About George Luzaich

We live locally in Nelson County in the Shipman area near Lovingston. We own a business in Afton and love going up to Wintergreen. We found that we would not make the trip very often because having a 3 year old makes everything a little more difficult. We decided to buy this place after staying up on the mountain several times and just loved the 'getting away' feeling. We are 45 minutes from the mountain, but it feels like being a world away and it is great. It is a kid/family friendly setup that offers the convenience of most amenities.

George Luzaich purchased this townhome in 2014

Why George Luzaich chose Virginia

We bought this property for several reasons: 1) it is convenient to everything (I keep harping on this, but 4th of July was awesome when we had only a 5-10 minute walk when we kept forgetting things) 2) It feels like a home 3) we may move up here full time at some point and this property offers everything we could ever want.

Terrific mountain getaway

  • 5 of 5

We had a fantastic time during our stay! George was extremely friendly and accommodating – he gave us great tips about the area including grocery shopping recommendations (Food Lion in Waynesboro).

A quick note about previous reviews and the # of stairs. We went during the off-season and parked close to the condo. The stairs are not steep and they added *maybe* 15 seconds onto our walk. Our small dog Lilly had no problems navigating the stairs at all. This situation may be different during peak season but we had no issues at all during our stay.

The condo itself is well equipped, well-furnished and super comfortable. The kitchen had everything we needed and the appliances worked great (we had a little trouble using the Keurig). The TVs, cable and internet all worked without a problem. We even used the fireplace a few times during the chilly nights.

This was our first time visiting Wintergreen and we’ll definitely come back!

Very pleasant stay in the mountains of Virginia

  • 5 of 5

I stayed at George's condo in Wintergreen for a few weeks in the spring and early summer and it was fabulous! The condo is well equipped, close to great hiking, quiet and serene. George was a dream to work with, answering my questions promptly, working with me to hammer out a long term deal, and generally being a nice guy. The cable and internet at the condo are more than adequate, though my cell service was spotty. I would happily recommend this condo to anyone (and, yes, as other reviewers have noted, there are a lot of stairs, but I didn't find that to be a problem at all). All in all, a really nice place!

Perfect for me

  • 4 of 5

I will reiterate what another person said ...... there are a lot of stairs. Take that into consideration. The place has everything I needed and I was there 2 months. All I needed was food. It was a great retreat for me. The fireplace created a wonderful ambience for the holidays. It was close to a couple resuarants I could walk to and enjoy. The place itself has a wonderful layout and great kitchen. I liked having the master bedroom downstairs. It felt so cozy. The host was perfect. He contacted me quickly and no problems with finances. He gave me what I needed .... a way to get hold of him when needed and the privacy I was there for.

Perfect location in Wintergreen

  • 5 of 5

We thoroughly enjoyed staying at this home on our recent trip to Wintergreen area. Location was perfect for our needs. So much to do in this area with walking/hiking right out the door; numerous breweries/cideries/wineries within a few miles drive; and, ski lodge within walking distance for choice of restaurants. Home is well kept, clean, and nicely laid out for two couples (or family). And, George was quick to respond to all questions. Thanks for the lovely weekend!

It was a very pleasant visit.

  • 4 of 5

The only reasons that there aren't 5 stars is because there were so many stairs going down to the Townhome. When I read ground level, I thought that meant no stairs.

The place wasn't that easy to find. We didn't know how large the Wintergreen Resort was. It was also dark and raining when we arrived.

The final reason is that the refrigerator opened from the wall side rather than the counter side. Apparently it isn't the kind that easily changes the way it opens.

We sincerely appreciate the opportunity to stay in this vacation home. It was nicely furnished. Our host was very gracious and even though we didn't need him, it was nice to know that he was easily available. We were able to reconnect with family and enjoy our visit. The double bed upstairs and the queen bed downstairs in the master suite were very comfy and the Kitchen was fine to fix meals when we didn't feel like going out.

I would suggest that anyone else that stays here bring not very much luggage due to the stairs. Soup & Sandwich material, drinks, and snacks as well as breakfast bagels and cream cheese came in very handy on our trip. We brought paper goods and plastic utensils, but they weren't needed. Everything needed was in the townhome.

wonderful, quick weekend getaway

  • 5 of 5

We decided to take a quick weekend trip to WG for skiing. Found the property vy easily. Plenty of parking and vy good location - within walking distance to Mountain Inn and skiing, etc. Condo is much larger than pics shows. Large bedroom upstairs, full bath, top notch kitchen, good size living room, but the big hit was the huge deck which gets sun all day long! Downstairs is a vy large master bedroom/bath. We enjoyed the fireplace - always nice on a cold weekend. Everything was vy relaxing, easy to get to, walk to skiing, etc., etc. Really enjoyed our stay. George was incredibly responsive and easy to work with. We only wish we could have stayed longer!

The property is a 5 minute walk from the ski resort as well as 2 restaurants and bar. Trails abound and there are hiking trails accessible outside the back door. It is a convenient/comfortable place to relax and enjoy the mountains. We are a very short drive from the breweries and wineries in the area as well!
