8 minute drive to Mount Snow.
WELCOME to my Vermont home! You are sure to enjoy your stay.
In 2006, the home underwent it's first extensive renovation by Patrick (Master Builder and Co-Host of DIY's TV Show, Backyard Goldmines). He built the foundation and framed the current home.
The home is located in Wardsboro, a charming small country town that is very close to several ski resorts. The home is an 8 minute drive to Mount Snow and 19 minutes to Stratton Mountain. Wardsboro's famous general store is 1.5 miles from driveway. This Home is family and pet friendly. Children and dogs are always welcomed at Heyer House.
This year, all the beds have new mattresses and pillows. Linens, towels and paper goods are always provided at no extra charge.
With 3 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms and a washer/dryer, this is a very spacious home that provides everything for your entire group. Relax in front of the gas fire place. The living room has a TV/DVD with over 50 movie options to choose from. Guest have access to internet and NetFlicks. The kitchen is fully stocked with supplies and well equipped for entertaining. You are sure to enjoy the Vermont experience in this newly renovated historic riverside home. If guests wish to bring air mattresses, there is plenty of room to set these up. Also, there is a queen size air mattress in the "kid's" room closet. There is a small hill on the side of the house for kids of all ages to sled down. Two sleds are on site and for guest to use.
No need for 4 wheel drive or snow tires during snow season. House is located on the main road (Route 100). This road is always plowed first during any snow storm. Makes for easy access to and from the local ski resorts and never having to waste valuable "ski" time waiting for the road to be cleared. Remember, many of Vermont's vacation homes are located on dirt roads. Most times, these roadways require waiting for a local resident to plow them. Driveway is onsite and It holds up to THREE cars.
Manchester area is about 35-45 minutes away for those who don’t wish to ski. This area has numerous places for outlet shopping and fine dinning.

About Chris Theriault Fuchs
I have been the owner of Heyer House since 2013, after my mother passed away. I currently live in North Florida and work as a licensed real estate agent. My family and I are avid skiers and snowboarders. I spent part of my childhood in Wardsboro VT. I learned to ski and snowboard at Mount Snow. Also, I attended Wardsboro Elementary school, as did my nieces. Our family has deep roots in the area and are proud to call Wardsboro home. My brother, Patrick Arellano currently co-hosts on DYI's "Backyard Goldmines" home improvement show. He and his family still live in the Wardsboro area. Before our mother passed away, she was the visionary and project manager who created the barn renovation at Wardsboro's Library wing expansion. Currently, I'm working on my second degree; BS in Psychology at College of Coastal Ga.
Chris Theriault Fuchs purchased this House in 2006
Why Chris Theriault Fuchs chose Wardsboro
Heyer House was one of several homes in Wardsboro which had fallen into ruins due to many years of abandonment. The first renovation work began in 2006, when the home was purchased. During 2014, the house underwent the second phase of major renovation work. We are proud to take a home destroyed by decades of neglect and turn it into a modern showcase home.
What makes this House unique
During 1909 - 1923, this was home for the Reverend Oliver Heyer and his family. They were one of the first families to have telephone service.

Very nice inside great backyard to look at the river and close to Mt Snow
I’m glad you and your family enjoyed your winter vacation to Vermont. Thank you for staying at my home.
Great Snowboard Stay
This home was as described . Our purpose was skiing and snowboarding and the proximity to Mt Snow and Stratton were great!! Plus we actually had a lot of snow. Chris (owner) was very a helpful from the start. There is no local or cable TV and she made certain that wifi was in great working order so we could use Firestick to watch the olympics. The house was spotless with all the extras sheets towels which were not old and overused and the beds were new and comfy. We had a little problem with the heat but called Jim the maintenance man who came over immediately and fixed it. We would reccommend this home to others for sure. Thanks Chris!
Thank you for staying at my house. I’m glad your vacation was wonderful and snow filled! Please come back during the summer or fall. Vermont is beautiful all year long.
Perfect place to stay
My family (husband and two children) along with another family with two children stayed at this property for 3 nights to celebrate a 40th birthday and to go skiing/snowboarding. We truly enjoyed our stay there and would gladly go back.
As previous reviews have mentioned, the house is fully stocked. The kitchen had everything we needed to cook and there's a barbecue on the back deck which we also enjoyed using. The TV downstairs has netflix and tons of good DVDs for the children to watch along with another TV upstairs in the children's room. The bathrooms had plenty of toilet paper, soap, towels, etc. and it was nice to have a washer and dryer available along with laundry detergent available to use.
The children loved sledding in the back yard (sleds were also provided with the house) and the view of the river in the back was priceless. It was a perfect getaway from our busy lives at home and we will gladly return again.
Thank you for visiting Southern Vermont and staying at my home. I’m glad your family enjoyed their stay. Please come back and visit Vermont during the other seasons as there is always something going on.
A great Christmas get away!
We had a lovely stay and hope to get back at least once before ski season ends! Thank you Chris for being so easy to work with!
