About the property

Situated on the back of 2 1/2 acres and convenient to Boerne and San Antonio

The Cabin feels like it's deep in the woods but it's at the back corner of our 2.5 acres within a neighborhood. It's perfect for 2 with a Queen bed and flat screen TV with access to Netflix, Hulu Plus, Amazon, Pandora and more through Roku.

The kitchen is complete with a small fridge (microscopic freezer), microwave, hot plate, toaster, coffeemaker and blender. We've got pots, pans, dishes, and utensils, and a few kitchen staples of coffee filters, salt, pepper if cooking's your thing.

What makes the cabin truly special is the outdoor bathroom. Step outside the sliding door to an outdoor shower, a sink perched on a tree stump, and a fully enclosed toilet room. There's nothing like a hot shower under a moonlit sky. We provide towels and a blow dryer.

A grill and chiminea are on the back deck - making it the perfect place to end a sparkling day in the Hill Country. Firewood is provided.

The Cabin will be your dog's paradise. Up to 3 well behaved dogs (no aggressive breeds, nighttime howlers, indoor poopers or furniture chewers) are welcome at $10 each per night. Your backyard is fully fenced and there's plenty of trees to explore.

If working out is your thing, our onsite gym is right across from you. The gym has 3 different cardio machines, free weights and a multi use weight machine. A flat screen TV and Roku are available in the gym as well.

Clean, convenient, private, relaxing

  • 5 of 5

We loved this place! We were in the San Antonio area on business and wanted to relax in the evenings in a non-hotel environment. This place was perfect for that. We spent every evening on the back porch talking about our day, grilling the evening meal, eating in peace and growing sleepy by the chiminea. After a quick shower - loved the shower - we slept great in a very comfortable bed. We made breakfast every morning before heading to San Antonio. Not a full kitchen but it had everything we needed. This is just a wonderful place to stay...

Loved it!

  • 5 of 5

We absolutely loved the cabin and the owners made our stay very comfortable. The fenced back yard is excellent and worthy of our 14 yr old escape artist, who by the way took full advantage of the trees with their ample shade on the back porch. He loved resting his old bones out there, and even tried sneaking into the shower with us at one time! Lol... Which brings me to my next point.... The outside shower and bathroom! Do not let this steer you away from this place. Showering outside under the trees and stars and all was absolutely wonderful. There is no need to worry about your privacy, you won't be seen. And the outside bathroom, brushing your teeth and doing your daily business of getting ready for whatever your day has in store, is great!

We will definitely be be staying here again if we are in the area.

Beautiful property - love the details!

  • 4 of 5

I spent one evening at this wonderfully decorated getaway. When I arrived, Rick greeted me and showed me around. He then left me to enjoy some peace and relaxation. The Cabin is a rustic yet modern one room studio style. Perfect for a solo girl trip (which mine was) or for a couple. They really have thought of everything! Comfortable bed, lots of extra including games, coffee, bedding, robes, etc. I binge watched shows on Netflix and Amazon all the while curled up on the comfy couch or comfy bed. The back deck/yard is as secluded as you can get being this close to other homes and businesses. It is covered with trees and is completely fenced in. When I originally debated bringing my dog, I saw that they listed it as being fenced but you just never know if people assume you have a small dog that can't jump. Well, this backyard has a fence worthy of my german shepherd who is quite capable of jumping! Maybe next time I'll bring her! Quite a few beautiful birds joined me in the morning while I sat outside and drank my coffee. So the bathroom. Ah, the bathroom. It is outside, all of it. The toilet is just off the sliding glass door and is partially closed in. The sink is set up on a tree trunk pedestal and is completely open. The shower, is partially surrounded by recycled tin and wood. The shower was the only part that I was somewhat hesitant about. It was not as private as I would like. There were workers doing construction just on the other side of the yard and even though I never saw them I can see where they would be able to see what you were doing if they were working over near that park of the yard. I don't think it would make or break my decision to stay here, but just in case you are not excited about it, there you go. Regarding the seclusion of this property: it is very close to businesses and other homes. That being said, they have done a wonderful job making this a serene and private location. While you are still very close to their own house and the their other rental, "the studio" (which butts up to the cabin), the property is beautiful and peaceful. I did not use the work out room so I can't give an opinion on that however, the info booklet that was conveniently located in the cabin was very informative regarding use of the work out room. I thoroughly enjoyed my stay, I would gladly stay here again if I were in the Boerne area. Rick and Meryl have thought of so many important touches and I'm so glad I found their property!

Charming, Adorable, Rustic...A true hidden gem!

  • 5 of 5

There are so many great thing to say about our stay here...First, Rick and Meryl are so kind and accommodating. They go way above and beyond to ensure your stay is all you could hope for and then some. The cabin itself is just adorable!! The indoor/outdoor living space is perfect for taking your pups and the backyard space is a dogs dream to run and play. A rustic, cozy vibe makes you feel like you are in a perfect, private oasis.

We will be returning as much as possible and are already planning our next trip!

Loved our stay

  • 4 of 5

We enjoyed staying at this property. The owners allowed us to stay in the studio the first night due to overbooking which was perfect. The cabin was cute and we did enjoy staying there. However, I wish I had known about the time limit on the outdoor shower as well as me not being able to use my blow dryer without flipping a breaker. But with that being said the owners were very friendly and the outdoor space was great!
