Overview

About the property

Come and relax in the 8 person hot tub overlooking Lake Magnuson in the Rocky Mountains. This cozy A-frame cabin is located in Florissant, Colorado, about an hour from Colorado Springs and two hours from Denver Airport (DIA). It is also just a short 14 miles from the historic mining and gambling town of Cripple Creek, Colorado. Relax in a peaceful setting, nestled in the aspens of a secluded, picturesque valley. Many mornings, wake up to the deer grazing outside the cabin. It has been the "HOMEAWAY" for many honeymoons, anniversaries, marriage proposals, and birthdays, etc.

Upstairs is a queen-sized bed , along with a futon in the sitting area. There are two decks outside the bedroom. One is a small covered sitting area with two chairs and a table, overlooking the lake. The second is an 8x10 deck in the sun, also with patio furniture and nice views.

Downstairs is a fully-equipped kitchen, bathroom and living room with a sleeper sofa. TV Service on the 42" TV is provided by DIRECT TV and includes Cinemax . There is also Satellite WIFI for you Google buffs. Sirius radio provides all types of music for your listening pleasure. A wood-burning stove puts out a quiet, comfortable warmth. There is a barbecue grill, log bench and outdoor patio furniture and the lake is less than a minute walk from the cabin. Outside the kitchen, is a fourth deck, with additional patio seating and a small fire-pit.

"The Only Cabin On The Lake" is a great place to spend time alone, with your loved ones, or friends. You can enjoy the proximity to tourist attractions, gambling, restaurants, small towns, and yet still be secluded. Vehicle parking in the driveway is within 15' of the cabin door, for easy access. There is an outside electrical outlet to plug in your vehicle in the winter.

Although the cabin is on a lake, we highly recommend that for gold medal fishing, Eleven Mile Resevoir and Canon is located in Lake George, about thirty minutes away.

Check-in is at 3PM and check-out is at 11Am.

"PET FRIENDLY" with a fenced-in area outside and a memory foam bed inside for your four-legged friends.

Make this your next HOMEAWAY.

Everything you need and more

  • 5 of 5

This house is everything you need and then some. My wife, dog, and I stayed at this property in October and we cannot wait to go back. The pictures do not do it justice! Everything was perfect from the moment we walked in to the moment we left. The house was spotless and well kept. The outdoor space is massive and we loved running around outside. The hot tub was perfect on those chilly nights and the sunsets that can be seen from the area are breathtaking. We had some things we forgot to bring and they were all available at the cabin, they really thought of everything! Thank you for making our stay a great one.

Perfect romantic getaway

  • 5 of 5

My boyfriend and I stayed in this lovely cabin from Oct 16-20th. We cannot say enough wonderful things about our time here. The cabin is small, cozy, clean, and well stocked. Please don't come here expecting the Hilton, but come here expecting to stay at your favorite Aunt's house. Our favorite part by far was all of the wildlife. We saw deer, a bobcat walking up the road, wild turkey, red tail fox and even elk. There was one doe who came and ate nuts out of my hand a few times, she and her baby hung out by the cabin all evening looking in the windows to see if we were going to come out and play. It was priceless! If you like to hike, check out Catamount Falls Trail and take the blue route. This was the first time we had ever gone hiking and we loved EVERY second of it. We also suggest checking out Cave of the Winds - lamp tour, super amazing and then head to Manitou Springs for lunch and shopping.

Beautiful View, Abundant Wildlife!

  • 5 of 5

So, first, I'll say this was a great cabin and a wonderful stay. The Cabin is in a development, not totally secluded, but that doesn't really matter. It feels much more secluded than it is and there is almost no thru traffic. Quiet and peaceful, you are surrounded by nature at its finest. We happened to visit at the beginning of October when the Aspens were a bright-vivid yellow. We were able to feed the deer right out of our hands, and even had a large buck visit while we were using the hot tub. The house is very comfortable, and is better stocked and prepared than most vacation rental homes we have been in. We didn't mind the drive into town and to various attractions because it is such a beautiful and easy drive, and some of the smaller towns along the way, including Florissant, are really wonderful unto themselves.

For us, this was a ten-year anniversary trip- a break from business ownership, parenting, tight schedules, etc... and this place was great at facilitating the renewal that we needed. Anyone looking to escape the stress of life for awhile and slow things down, should definitely give this place a try!

Owner's Response: Thank you for the great review. Yes, you do pass other homes in the subdivision on way to the cabin. Part of the reason why the road is so well maintained all year. If it were totally secluded, I fear we would have to maintain the road. Steve

Great!

  • 5 of 5

We enjoyed our stay. Little on the rainy side, so not much hot tub. But the house had everything you could possibly need. We enjoyed the deer that would practically come walking in the house if you left the door open! The bed was a little on the uncomfortable side, but we would come back again! We could not get the WiFi to work, but we did not call Steve, cause really should you be using electronic devices anyway? Skip the technology and enjoy the scenery.

Owner's Response: Wow, someone who is not tied to their electronic devices. Just for future reference, the PW is on the router. I'm happy that you enjoyed yourself. It's difficult to pick a mattress which suits everyone. I would like it very much if you would visit again. Steve
