About Tom Turley

I'm a native to Los Angeles, I went to college at UCLA, and have lived in Southern California my whole life.

Tom Turley purchased this cabin in 2012

Why Tom Turley chose Inland Empire

I first visited Lake Arrowhead as a child and then spent much of my teen years skiing in the San Bernardino mountains. We did Lake Arrowhead events in college and I continued to go up to the mountains frequently as an adult. Eventually I made the decision to buy a vacation home in Lake Arrowhead, it’s nice to be able to get from anywhere in LA or Orange County to an alpine retreat in only an hour and 30-45 minutes.

What makes this cabin unique

Watching the sun rise over the lake, the smell of the pine trees, the cooler air during the hot Los Angeles summers. A white Christmas and snow skiing in the winter.

Everything that was promised!

  • 5 of 5

We rented this house for 13 of us and it didn't disappoint. I had read so many fantastic reviews about the owner, Tom, and they were all correct. We had a couple of issues that I needed to get in touch with him about during our trip and he was very responsive each time. The house has all the amenities one could want - they even added paddleboards and life jackets. I'd definitely recommend this to large families. You won't be disappointed.

Great location, perfect for families, lake views, beautiful home!

  • 5 of 5

We had such a great experience and enjoyed Lake Arrowhead staying at this beautiful and comfortable home. This home is perfect for families as it has 4 bedrooms, a loft, a game room, and lake views off both balconies. I was able to set up a booster seat at the dining table for meals and my toddler loved running around the house. The stairs up to the loft and down to the lower level were not an issue for my toddler, he actually had lots of fun going up and down! We visited the village several times and did grocery shopping at Stater Bros in the village. The kitchen was fully stocked and we cooked most of our meals and had a Sunday BBQ out on the balcony. We enjoyed the game room several times and had movie night which was fun and relaxing. We walked down to the lake twice and I liked the fact that we were able to walk from the house. We drove to Tavern Bay Beach Club one afternoon and had a great time there. My son played in the water and sand while other members in my group relaxed under a shaded tree. I recommend bringing an umbrella or canopy to the beach club as there's not much shade. I loved the fact that there's playgrounds at the beach clubs and at the village behind Lollipop Park. The Burnt Mill Beach club I recommend visiting when you visit the village as it's located nearby. Concerts at the village was fun! We enjoyed two evenings listening to live music. Bring a blanket to lay on the grass area and you're all set. There are people that bring lawn chairs but sitting on the grass worked better for our group. My son would run around and we bought candy apples, ice cream, and gelato at the stores adjacent to the grass area. I recommend going on the queen boat tour, we got to the village around 10am to buy tickets for the first tour at 11am. My family and I had a wonderful experience and enjoyed staying at Tom's house. Tom is very thoughtful and left us fresh flowers and a welcome basket! We will consider staying here again next year for another summer family trip. I think Lake Arrowhead is a mountain retreat, especially staying at this house and it's so family oriented! You won't be disappointed booking this house for your stay.

Felt Right At Home

  • 5 of 5

Tom was very helpful and went above my expectations. He ensured we had made it to his home safely, as there was weather rolling in while we were heading up there. He also leaves a welcome basket for his guest, which is very kind of him. He ensures all of his guest have everything they need and is available in case anything is needed. Very beautiful spacious home and well kept. I would highly recommend anyone to stay at this home, dealing with the owner is very easy and stress free.

Great house for large gatherings

  • 5 of 5

This was a great experience for me and my extended family! We had 9 adults and three small children (4 year old, 3 year old, and 1 year old) and it was perfect. The house was spacious enough that we didn't feel too enclosed (important when traveling with toddlers) but it was warm enough that we got in plenty of together time. The location was good for walks (very quiet neighborhood) and the house itself was spacious. The kitchen is a bit small but we didn't find it to be an issue at all since there's a large island and dining room right by it. It was raining pretty hard the weekend we were there and the heating worked great and we were very comfortable. Tom was super easy to work with and very accommodating and we were welcomed with a lovely gift basket on our arrival. All in all, great experience!!

Great owner! Wonderful location! Perfect cabin!

  • 5 of 5

How many wonderful things can I say about the entire experience of staying at this cabin? From the first contact in September with the owner, Tom, to our final contact in January, he has been nothing but exceptional!! Tom's the kind of guy you just want to invite for a cup of coffee so you can visit just a little longer.

We were greeted with a lovely vase of fresh flowers in the kitchen and a nicely appointed welcome basket in the fridge!

The cabin was beautifully decorated for Christmas, even with a wonderful large Christmas tree!! This was perfect as we were exchanging some gifts while at the cabin, and it was so homey to be able to have them under the tree.

The fireplaces kept both the upper and lower rooms at a comfortable temperature as it snowed outside.

The kitchen was well stocked with a large variety of cookware (some brand new in the packaging) and pantry staples. There was a large number of dishes, too. But if you have a large group (9 or more) and will be eating 2-3 meals a day at the cabin, you might want to bring a few disposable cups, flatware, and plates. We just hand washed everything a couple of times a day. (There is a dishwasher, we just did not want to run it more than once a day ;)

The location is beautiful!! It's an easy walk to the lake, you have beautiful views from the decks, and no neighbors on one side, just trees!! The tree spotted hill next to the cabin was perfect to sled down!! Yes, we even made snow angels, a snow man, and had a snowball fight! You could not have asked for a better time!! (or location, or owner to deal with!).

I would definitely recommend this cabin to my friends and family, and I would be happy to return to it any time.
