Nice room at Grand Mayan in San Jose Del Cabo
We were pleasantly surprised at the condition and amenities of our room. Nice location with full view of the grounds and the ocean. The only downside was the extensive construction and associated noise during the day. On the other hand, it was fascinating to watch how they tear down and rebuild major portions of the grounds, pools, etc. so qui8ckly and efficiently. We treated it as our daily entertainment. The resort should be even more beautiful this fall when they get the major part completed.
Thanks for taking the time to write a review. I'm glad to hear that you enjoyed your stay despite the temporary construction. I agree with you that the resort is going to be even more beautiful when the construction is completed. Feel free to reach out if you want to return to check it out when finished. Best, David
A Los Cabos Dream Getaway
I would say that we had a most excellent time in Los Cabos.
This was partially due to the Grand Mayan Resort. We loved the service, newly renovated suite (my wife particularly loved the bath). The property was amazing. Some of the highlights were the infinity pool right on the beach, the valet/bell staff in the front getting us change-transportation-advice-etc, the cleaning crew(who even made art out of towels and changed our color scheme without prompting), the bar staff and activity coordinators (we highly recommend the karaoke), and all the kind and caring people all throughout the property.
We were never pressured in any way or hounded to do a timeshare presentation of any kind. Contrary to what we had heard.
The downsides were the ongoing construction (reparation from the hurricane and we found tolerable due to our empathetic stance toward the locals and economy), the dipping pool on the deck not working, and no atm on the property.
Overall I would say that this resort is paradise away from home and the property fee/expenditures were much less than we had budgeted for.
We highly recommend this resort.
In addition, we would highly recommend the owner of this property to anyone. He was very responsive and answered any of our questions immediately and there were no issues whatsoever with the rental. He was awesome.
Thanks so much to everyone, this was an awesome rental. We give it our highest rating.
Thanks for the positive review and kind comments. Regarding the construction, management tells me that it should all be done by July and that the resort will look even better after it's done. I'm glad you enjoyed your vacation - don't hesitate to contact me in the future if you want to go back to Los Cabos or if you want to try other properties where I own similar units, such as Cancun/Riviera Maya, Nuevo Vallarta, Acapulco, Mazatlan or Puerto Penasco.
One of the most breathtakingly beautiful and exclusive destinations in Mexico, Los Cabos is a favorite of international travelers. Known for its exquisite gourmet cuisine, world-class golfing, boutique shopping, sport fishing, and yachting, Los Cabos has it all. Located at the southernmost tip of the Baja California península, where the Sea of Cortez meets the Pacific Ocean, it’s a unique combination of unspoiled deserts, virgin beaches, crystal white sand dunes, and turquoise blue water with dramatic rock outcroppings – a true paradise on earth. Los Cabos offers ideal weather year-round, with over 350 days of sunshine annually, and a temperature of 78° F, on average. It has a typical arid, desert climate, which means hot days and cool nights, when the breezes off the ocean and the mountains converge. Summer is nearly 8 months long here, but with water temperatures in the mid-70s, it’s always easy to cool off.
