Located at the foot of world-famous Bourbon Street, our property has among the best locations in New Orleans. Walk out the front door and you're two blocks from Frenchmen Street's jazz clubs, three blocks from the French Market and Mississippi River, four blocks from the clubs/restaurants of Bourbon Street, and short walks to dozens of other attractions, eateries and lounges. No car necessary, here!

Our home is a 4 bedroom/4 bath upscale property on a quiet block of Bourbon Street. (Yes, such things DO exist!) Mostly residential but so close to everything!! Each bedroom features a queen bed, private bath, luxury linens both in room and bath, upscale furnishings, high ceilings with fans, central air/heat, iPod docks, and more.

For many years, we've operated this property exclusively as a B&B prior to entering the whole-house rental market for select dates.

The luxury of this property doesn't stop at the house's doors. Step outside in back and you'll find an amazing courtyard with tropical plants, a fountain, wrought iron table for 4 and further seating under the newly-built covered pavilion for 6 more. Groups will find our home the perfect spot from which to see New Orleans and have some great quality time with each other while at the house. Please note that this is an upscale property and we do not cater to bachelor parties. Sorry, guys!

About John Ramsey

Owners are both MBA graduates of Tulane University. Renovated the house in the late 1990s as an award-winning city-licensed B&B and are constantly upgrading and making it even better! We like to travel and extensively use VRBO ourselves.

Location, location, location!!! We've operated as a B&B for 21 years but now want to let guests experience this building with their friends. Guests will have the entire building to themselves!

We're biased, of course, but guests over the years have told us what an amazing location we have. Combine that with a great well-maintained house and you've got a winner. And the house is fully stocked with everything you'll need. We provide the soft turkish cotton towels, the gadget-heavy kitchen, and basics like bath gel, shampoo, hair dryers, etc. We even have a great outdoor courtyard for relaxing!

What makes this house unique

Licensed by the City of New Orleans (#138481) , which is very important as it means we're properly insured and collecting taxes as required by law. Amazing open kitchen with lots of room to congregate. Nice touches like a Ninja blender and Keurig coffee maker, too! Beautiful walled courtyard with tropical plants, fountain and a brand-new pavilion offering covered outdoor seating. Custom linens, Turkish cotton towels, a full range of in-room amenities....not your typical sparse vacation rental room!

Wonderful House in a Perfect Location

We were so pleased with our stay at La Maison Marigny! The house was perfect for four couples. We each had our own bedroom with adjoining bathroom and the beautiful kitchen and outdoor space were large enough to accommodate all of us. John was a gracious host - answered all our questions and provided us with information about restaurants, transportation and sights to see. The location of this house is perfect! Frenchmen Street is just s few minutes walk away which allowed us to visit frequently during our stay and to hear some of the incredible musicians playing in the numerous clubs. The French Quarter is a short walk away as well so you won’t miss out on all that area has to offer either. Highly recommend La Maison Marigny!

Delightful overall with a few caveats

I would have given this property 5 stars, but for a few items.

The positives:

This property is lovely and the location perfectly situated for easy access to the French Quarter. Our group was made up of 7 adults and the set up of 4 bedrooms, each with their own bathroom, was ideal. We mostly used the lanai and kitchen areas, as they could accommodate us all easily. They also had the best lighting, by far.

The kitchen is fully decked out and as spacious as it looks in the photos. John, the owner, left us some local goodies and beer on our arrival, which was a nice touch.

There is a huge washer/dryer and towels are soft and plentiful.

The not-so-positives:

- the sheets did not look or feel new or luxurious, even though John assured me they are. I notice I'm not the first reviewer to mention this;

- there were light bulbs missing/burned out;

- items such as tissues, soap and shower gel were missing or low.

Overall, this is a very nice space in a quiet location. John was a pleasure to deal with and I'm sure that had I had the time to address the issues on arrival, these would have been handled quickly, as John was very responsive to all communications.

Owner's Response: Thanks for the review! We only use all-cotton sheets but did replace all of our inventory this week just to make sure we have top-notch bedding. The other items were simple maintenance fixes and all have been corrected. One of the light bulb issues ended up being a bad dimmer switch rather than bulbs, which we check regularly. We replaced it. As you can imagine, It's a 100+ year old house so it keeps us busy at times! Thanks again for staying with us and we're pleased that you enjoyed our home!

Wonderful quiet house in perfect location.

This was a fantastic place to call home for our time in New Orleans.

It was great to find a house so close to everything, and yet so tranquil and relaxing.

Everything is perfectly maintained and the house was well equipped and had everything one could ask for.

John was the most responsive and helpful host I've ever had.

I would definitely stay at "La Maison Marigny" again; 10/10.

Feel like a (spoiled) local

Maison Marigny is PERFECTLY located—close enough to the French Quarter to be convenient to those attractions, yet far enough away that you're not bombarded with noise and a tourist-y feel. The house is spacious, the kitchen is well-equipped, and the back patio is a lovely place to gather and relax to the soothing sounds of the fountain.

Fantastic house in great location!

This house has everything. All four bedrooms have their own baths. The kitchen is large and well equipped and looks out on a beautiful courtyard. The weather was wonderful during our stay and as a result we spent a lot of time in the charming courtyard. You will not need a car as the house is in a great location. Just a wonderful home in a wonderful city!

Please note that we will usually guarantee reservations up to 365 days in advance of arrival. We offer discounts for guests willing to pay via check, PayPal, Chase QuickPay, etc. Inquire about these discounts by emailing the owner. It's an easy way to avoid some fees and charges.

We are a city-licensed and properly insured short-term rental establishment so we have to pay taxes and fees to the City of New Orleans. Tax amounts are presented to guests at time of inquiry and are subject to change based on the whims of the Louisiana Legislature! (If ANY property on this site or others claims you owe no taxes, then the property is operating illegally. ALL lodging properties in New Orleans...even if they have only one room... are responsible for state and local taxes.)

First come, first serve for reservations. We accept bookings up to one year in advance.

Here's our cancellation Policy: If Guest wishes to cancel his/her reservation, the initial deposit (50% of room rate) will be refunded as follows:

75% if cancelled at least 90 days prior to the Check-in Date
50% if cancelled 75 days prior to the Check-in Date
The full balance will be charged 60 days prior to the Check-in Date and is non refundable at that point. For late cancellations within 30 days, we will attempt to rebook the unit(s). If we do, guests will receive an 80% refund.

Owner's Cancellation Policy

  • 100% refund if canceled at least 60 days before arrival date.
  • Service Fee fully refunded on cancellations that qualify for 100% refund.
