Mt. Vernon Avenue from the front porch.
Inside: You'll appreciate a clean and well-stocked vacation home. Generous sized bedrooms and two bathrooms provide a perfect environment for bringing friends and family together. The linens are rich; the towels are plush. Its details like these that have been carefully planned. The sofa in the front room even pulls out to a queen sized bed for unexpected visitors. The dining room seats 8 with plenty of room to spare. You'll love the location in relation to Prescott's downtown and the Square. Just a few blocks from the house you'll discover Whiskey Row, great dining and terrific shopping. If you're an antique lover, you'll enjoy strolling down Cortez. Imagine, walking to dinner. Afterwards, stop at The Rose for a nightcap and some of the best pie you've ever had (trust me, I know!) and then strolling just a few blocks home.
Outside: A new Fenced in front yard will give you a bit more privacy while adding more curb appeal. Also, the side yard provides a cozy area to relax and BBQ some dinner while enjoying the beautiful Prescott weather.
We are a mother daughter team looking forward to making this lovely cottage an even more cozy and enjoyable home for the future guests.

Before we made the commitment of moving to beautiful Prescott 2 years ago the first place our Realtor took us was up Mt Vernon. We fell in love with the history this street possessed. As soon as you turn on Mt. Vernon you will feel as if you has stepped back in time with the tree lined wide street with grand one-of-a-kind homes. So it was no surprise that once a home popped up for sale I knew I had to own a piece of history. The fact that this home is walking distance into downtown Prescott and a short drive to any other big city in Arizona such as Jerome, Scottsdale, Sedona, or Flagstaff just makes it an even more desirable vacation home.
My wife and I stayed in the cottage for a week. It was great!! We sat on the porch at the end of the day and enjoyed the perfect weather. The cottage is walking distance to downtown, a perfect location. Tom is super responsive and helpful. We will be back.

Clean, cute cottage in the historic district in Prescott. Easy walking distance to center of town, restaurants. The only downside to this cottage is the street noise coming from automobiles driving up and down the street that is especially loud in the early morning from the front, larger bedroom. For a light sleeper like me, that was a big negative. The problem with the other bedroom which isn't on the street is the loud noise of the heater, located in the bedroom closet, periodically coming on and off.
The cottage was charming. Very comfortable furnishings and nicely decorated and appointed. We (senior couple and 2 dogs) spent 3 nights over the New Year's holiday. We cooked several meals and there was plenty of dishware and cooking utensils. The bathrooms were not pictured on the website so I was pleasantly surprised that they have been modernized. The large fenced front yard was a convenient and safe place for our dogs. If the weather had been dry the dogs would have loved lounging on the front porch watching the neighborhood comings and goings. The house is located in an historic neighborhood close to downtown if you don't mind walking more than a few blocks. We live in Phoenix so we travel to Prescott several times a year. We would rent this lovely house again.
Our family of 2 senior adults and 2 dogs enjoyed 3 nights in the Mt. Vernon Cottage over the New Year's holiday. This lovely single level bungalow was nicely decorated and appointed. It was clean and comfortable and we lacked no amenities. We cooked a few meals and found adequate dishware and cooking utensils. Loved the skylight over the dining table! The bathrooms were not pictured on the website but I was very pleased to find them modernized. The large front yard has a very secure fence with a gate leading to the sidewalk. Being rainy during our visit, our dogs did not take advantage of spending much time in the yard, but they would have liked lounging on the front porch watching the neighborhood in better weather. This is an older home on a quiet street in an historical neighborhood of Prescott. It is close to downtown and within walking distance to the "square" if you like to walk more than a few blocks. We found no fault with the property and would consider renting it again. We live in a city neighborhood in Phoenix and we love getting away to Prescott.
Really enjoyed the location of the cottage. A short walk to downtown. The front yard and nice porch were very enjoyable. The property was clean but I had some maintenance issues and a lot of black hair on the floor and the second bedroom sheets. YIKES. The heating was a real problem but the owners had it fixed by day two. Never did get the internet going, couldn't find the second set of keys and many of the lights were not working. Made it a bit tough to see at dinner table and kitchen in the dim lights or dark. Id stay again because it was such a cute place, but id call ahead and make sure everything is confirmed working properly and rewash the linens.
We were so impressed with the cottage. It had charm and made us feel so comfortable. They had everything we needed to prepare our Thanksgiving Dinner. We loved going back in history to the early years when this cottage was first built. It had all the modern conveniences which was nice. The cottage was immaculate. Had plenty of hot water for showers. Bedding and towels were plentiful and nice. We pretty much stayed at the Cottage for all our meals. We had ordered Thanksgiving dinners and brought with us so all we had to do was heat them up. Would definitely recommend to friends if they want to be part of history. Would like to come back when the weather is a bit warmer and can enjoy sitting out on the porch and watching the people go by. We did walk one day down to Whiskey Row. The walk down was good but walking back up is quite a chore. Actually called my son to come and get us as I felt the climb back up was a bit much for an 83 year old. It was fun checking out all the shops along the way. I give this place a five star rating. Thanks for the memories. The Jacobs family.
We thoroughly enjoyed our month stay in Prescott. The house has everything you need and is clean and well kept. It is very spacious. The front grassy area is lovely and the side yard is quite private. The whole area is in the Historic part of Prescott and the street is very pretty with trees lining the sidewalks. It is very close to the courthouse square and the famous 'whisky row'. There is a lot to do in Prescott, hikes, lakes and many restaurants to try. This house is conveniently located for everything. We will definitely visit again.
