About James G
Recently married, we live near Sheffield and between us we have a son and a daughter.
James G purchased this House in 2015
Why James G chose Alhama de Murcia
We loved this place from a couple of years ago - we visited with family in 2012 and vowed to buy a house here when we could. We did so late last year and are loving it! We love over-looking the pool and garden - watching the kids play. We love the roof top solarium for private sunbathing or dining in the evening. And the neighbours are all extremely friendly and fun
What makes this House unique
Lovely year-round weather - hot and sunny all summer long. There's no need to leave the development - everything you need for a relaxing break is here - Supermarket, bars, restaurants, golf, sporting facilities, but easy 10 minute drive to the beaches and ports

Great value compact apartment for a small family
As a family of four, we stayed for 10 days during August at Condado de Alhama. We hired a car from the airport which we had at our disposal for the whole of our time.
Firstly, we would like to thank James for the excellent communications we had making the booking. James answered all our questions fully and in a timely manner and provided detailed arrival instructions which lead us straight to the apartment.
Condado de Alhama is a large complex located some distance away from most other places of interest and from the coast, so a car is essential. The complex is really well maintained and clean; the roads, landscaping and the pool which is right in front of the apartment, had service personnel regularly attending to them. Within the complex is a “Square”, a few minutes’ walk away from the apartment where there are several restaurants, all reasonably priced and which had a nice busy atmosphere in the evenings. There is well stocked supermarket and an ATM machine (it ran out of money and remained out of use to the day we left), so beware if you don’t have a car and need cash! The complex is great for families with younger children and it feels really safe. The conclusion of our teenage children was that teenagers on their own should give it a miss as this is not a partying hot spot!
The apartment itself is reached up an external staircase of one flight. There is a small balcony by the apartment front door overlooking the very nice pool. Even though the pool is in such close proximity, noise was not a problem, nor was it ever overcrowded. A further flight of stairs takes you to the solarium on the floor above. There are sofas and a dining table and chairs. It was a nice place to spend some time, during the late evening in particular.
The apartment is compact and clean inside having all the essentials for spending a week or two. Though each of the bedrooms had a fan, the single aircon unit in the sitting room was insufficient to cool the bedrooms enough to make them comfortable (for us). There were a couple of minor irritants, which we brought to the attention of James, but they were not enough to spoil our enjoyment nor should that comment put anyone else off from booking it.
The accommodation isn’t 5 star luxury but it isn’t pretending to be at the price point it is being rented at and we would therefore give it a thoroughly well-deserved 4 stars for value for money and an honest description of it by James. Thank you James.
The apartment had everything we needed to enjoy our stay, we recommend.
The nearest towns of Alhama de Murcia, Mazarron and Puerto Mazarron offer a mix of styles to suit all tastes. Alhama de Murcia - The name Alhama relates to the hot thermal waters which flowed until the 1930's and attracted both the Romans and the Moors to build thermal baths, which have today been converted into the town's Archaeological Museum, Los Baños. Alhama also has a well preserved Pósito, a municipal grain store, a castle, currently undergoing restoration and the Iglesia de san Lázaro.
Puerto de Mazarron is a small port surrounded by seafront bars and restaurants - The coastline at Puerto de Mazarron boasts many kilometres of fine unspoilt sandy beaches with safe bathing. The municipality has been awarded the coveted Blue Flag for water quality over consecutive years, and The World Health Organisation recently declared the province of Murcia the cleanest in Spain with the least industrial pollution.
Mazarron - If you are interested in exploring the history and culture of the region then you are in luck as Mazarron is rich with archaeological remains and ancient buildings, which tell the tale. Interesting sites include the Old Alum Factory, the Velez Castle, dating back to the 15th century, the old Mazarron Mining Reserves, the 16th century San Andres Church and the Roman Milestone, datingback from the 3rd century
On the coast surrounding Mazarron, there are 35km of beaches - many being Blue Flag beaches - the beach of Bolnuevo being the finest - Situated in the bay of Mazarron, around 6 kilometres from the town itself, it was originally a peaceful, sheltered fishing bay, and has retained much of the peaceful and traditional charm of old.
The Sierra Espuña is a pine-clad haven of cool in the summer and a glorious place to take a walk at any time of the year. The park's 25,000 hectares is a maze of walks and routes, with recreational areas and restaurants provided for the visitors who flock to this area for Barbeques. Why not visit the Snow Houses built in the 16th Century to store ice, The Badlands Mirador de Gabas or the Dinosaur Trail
