My son and I truly enjoyed our stay!!!

  • 5 of 5

Loved the location of the home....It was so peaceful and quiet. There were many places to sit outside: in front of the home off the porch deck (on a cozy couch), on the side of the home (chairs), and out in the back of the home off a deck (another cozy couch). Truly appreciated the views from each location....the trees were so beautiful to look at.

The beds and bedding was very comfy. We had everything we needed in the kitchen...e.g. plates, utensils, coffee maker, microwave....etc.

There was plenty of hot water for our showers.

The location was really nice. We could easily go into Eugene to explore, and also Florence (off the coast) so it was really a great location to explore and site see.

This is a lovely home and truly thankful having the opportunity to stay there.

Peaceful retreat

  • 5 of 5

I cannot remember the last time I spent a day without seeing or hearing a plane, car, or even another human being. It was total bliss. Plus, it is a clean house with pellet stove and wall heaters, stocked kitchen, satellite TV, and WiFi. Eugene and the coast are not far but the world feels far away.

Nice place to get-away from it all.

  • 4 of 5

My self, my wife and another couple recently rented a cabin for two days, we absolutely loved this cabin it was equipped with everything you need. The beds were extremely comfortable and the cabin itself was very clean! There are a lot of pros to renting this cabin, very private and secluded, beautiful scenery also loved having the dish network and wifi. Linda and Steve were great hosts, very impressed. I would say the only cons there would be is the dirt road leading into the cabin, mineral smell in the water and no cell service but the cabin has a land line. We would rent there again.

Owner's Response: THANKS Kory and friends, It was a delight to host your thoughtful group and love to have you again! The road can get dusty in the mid summer, though thankfully our lovely cedar home is off and away from that :-) The light scent you noticed in water is simply negligible sulphur in well water. Vent fan while showering and cracking a window in bathroom really makes it not noticeable. We have a fine water filter in fridge and suggest guests drink from fridge water service. This filters out all scent and taste. Glad you enjoyed our comfy beds and well supplied kitchen. It is a sweet, pampered retreat to the wild here on CHickahominy Creek! So glad you came; say Hi to your friends and THANKS again for the very thoughtful way you left everything at the house! Linda and Steve

Gorgeous Mountain Cabin!

  • 5 of 5

My husband and I, along with our dog Mischa, stayed here for a week while we were visiting the area to scout retirement locations. This lovely cabin was off the beaten path, and tucked into a beautiful forest, that was so peaceful and relaxing! The cabin itself is very comfortable and well-maintained; the linens and bedding were high quality and very soft; and the wifi was very helpful since there was no phone reception.

I would recommend this lovely hideaway to anyone wanting to retreat into nature for some rest and relaxation. The hosts were so very kind and accommodating; and available to provide tips and recommendations on places to go.

And this was also a dog's paradise, with so much to explore! I can't wait to go back......

Owner's Response: Thanks for the kind review. It's always a pleasure to host thoughtful, appreciative guests like you two. And although we do not usually accept pets, your assurance of Mischa's good manners and your watchful clean up after her made it work. We hope to have you again --maybe at our VRBO"Peaceful Sedona Alternative" luxury home" ;-) PS for future guests information, we do have a great land line here at the house available for guest use. Cell reception is not reliable so the house land line with free long distance is a good alternative for our Walton, Oregon guests. Linda and Steve

Sweet little cabin

  • 5 of 5

We stayed at this property for one delightful week this past August. It was just the place to get a way from our over-scheduled, urban lives. Our two sons spent their 'at-home' time playing gamesome the floor and picking blackberries and throwing a baseball in the large yard. There are walking trails and creeks all around the property. We saw a bobcat stalking small prey at the side of the road. There are at least two kinds of owls nearby. Eugene is less than an hour away (though there is a supermarket much closer) as is the beautiful coast and waterfall hikes. The cabin was comfortable (we slept particularly well) and clean. Most of all, we enjoyed meeting our hosts, who could not have been more gracious, welcoming, friendly and helpful. And also interesting! We highly recommend this property to anyone wanting to 'get away from it all'--but not TOO far.

Our stay was cozy and accommodating; Remote and secluded in a beautiful forest environment, with an area for our dog to roam free. We found everything you would need and more.

Our hosts were friendly and available for anything as well.

We were close to the dramatic coastline and local wineries!

Thanks again, Linda and Steve
