Excellent resort and rental unit
Great resort with so many options for kids and adults alike, lots of activities and restaurants and beautiful pools. Room was immaculate and spacious.
Beach not really viable to swim in unless you walk 10 minutes
Thanks for taking the time to write a review. I'm glad that you enjoyed your stay - it sounds like you found the better area for ocean swimming by taking the 10-minute walk along the beach. There is also now a brand new beach club at the resort that just opened. Feel free to reach out in the future if you ever want to return to check it out. Best, David
A beautiful experience!
This is a beautiful property. We were met at the airport in cancun and it was very easy. The one bedroom suite was lovely. ..in building 1 near everything. It even had a plunge pool on the balcony. There is a convienence store on the grounds but we had brought coffee and breakfast bars. The selection of fresh fruit was very good, fresh melons and papaya.
The pool is very large with swim up bars at both ends. Food service is available also at them. We ate at a few of the restaurants and liked the Mexican one the most. Havana Moon had a live band which was great for dancing. I think it was off season when we were there last week which made it easy to get lounges at the pool and beach. I think it would get crowded in high season because the resort is very large with a couple of resorts sharing the pool and beach. We had a wonderful time and the suite was perfect.
Thanks for taking the time to write a review. I'm very glad that you enjoyed your stay. Feel free to contact me in the future. Best, David
All that we were promised
We booked through VRBO and David was professional and efficient. He was quick to respond to calls and emails. He wrote letters to take with us and everything happened as promised.mwe were picked up at the airport and when we arrived at the Grande Mayan Palace, checking was quick, staff was pleasant and we were lucky enough to get Building one. The room was more than adequate with a kitchen and two bedrooms. Definitely the way to go. It was very close to pools and lobby.
The second week at building 6 was through our timeshare. It was a bedroom unit and left a lot to be desired. No coffee pot! There is only one coffee place to get coffee on the whole complex and get a quick breakfast. Breakfast was only available at two buffets for over $25.00. About six staff members would walk down the hall at 7:00 in the morning, laughing and talking loudly...no way to sleep through their noise.
Overall the complex has beautiful pools and wonderful staff, however it is a long way from anything off site. It is best to have a rental vehicle.
Thanks for your review and the kind words. I'm glad you enjoyed your stay for the first week. It sounds like the second week you booked through your time share company wasn't quite the same experience. That is a good example of why it is always better to book directly through an owner such as me with Grand Luxxe Platinum status than going through a time share exchange company - it ensures that you get a better unit location and amenities, which can make a world of difference. I would be happy to assist you in the future if you want to return to this resort or any of my other vacation rental properties in Mexico or elsewhere. Best, David
