Williamstown House Rental Photos and Description

Quiet 5 Bedroom, easy walk to everything. Close to Skiing, Snowshoeing, hiking!

This historic House On Main Street was known as the Victorian Tourist & Antique House in a by-gone era. It was originally constructed in the mid 1700's and was moved to this site, near where Fort Hoosac previously stood, around 1830. The house was visited by such famous personalities as President Woodrow Wilson, who enjoyed Thanksgiving dinner here in 1914. There were many additions and renovations before it was fully remodeled in 1986, taking great care to preserve the quality features of the house. Today there are six spacious, airy bedrooms for our guests to enjoy.

In our latest remodel, we have included a Pro-Style 6 Burner Gas Jenn-Air Range, new living room furniture custom made by Taylor King and high end Serta mattress sets form the iComfort, iSeries and Perfect Sleeper collections, even a 48' Flat Screen TV, a BluRay DVD player with free Netflix, Pandora, YouTube and other viewing and listening services.

Attractions you can walk to from the house: Williams College, Williams College Museum, Clark Art Institute (The Clark - museum), Williamstown Theatre Festival, Williamstown Film Festival, Images Cinema, Chapin Library of Rare Books & Manuscripts, Taconic Golf Club, Where'd you get that? Inc. (Great toy and game store), In Touch Day Spa, Water Street Grill

Nearby Outdoor Fun/Attractions: Jiminy Peak Ski Area, Thunderbolt Ski Trail, Berkshire East Ski Area, Mount Greylock State Reservation(year-round hiking and winter snowshoeing), Sweet Brook Farm (Alpacas, Maple Syrup and more!), Hopkins Memorial Forest (3000 acres in three states just 1 mile from the house), Taconic Trail State Park, Mountain Meadow Preserve, Waubeeka Golf Links, Donnybrook Golf Club,

About Donna & Timothy

Donna grew up in this magical, Brigadoon-like area and after many years of exploring the planet, landed here again in 2000 with her best gallivanting companion and husband, Timothy. Timothy started out his journey in the Akron area of Ohio before his time in Nebraska, Wisconsin and New York City. Donna and Timothy met in NYC where they both had thriving careers in the theater before escaping to the oxygen-filled hills of the Berkshires. Contact us directly to save the fee. 413-458-3031

Donna & Timothy purchased this house in 2003

Why Donna & Timothy chose Williamstown

This lovely home became a part of Donna and Timothy's life when Donna's parents bought it in 1991. Many wonderful memories of gatherings for family and friends, holidays and birthdays have been made in this house. We love to pass on that fun and loving energy to people from all over the world.

There are also great amenities at this house including free, secure wifi.

What makes this house unique

We fell in-love with this quiet home partly because it is walking distance to everything. Plus, the front and side porches are amazing. Not to mention the fact that the area and the house are steeped in rich history. Many years ago, Woodrow Wilson's daughter owned the house so President Wilson not only visited on many Holiday occasions, he also gave an impromptu speech to the towns-folk celebrating his election for a second term right from the side porch.

Guestbook comments from the owner

This was absolutely perfect for our family gathering! Thank you for providing a home for us to gather in. We want to come back!

Fantastic Berkshire Region Experience!

  • 5 of 5

My friends and I booked this spacious, warm, beautiful, and historic house for a long holiday weekend getaway. We found it very comfortable, perfect for a group of 12-16, couples as well as singles, and highly convenient for seeing the Berkshire region. Property caretakers were very courteous, helpful, and pleasant to coordinate with. A positive experience all around, and as trip coordinator, I received many friends thanking me for booking such an enjoyable place to stay! It was a very fulfilling and satisfying stay; highly recommended.

the charm of the past and the comfort of the present!

  • 5 of 5

A wonderful stay in a charm-filled house, a 'real' New England home. Not only historically and architecturally interesting, it's comfortable as well! The rooms are big, light-filled, comfortable and calm, the beds luxurious. We really loved having a big, beautiful and well-equipped country kitchen to work and feast in. Lazy afternoons on the porches (one screened-in, another one open) were alternated with fantastic sight-seeing outings and theatre in the evening.

The house is in a very convenient in-town location, easy to get around and visit the beautiful Williams College campus--a short walk to the theatre and nearby restaurants.

We also enjoyed several scenic drives and walks in the beautiful surrounding Berkshire hills. The top of Mount Greylock and the Farmers and Artisans market in nearby Adams were real highlights of our stay.

A better time couldn't have been had! We will surely return!

A wonderful stay in a charm-filled house--the charm of its owners (Donna and Tim) and the charm of a 'real' New England house. The house is historically and architecturally interesting, as well as being comfortable! Our room was light-filled , comfortable and calm, the beds luxurious. Breakfast in the morning was a real feast and chats with Tim and Donna were quite diversified and exciting--filled with conversations about the theatre--both in Williamstown and in N.Y.--, about health, about food, about life. Visits to the Clark Art and MassMOCA were alternated with scenic drives and walks in the beautiful surrounding Berkshire hills. The top of Mount Greylock and the Farmers and Artisans market in nearby Adams were real highlights of our stay.

Wonderful Feeling!

  • 5 of 5

What a wonderful home to get to stay in! Our entire family rented the house and everybody had plenty of space of their own and the general living areas were well equipped and large. The Kitchen, living and dining rooms provide for spacious entertaining. The furniture (from comfy mattresses to sectional in living room) were not only beautiful but felt new, not a rental feeling at all. The house is literally a 4 minute causal walk to the WTF and all of the college. The main street that has numerous restaurants is a 5 minute walk. It was the perfect retreat from our everyday lives to catch up with our loved ones.

Thank you!

Fantastic winter getaway!

  • 5 of 5

We rented the entire House on Main St. with friends over the winter holiday break. Our group included adults, a teen and small children. We loved everything about this property. The kitchen is absolutely perfect for groups to cook together and spend quality time, as is the cozy living room with delightful fireplace. The decor and detail inside are top notch and it's clear Timothy and Donna put a lot of TLC into their inn. We felt we were in good hands and they were extremely helpful before, during and after our visit. Highly recommended!
