About Carol A. Pitman
My husband and I were married on Bailey Island in 2002 at the Log Cabin Inn. We fell in love with Bailey Island and built a log cabin on Bailey in 2006. In January of 2014 we purchased this home which is next to our home....giving us 3 acres on Bailey now. We are excited for our children and grandchildren to enjoy this beautiful place and for you to experience the serenity and charm of Bailey island too.
Carol A. Pitman purchased this House in 2014
Why Carol A. Pitman chose Bailey Island
Bailey's Hidden Treasure was just completely renovated and beautifully decorated. It is warm and inviting with all modern amenities and lots of space inside and out to relax and play....even an elevated playhouse reached by a safe stairway with side handrails.
What makes this House unique

Hidden Treasure is a perfect home for a family vacation in coastal Maine. There were six of us, two adults, four kids aged 4 to 15. Everyone loved the house and garden/outdoor area. There were so many things for the kids to do inside and out and the playroom with all the toys was fantastic! The house is very well equipped for families with children.
All of the beds were comfortable and the house was immaculately clean.
It was cool in the evening and we had the gas fire on in the morning and evening which made it sooo cozy.
There are lots of coastal walks and friendly restaurants nearby, even late in the season (Columbus Day weekend).
High recommended for a family vacation!
Thanks so much for your kind words! I’m so happy that Hidden Treasure met your needs and that it enhanced your family’s stay on beautiful Bailey Iskand....hope you can come back soon.😊
Great house close to everything!
We loved this house, super comfortable, clean and has everything you might need. The layout of the living room and kitchen/dining area was just perfect and we felt right at home. This is a great home for families with children! We will definitely stay again when we visit Bailey Island!
The House was Great, best for kids. Everything was fun And clean And well furnished.
It actually was a great location even though it was not "on the water". The little walk-to alcove was charming and beautiful in the moonlight. Close to a lot of other sites, Cedar beach, Cook's restaurant, sone hiking. Overall great vacation, thanks Hidden Treadure.
Great stay in Bailey Island!
Thank you for an amazing time! The place was perfect. The binder of house info and area attractions made the stay so easy. Carol has thought of everything and that made it easy to relax and enjoy our time here. We could have not asked for a better experience and can't wait to come back!
Beautifully decorated and spacious and close to the Giant Stairs.
The house is decorated in calm blues and greens with lots of comfy seating and blankets that invite you to just cuddle up and breathe in the Maine air. The place was immaculate and roomy and a very short walk to the Giant Stairs and to a great Little Harbor when is perfect for swimming, even with children.
We have stayed in many vacation rentals, and this was by far the best one yet! Our family of four had more than enough space and were happy to be able to entertain friends who lived nearby as well. Just being at the home itself was a vacation for the adults and the kids in our group, with lots of space to relax and play, and so many toys for the kids. You really just need to bring your clothes - just about everything else is at the house for you to enjoy! There is plenty to explore on foot nearby, several good restaurants on the island, and an easy drive to Brunswick and beyond for plenty to do. We are already daydreaming of a repeat visit, and our kids can't stop talking about the "pirate house!"
Bailey island is a small, beautiful island in Harpswell, ME, accessible by crossing the Cribstone Bridge from Orr's Island. It has a working harbor where lobster boats unload their catch daily. On the island you are surrounded by breathtaking views and an abundance of natural beauty.....once you cross the bridge you feel like you have stepped back in time.
