Tastefully appointed home in a bucolic Tomales.
Five of us and our two small pups thoroughly enjoyed our stay here!! The home is warm and welcoming, with beautiful and tasteful decor, and a comfortable layout for cooking, visiting and relaxing. There is a large backyard with a wonderful pizza oven and outdoor seating! The drive to Dillon Beach is beautiful and we enjoyed our hike along the beach to the mouth of Tomales Bay. We also visited Bodega Bay and hiked the Pinnacle Gulch Trail to Durant Beach. The small town of Tomales and the surrounding farmland is a welcome respite from the city life. The host was very helpful and responsive. We would highly recommend this country retreat.
I've had my team of 3 guys staying there for a job in Marshall,
They absolutly enjoyed their stay and are returning again for a 3 weeks stay !
The place is absolutly lovely and comfortable, communication with the host was great !
I’d pick a different place if doing it over again
Family members were coming for a family event. I wanted a place to stay with my brother and sister who I do not see very often. It was a nice house, but old. Old plumbing, old hardwood floors that carry noise. The owner actually filed an insurance claim against us for a clogged toiled. Yes, that happened, and we spent the entire day looking for the plunger (off and on). It turned out to be in a dark corner of the garage.
The owner of the property was very micromanaging. I was pretty surprised to be spoken to the way she did. She was very condescending and accusing regarding the toilet and wanted to hold me responsible for a flaw with one of the front steps leading to the front door.
I had a good time connecting with my family, but would prefer not to deal with an owner like this. Most are very welcoming and hospitable; this owner is not.
My family and I had a wonderful weekend at this fantastic house. It is really nicely appointed and clean, the bathtub was a joy and the kitchen was well stocked with everything you would need to fix a tasty meal. We made pizza in the oven outside and that was super fun and delicious. Thank you so much for a relaxing weekend.
Beautiful and Peaceful Getaway
Catherine's house in Tomales is SPECTACULAR! Like many others, we were displaced due to the fires in Sonoma County, and Catherine's house served as a refuge for me and my family. The house was open, newly renovated, spacious and very inviting. The cool ocean breeze was calming and the little town of Tomales was adorable! We spent our days eating at the large dining table, driving a scenic and very short drive to Dillon Beach, walking around the quaint town of Tomales, picking apples from the apple tree in the backyard, and just relaxing in each other's company. There is a pizza oven in the backyard also... which was a huge hit! We had a pizza night and made some fantastic memories.
The house also allowed dogs, which was great since we had 2 Great Danes! The backyard is ginormous, and the pups really enjoyed running around in the open space. Oh, and the outdoor shower in the backyard was really fun too! It's very enclosed and private and it was so awesome to look up and see blue skies and birds flying.
Catherine was extremely accommodating, and very hospitable. I'd give her 10 stars if I could! We'll definitely be staying here in the future.
Nicole, I am so glad that our Tomales house offered a peaceful getaway and thank you for your lovely review. We are thinking of you and your family and wishing you all the best in the coming months. We would be delighted to welcome you back -- do stay in touch! Catherine
We attended a wedding at the town hall and the location and accommodations were perfect. Thank you so much
