Americans on a French Island
The house was well located for an easy walk in to town. It worked well for two couples. Although it was neat and clean, it was also "bare bones". We barely had enough toilet paper and there wasn't a convenient "supermarket". Fortunately we had our own bath products!! Our host made arrangements for us to rent linens---an added cost for unimpressive towels. The washer and dryer are small but we were happy to have them to use. We never cooked, instead enjoyed eating at the local restaurants. It would be helpful for future guests to have a map of the Island and a list of favorite places to eat---in a notebook in the house.
The landlord was easy to work with and answered our questions in a timely manner! This wonderful island was a favorite spot during our three weeks in France. It is off the beaten path for tourists which made our weekend stay a special cultural experience.
