The stay was fair, the FOLLOW UP was disgraceful!

We chose this property for our yearly family vacation. The property is a great location and for the most part a great space. The view was great! A nice sitting area but cushions were soaked from the rain and no umbrella to cover. You can see the property has has some DIY projects that need refining. Upon arrival we found the property to be hot and musty maybe the first arrival of the season ?Took quite awhile to cool off at the time of year considering the square footage, I have found in past rentals the property is made ready for arrivals. The slider door on the bottom level in the bunk room for the kiddos had not way to be locked, so we rigged up a lock using something my Son had in his truck that had to be tied and untied the whole trip. We also needed to wash all towels and a comforter and sofa throw as it was very musty smokey mildew smellyBring some trash bags we had 3 and bring some kitchen towels there is only one you will need to bring your own firewood if you want a fire downstairs and the one upstairs was broke. We did get some for smores at the lovely firepit.Would recommend light on steps as it is very dark to walk down flight of stairs a bit steep. So my main recommendation would for sure be take pictures upon arrival of any damage and all the things you see Almost two weeks after our vacation we received email that our CC was charged for extra cleaning. I am still very disturbed by this. A charge for damage that was there when we arrived we joked about how it must have happened. Also, we were accused of having left dog feces and urine ALL AROUND THE HOUSE who would do such a thing? I can assure we would not. This is a blatant lie! Six adults walked that property over and over making sure the check list was done correctly as well as any left behind items! Besides the fact our pet is crate and potty trained was left ONE time in the whole week this is absurd and deceitful. There were prior urine stains we could see upon arrival that were not ours I am angry at myself because I thought about taking pictures..and you can smell there have been pets downstairs not too bad but you can tell. Hopefully, the money will actually go for carpet cleaning this time I am sure I am not the first one. Because if you are going to charge for made up messes you sure are for real ones. They say they have cable but they do not, we had to get a subscription for something through the Playstation to watch TV. Nothing to secure trash everyday racoon dumpit

Owner's Response: Thank you for the review. We're glad that you enjoyed the house and it's location. For those of you reading this review, please know that a relatively large patch of carpet threads were dug off the steps by a dog, and it appeared that the dog was left unattended downstairs. The carpet damage was not there previously. Accidents happen. We are NOT super picky about small incidents. Although, a hole dug into a carpet is significant. If you notice anything significant, you should photograph it upon arrival. Especially if you are traveling with a pet. We only assess a damage fee to repair the property when the damage is significant and detrimental to the enjoyment of future guests. Additionally, we are available for maintenance during any stay. We were not contacted about any issues with the house during this stay. Everything in the review has been addressed. The carpet was repaired, solar lights were added to the steps, the lock was adjusted, and new cushions were purchased for the deck. If the house was humid, it is probable that the AC wasn't left on prior to arrival early in the season. During the summer, we leave the AC on between guests. Odors have never been an issue in this house. Obviously, things occasional pick inopportune times to stop working or break. Please give us an opportunity to fix a situation before simply leaving a review. It's easy to correct a problem left in a review, but, when possible, we would rather correct issues immediately so that the property meets your expectations. By the way, this guest did identify a mistake that was in our system. We inaccurately had this house listed as having cable. It actually has Antenna Channels and WiFi. It is now correctly listed.

Great views! Great multi-family house!

  • 5 of 5

The views of Beaver Lake and the neighborhood are the best things about this property. We stayed here with two sets of adults and a baby, and the layout was perfect. The multiple levels allowed everyone their space and the open living/dining room was great for everyone to relax together. The views from the living room and the deck of the lake are very relaxing. Also, be sure to use the swings on the lower level patio. There isn't much in terms of shopping or restaurants around so be sure to bring food along, but the kitchen is very well-equipped.

Great Early Fall Weekend Stay

  • 5 of 5

House is exactly as described and has all of the amenities you come to expect with Homeaway properties. The best thing about the house is the fantastic view of the lake from the living room and great outdoor deck. We also spent both nights by the outdoor fire pit & enjoyed the hammock swings. Thanks for sharing your property with us!

Family Vacation

  • 5 of 5

A beautiful cabin with an awesome view of the lake. It was so peaceful and relaxing yet plenty to do, lots of room for the kids to play. The deck was great for meals so we could enjoy the view (weather permitting). The week went by too fast. It has a great fire pit as an added bonus for s'mores and more. We were from Iowa, Missouri & Texas so this was a nice place in the middle to meet. Thank you so much for all your helpful input.
