this home is a safe and quite place to get away and still be close enough to all Lake Chapala and Guadalajara have to offer.
Our family had a wonderful time in Ajijic and especially at this home. Well appointed, comfortable, and good location for our tastes.
We had a lovely stay in this home. The house is bright, the furniture is comfortable, the outdoor area is pleasant and private, and it was a short hop to the closest main town (Ajijic).
The home is clean and very comfortable. I've stayed in a couple places in Mexico that had very uncomfortable furniture. This house was designed well, and the owners have ensured it's a comfortable place to spend time in.
We did not spend much time in the communal area, although the lakeside pool is very pretty.
Also, despite several really great evening thunderstorms, our internet was solid and constant, which is often a glitch in developing countries. Both my husband and I need the internet to work and were pleased with its reliability.
We were also pleased with the man who takes care of the property. He was very nice, fluent in English, and ensured we had everything we needed for our stay. While we had no need to call him for anything, he was clear he was available if we had any problems or questions.
The area has a number of good restaurants, shops, galleries, and, once one gets used to the cobblestones, it's a great place to walk and explore. One of my favorite restaurants was Ritchies88 on Colon Street, about a block and a half from the main road in Ajijic. Their salads and vegetarian baguette were wonderful!
We will consider this home for future stays in the area and recommend it to anyone who wants a quiet, peaceful, comfortable home that is a little outside the hub-bub of Ajijic, but still reasonably close to the main attractions in the area.
Ajijic is a town situated on the north shore of Lake Chapala, the area includes 100 miles of shoreline and is surrounded by the majesty of the Sierra Madre mountains, Ajijic enjoys an exceptional tropical climate year round.
Chapala Lake basin has a year-round average temperature of about 72 °F (22 °C). Ajijic is seldom unpleasantly hot or humid. The rainy season begins in June and lasts until October. Even during the rainy season, precipitation generally occurs during the evening or at night.
Having a wonderful climate promotes a lot of outdoor activities all year round. This is obviously beneficial to sports and fitness enthusiasts with golf, tennis, cycling, walking, hiking in the mountains, volley ball, softball, horseback riding, swimming – in fact, just about any outdoor activity. There are active community service and social organizations that welcome the participation of new residents of Ajijic. You will find it is a perfect place to study and practice art, Spanish language, and Mexican culture. A variety of classes are available through quality programs and local instructors.
The warmth and hospitality of the residents of Ajijic is contagious. You’ll be happy here!
