Overview

About the property

Located in the old city center, 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms, recently restored

Casa del Baronello is part of the main floor of one of the old palaces of the historic center of Palermo. Historically, the apartment housed the private rooms of the eldest son of the Baron, so-called “Baronello”. The apartment is now the ideal solution for all those who are looking for a charming and comfortable stay.

The apartment, recently restored, is characterized by large rooms featured by original decorated floors. The large windows, which make the spaces very bright, overlooking one of the most popular squares in the nightlife of Palermo. The ceiling of the master bedroom has maintained the original decoration, which have recently been restored.

The Palace is located in the beautiful setting of Piazza Montevergini, one of the most evocative of the historic center of Palermo. Located between Corso Vittorio Emanuele and Via Maqueda, it is very close to the most famous historical markets (Mercato del Capo, mercato Ballarò, and Sant'Agostino) and the major cultural attractions of Palermo, such as the Cathedral and the Royal Palace, the churches of Arab architecture as well as the Baroque style ones. Moreover, it is a really short and pleasant walk for the most beautiful streets of Palermo: by a 10-minute walk in the pedestrian zone of Via Maqueda it can be reached the famous Teatro Massimo, Piazza Politeama and shopping streets of the commercial area of the city.

Casa del Baronello is derived from some of the rooms of the main floor of the Palace of Family, rooms that historically were used as private apartments by "Baronello" (nickname which was once called the eldest son of the Baron). In the House you can breathe the air of times gone by, of ancient traditions and habits that no longer exist, but thanks to the wise work of recovery and restructuring, it is now possible to enjoy the charm of the past with the comforts of the present!

For guests who arriving by plane and need a transfer from the airport to our place, there is the opportunity to book at a cheap price a private car with driver. Instead, for those who travel by car it is possible to reserve a private car park with a small surcharge.

The apartment is equipped with all comforts and we are glad to welcome families with dogs.

Taste of Palermo @ Casa Baronello

  • 5 of 5

I stayed at Casa Baronello from September 21, 2016 thru October 2, 2016. Francesca greeted me, showed me around and made suggestions for restaurants, stores and tours. She was very helpful. Walking in the door, I immediately was struck by the beauty of the apartment. Both bedrooms were very spacious, the bathrooms clean and function and the kitchen was fully equipped, including a washing machine. The apartment is located on a small street right off the pedestrian walkway section of the Corso Vittorio Emanuele, within walking distance of the Quarti Canti, il Teatro al Massimo, the Capella Palatine, il Cathedral da Palermo, the Capo market and the central train station. I couldn’t have asked for a better location. I Facetimed with my friends and family back in the states and they loved the apartment. If I ever return to Palermo, I would definitely stay again at the apartment. I would highly recommend this apartment to anyone who is looking for one with lots of Italian charm, within walking distance of many historical sites and an amazing owner by the name of Francesca.

Stay at Baronello Apartment in Palermo, Sept 2016

  • 5 of 5

Great stay ! Apartment is big, airy, super clean and modern in a real palazzo ! High ceilings, big rooms, 2 bathrooms, equipped kitchen, dining area, even washing machine, can accommodate up to 6 people quite comfortably. Francesca and her parents welcomed us with warmth, prepared our beds and towels with taste and finesse and even had coffee , jam and toast for next morning for us. We appreciated all of it !

The apartment is really in the center of the historic area of Palermo, just few hundred meters from Quatro Canti Plazza, everything you want to visit is within walking distance. All in all was a great place to stay and we will recommend it to everyone who would like to have a pleasant stay in Palermo.

Beautiful Holiday at Casa del Baronello!

  • 5 of 5

Having just returned from our stay at the delightful Casa del Baronello in Palazzo Cupane, I could not wait to genuinely endorse this beautiful Palermo HomeAway! My friend and I chose a trip to Palermo to celebrate our 60th birthdays and spent 10 unforgettable days in this delightful Palace.

Our lovely hostess, Francesca, was very warm and welcoming! Francesca was very helpful and informative throughout our holiday. Francesca arranged a very reasonably-priced driver to pick us up and return us to the airport. We felt very secure knowing that Francesca would be available if we needed assistance or information during our stay.

Casa del Baronello is perfectly situated within the historic district. There is no need to rent a car, as many of the historical sites - Teatro Massimo, Politema, Cattedrale - are within walking distance. Via Vittorio Emanuele, the main road around the corner from the Palace, provides breathtaking views of the mountains and the sea from each direction. Casa del Baronello is surrounded by decadent restaurants and quaint artisan shops as well as convenient grocery stores. For two American female travelers, we found the neighborhood to be very safe and pleasant.

The Palace is beautifully restored and the apartment is very comfortable. The architecture reminds one of yesteryear while the apartment's amenities provide modern day convenience. High ceilings and marble floors reflect a regal atmosphere. With grand windows that open to the sound of seagulls and the feel of fresh air and the scent of bread baking, this apartment is truly a gem. The apartment is well-equipped with kitchen items, washing machine, great showers, and extremely comfortable beds.

Casa del Baronello is the perfect location for a holiday with friends or family! We plan to return to this beautiful HomeAway with our husbands and highly recommend Casa del Baronello to other travelers.

Splendid sojourn in Palazzo Cupane

  • 5 of 5

My wife and I, together with other family members, including a child, had the pleasure to stay recently (August 2015) for one week at the beautiful, historic and restored Casa del Baronello in Palazzo Cupane. Right from the warm personal welcome given by Francesca up to the end it has been a very pleasant and enriching experience.

To start with, the house has a very privileged location, particularly for us that decided not to rent a car. Just off the main street in the historic center (Via Vittorio Emanuele) and at walking distance from the Cattredale di Palermo, Palazzo dei Normanni, Via Maqueda, Teatro Massimo, Fontana Pretoria and many other places of historic and cultural interest (churches, museums, art galleries, etc.). Furthermore, restaurants, patisseries, “focaccerias”, grocery stores and drugstores are conveniently located nearby.

The Palazzo Cupane is an impressive and recently restored building, with a main wooden entrance gate and interior atrium that makes you feel going nicely back in time.

When you get inside the apartment you start to notice the interior architecture, with high ceilings, two spacious bedrooms, two full bathrooms (the showers in both of them are great and better than in many four-star hotels that we have been before), a dining space and an ample open space kitchen with a large window and all the basic appliances, china and silverware that you may need if you want to prepare your own breakfast and light meals (as we did everyday), or to even cook more sophisticated lunch or dinner dishes, if you feel like.

The bedroom furniture and interior decoration resemble minimalist.

The two amazingly silent and very efficient air conditioners (one in each bedroom) were key to provide us a perfect indoor condition to counterbalance the hot and humid weather outside, typical of Palermo during the summer.

We definitely recommend Casa del Baronello if you want to experience “the best of Palermo within a walking distance.”

trés bel endroit, bien rénové.

  • 4 of 5
