About Amy Griggs
Charley is an engineer/builder and Amy is a middle school teacher who both work full time in nearby Wake County. Creativity and craftsmanship are two things we like about remodeling. We always have a work in progress, and we love coming to Pinehurst.
Amy Griggs purchased this Cottage in 2009
Why Amy Griggs chose Pinehurst
Cole House is so named because it is the family name of the original owners and only family before us to occupy this historic cottage. Four seasons a year, the Sandhills, and particularly Pinehurst, offer a garden-like setting, easy-living climate and an otherwise mysterious and inexplicable magnetism.
What makes this Cottage unique
Charley recognized the good bones of this sturdy house and knew it'd be a great fixer-upper. It might be impossible to find another place in this price range that says 'no worries' like the Cole House does. Our goal was to have guests enter and feel like Cole House had been in their family forever -- timeless decor, simple comforts, and some of that mystery appeal. The location is convenient and yet feels "off the beaten path." Guests like having 4 bedrooms.

Charming cottage w/ great location.
The Village of Pinehurst is a special place and this cottage embodies all of what this community has to offer. The subtle detail and amenities allow for a relaxing stay in the quiet neighborhood just steps from legendary golf courses. We'll be back!
Perfect location for a Pinehurst golf trip
Came down from OH with a group of 8 guys and this place was perfect. Close to multiple grocery stores, within walking distance of some good restaurants, and less than 5 min from the Pinehurst resort. House has everything you need. Strongly recommend!
Perfect for a golf getaway!
Fantastic house, generously equipped with everything you need. Perfect for a golf weekend, every guy gets a bed. Awesome set up downstairs with a den. Highly recommend and definitely coming back!
Really pleasant cottage near to everything
Just a good place to stay. Little gift/touches much appreciated
Best time of year in Pinehurst --mid-April. Second best is any other time!
Hubby and I use VRBO a lot and I have to say with hand on heart that to date this is my favorite. Cole House is beautiful, quirky, full of character, cosy, comfy and lots of space. We had my inlaws join us who are in their 70's so they had the ground level and hubby and I took lower level. Tons of space. Amy left us lots of Easter treats and flowers on the kitchen table. Hubby and I enjoyed golf while the inlaws took lots of lovely walks. Cole House is the perfect walking distance into the village. We enjoyed breakfast in the Villager Deli. And drove to Ironwood Cafe for a super Easter brunch. We spent all 4 evenings at home cooking and enjoying the Griggs gorgeous home. We will be back. J&G
Wow -- thanks for "getting it," our comfy motif! Yes, it's a great, walkable place with so many restaurants, but we like cooking, too.
4 ladies came to Pinehurst to play in a golf tournament and we loved the cottage. It is a great location for enjoying the village and convenient to shopping and restaurants and golf. The cottage was charming and cozy.
We appreciated y'all, Nancy. Sorry about the mix-up with the maid's schedule. Thank you for understanding. We like to let people check in earlier than the standard check-in time whenever possible, but we like to have everything ready!
