A testimonial from 4 american will explain better than us ! : 'We arrived Saturday evening to find very quaint small town Norman accommodations with an equally accommodating owner who took the time to show us around town and introduce us to shop owners, particularly grocery. The flat was physically exactly as advertised, but words could not accurately describe the charming location; immediately across the street from an historic waterfront used during D-Day and a thriving fresh catch fish market; the Sunday Town market is wonderful. The flat was well appointed with utensils, linens, etc.(wi-fi worked fine) and very clean and orderly. Parking turned out to be a non-issue and shopping/restaurants are within easy walking distance. We used this flat as home base for a week of sightseeing; D-Day beaches, Mont Saint Michel, Deauville-Honfleur, Cider & cheese Trail, Bayeux Tapestry, etc. We would highly recommend these accommodations for location, value, small town Normandy experience and central location away from hustle and bustle. » (june 2014)

Quiet, quaint little town
We were a party of 6 adults and all loved this place. Beds were comfortable and each couple had a bathroom. The kitchen is fully stocked to cook all the fresh seafood found right out your front door. Driving into and out of Port-en-Bessin, as well as around the area, was easy and relaxing. Great location to tour Normandy.
Amazing property and location!
My family spent two weeks at this amazing property. The living spaces and kitchen were perfect for us to relax, cook and enjoy direct views of the port. All bedrooms have views of the water and having multiple bathrooms was a luxury we did not experience in many other properties in Europe before.
The owners welcomed us on our first day, showed us around and made the beginning of our stay very comfortable and easy. If you are looking for a great spot on the water to explore Normandy, this is it!
Wonderful house in a perfect location
We've just returned from a week staying in Port en Bessin at this amazing house. The house was absolutely faultless... very clean, comfy beds, plenty of toilets & bathrooms, very well equipped. The views of the port were fantastic and we were lucky enough to have some beautiful weather during our stay. I would highly recommend this house to anyone looking to stay along the coast of Normandy. We were travelling with two infants (under 12 months) and were provided with two travel cots and high chairs which was very helpful. The house is a great size for 2 families. We were able to have a floor each and babies could sleep in their own rooms which was perfect.
Many thanks to Samantha, friends and babies, for their stay at our home. I'm happy that you enjoyed your stay and thank you so much for an easy communication. All the best.
Charming house facing the port
We absolutely loved our stay in Port en Bessin. The house was clean, bright, spacious and every room truly did have waterfront views. Beds were comfy and the kitchen was well-equipped. Having a washer and dryer was a God-send since we were into week 2 of a 2week trip to France. Pretty much anything we needed during our stay was within a short walk of the house.
Laurence is a wonderful landlady with a delightful personality. She was immediately attentive to our needs and responded to problems quickly.
The layout of the house is great for a family. It was a little awkward for 3 couples because of where the bathrooms are, but Laurence is currently working on changes that will improve that. The winding stairs are tight, so keep that in mind if you have knee issues (which some of us did). Still, we would go back in a heartbeat.
Port en Bessin is a lovely fishing port in the midst of the D-Day landing beaches. We loved watching the tides and the boats go in and out, visiting the shops, eating out, taking day trips around Normandy. We dined in, too, taking advantage of the fresh fish at the seafood market just across the street. And the Sunday farmer's market was wonderful!
Charming house in a great location. And parking was a non-issue. We had 2 cars and were able to park right in front of the house at any time during the week.
The home was beautiful! Everything was as advertised and more.
We all fell in love with the home & location. The home was very clean & comfortable for our family of 6 adults. Every window had a view worth framing. The kitchen was so well equipped & grocery shopping close, that we prepared most meals at home. The location was perfect for us to see all the Normandy sites & museums. Our stay was perfect. I would highly recommend this home for your vacation stay!
This house is wonderful.
I stayed here for a week with four of my friends and we are old and fussy. It is a beautiful location and house. Everything and more that was promised in the pictures and the description. It even has separate heating controls for each room and great shower pressure, etc. The only rental unit we have had with a food processor and a few US TV stations, videos, books...I could go on...It was a perfect location to explore the D-day sights as it is in the middle of the British and American sectors (minutes from the American cemetery). Great hiking along a lovely coastline;the town is so charming we hated to leave, driving was easy, Sunday market had wonderful fresh food, local markets for necessities within walking distance, fresh fish market within yards, good local restaurants, watch fishing boats and the tide come and go...And the owner is available and helpful as can be. I only hope it is available when I get the chance to return with my history loving brothers and family. Thank you for a perfect week!
