Wonderful Octoberfest in Helen 2017
Very nice cabin and was clean and had everything you could possibly need. There was one or to two small snags but they were took care of with a phone call within a hour. We will be back for another stay. The outside of the property is due for a update I was told within the next few weeks and it will be almost a new cabin then. Very quiet and out in the woods. We enjoyed our stay very much. Thanks for having us.....
Great Cabin for four.
My sisters and I enjoyed our stay in this Cabin.. The inside had all the conveniences that we needed. But, one of the twin beds has a bad box spring, under the mattress that we propped up with extra pillows. The outside was a little run down.. The wood porch/walk to go into the cabin, definitely needed repairing.. Some of the boards are beginning to rot.. And the back Patio, double doors, wouldn't close unless we locked it with the deadbolt lock.. This door would be very easy to break into... Other than these minor thing, our stay was wonderful..
The cabin has all the comforts of home with the rustic feel we were looking for. The location was close to everything we had planned on seeing and doing. On the way home we were already making plans to stay there again. You don't want to miss out on this charmer!
Great location and cute cabin!
This location is very close to downtown Helen, GA which is very convenient. There is also a gas station/convenience store that is close. We visited several wineries in the Dahlonega, Cleveland, and Helen areas. All were convenient to get to in a timely fashion. The accommodations overall we great. We didn't spend a ton of time hanging out there since we were gone mostly during the day and night. The bed and shower was great in the master bedroom but were not in the room with the twin beds. The bed that is up against the master bedroom wall was so bad that my friend had to sleep on the couch the second night. It had no support and needs to be replaced. Also, the water pressure in the shower in that room was really weak. The girls who shared that room had to take extra long showers to get the soap off since the pressure was so low. I will also say that a 10AM check out is pretty early, probably the earliest I've encountered, but it was doable. The only negatives TRULY were the water pressure and the one bed. Other than that, it was a positive experience.
We really enjoyed staying at Whispering Creek...the kids said it was their "home away from home"....and kept begging us to buy it!! ;-)
Location was perfect: close to Helen and all the other activities but just far away to have that "in the middle of nowhere" feeling. ;-)
Would love to come back again.
My son and I enjoyed our stay in Whispering Creek. It is very private, seldom hear any other people. I especially liked the back deck...high in the branches, it was like being in a tree house. The sheets were so comfortable, I wrote down the name of the manufacturer to order some for myself. The towels were nice and the kitchen well equipped, although there is no dishwasher. Very clean property. The drawbacks are a difficult driveway to exit, (but I am not so good of a driver, my late husband could have handled it), and no drawers for clothing. We did not use the hot tub or fireplace, so cannot say anything about. Overall I gladly recommend Whispering Creek for your stay.
