Central, modern, bright and very silent loft on the ground floor of a XV century monastery, completely furnished. Composed of a loft space with furnished living room and kitchen, 1 bedroom at separate level (with a king-size bed a bunk bed), 2 bathrooms (1 with tub and the other with shower).
The apartment is equipped with every comfort: air conditioning, independent heat, 1 television, SAT-TV, region 1 (for US and Japan) Blu-Ray DVD-player, region 2 (for UK and Europe) Blu-Ray DVD player, internet access and WiFi, color laser printer, hair dryer, nespresso coffee and cappucino machine, iron and ironing board and oven.
This is a unique place to stay. It has more of a "staying in a friends apartment" type of feel with the many personal items there. The stairs to the basement are an adventure, but the huge tub is fabulous! Location is great, close to center of town. Owners are very helpful.
Bologna was actually quite a bigger city than we imagined it to be, so it was a relief that the apartment was fairly near the centre.
It had absolutely everything you could need and was very thoughtfully planned out in terms of maximising available space. It was very clean and benefitted from some very friendly neighbours and locals -all of whom were happy to help out if we had a query.
Lots of space in the living area and -great plus - a pc and free wifi so that made checking things /booking ahead very easy to do.
Slight caveat if you don't like tight spaces/ steep stairs is that the bedroom is below the living room and accessed by a narrow spiral staircase.
At the top of the road is a great local bar, open from 6am and very friendly -many a pleasant evening there! And at the other end of the road was an equally local restaurant Mareluna - very reasonable and superb cooking, although there is obviously a huge choice of restaurants available.
We could and did walk to the train station but it was a fair 20 minute hike - so then we discovered the 21/30 or D bus all of which passed close to the apartment and made short walk of the trek.
We spend a week in the apartment but also visited Verona and Ferrara - very easy to do in a day.
We stayed at this loft in Bologna, parents and two teens, in January 2015. It was comfortable and very well appointed. The owner made sure we had everything we needed for a great stay. It was very close to the main attractions in the city (Piazza Maggiore, Duomo, university, Two Towers, Quadrilatero) and commercial area. You can access the historical area in Bologna with a ticket and park close to the apartment or you can do what we did and park a few blocks away, just outside the restricted traffic zone.
It's convenient for public transportation and for people arriving with a car.
Convenient for eating out and also for cooking at the apartment with the wonderful ingredients found at the quadrilatero. We would definitely go back and would also recommend it to other travelers.
Cet appartement est pratique car situé au coeur de Bologne, parfait pour visiter la ville.
Il est bien équipé et propre (rénové récemment).
Nous avons apprécié la cimatisation au coeur de l'été.
