A quintessential gem
We spent the weekend at this wonderful property to celebrate a family birthday and we felt at home from the moment we arrived. The children were in heaven exploring the different rooms, books and toys, and just when we thought it couldn’t get any better they discovered the dressing up box!
One thing worth saying is the stair case from ground to first is quite steep and is painted wood rather than carpet, my mother found it a little tricky and needed to take it very carefully, just an FYI for anyone with limited mobility.
All in all a glorious weekend - I will always remember waking up and opening the curtains to see a Pheasant perched on the gate post and the sheep and horses roaming around - such a treat and scene change from London! Hope to come back again to make more memories
Fantastic place, full of character.
This large rambling property is full of character. The large kitchen has a large dinning table and adequate seating for everyone to eat together (not always the case in some places).
I'm glad you enjoyed it. We've always found it a great place with plenty of room to get all the family together.
Great stay with friends
This was a great property for our large group of friends including babies and toddlers. The property is well located not far from Bridport and plenty of beaches. Great communication with the owner prior to our arrival.
We are so glad you enjoyed staying at our home. Our children loved growing up here, playing in the garden, going to the beach and market. They still do even though they are now at university and beyond and really enjoy bringing their friends home.
Long weekend family holiday
We have just returned from an unforgettable weekend in the most beautiful cottage and surroundings. My family were so happy there - none of us wanted to leave! It is idyllic in every way. The owner was so friendly and welcoming - the cake was delicious! I couldn't recommend it highly enough and hope to return again.
Beautiful property and gardens
We had a wonderful time. Everything about the property was great-the location, the property itself and the wonderful garden
A multigenerational family holiday in June
We were a family group, including a couple in their 90s, which Victoria very kindly accommodated in the ground floor 2nd sitting room, and substituted the sofa bed for a proper bed, which was greatly appreciated. The house is very spacious and has a welcoming feel. I gave it less for location only because walkers amongst us felt it was a shame that the footpaths were not very near and some very overgrown, but apart from that, the countryside is beautiful and Bridport nearby, so something for everyone. Country pubs all around with a good standard of food. We enjoyed our stay, despite rather disappointing weather.
It was lovely to meet you and I'm glad your parents-in-law were comfortable. I'm sorry the footpaths were overgrown - everything is growing so fast. The walks around here are amazing and link into the Monmouth Way and footpaths around Symondsbury and even a long walk to the sea. I am happy to give directions if needed.
