The way vrbo works is I can only erase ALL the comments if I get a negative one. I am the only one that has never erased a comment. Out of five stars possible I average 4.9 stars with over 100 reviews. I hope this helps as you decide where to spend your precious vacation time. Mahalo nui loa for your kind consideration.
You may notice I have more comments than anyone else.
This is NOT one of those rentals that advertise close to the beach but instead it is actually on the polluted Ala Wai Canal nor is it one of those residential walk up buildings that has no elevators leaving you to carry your luggage up and down many flights of stairs. This is located directly on Kalakaua Ave. and is one block to the beach. This is an immaculate one bedroom that sleeps up to four comfortably. This air-conditioned executive suite has lots of upgrades and additions. The unit is equipped with high speed internet access and a wireless signal for your personal laptop. It has a Deluxe King bed in the bedroom and a very comfortable $1,300 sleeper couch bed with lots of extra linens. There is also a single futon with linens. This condo boasts a full kitchen with granite counter top and oak cabinetry, full size refrigerator, stove/oven, pots, pans, rice cooker, dishes and silverware, deluxe Sharper Image T-Fal toaster, heavy duty blender, 2 LCD TVs, $400 Sanyo microwave/Browner, tea pot, coffee maker and grinder, iron and ironing board and lots of towels. The unit is on the second floor and easily accessible by stairs or elevator....just 5 steps from the elevator and parking. There are fireworks one block away at the Hilton Hawaiian Village Beach Resort and Spa every Friday night between 7:30 pm and 8:00 pm. Subway Deli, ABC Store, 7Eleven and Cheeseburgers in Paradise are next door. Outback Steakhouse, Red Lobster, Benihanas, Kobe Steakhouse n Sushi, Makitti Seafood Buffet and California Pizza Kitchen are one block away....Many more unnamed all close within 2 blocks. You will enjoy visiting because of your proximity to the beach, (Hilton Hawaiiian Village Beach Resort and Spa) and ocean activities, shopping (Ala Moana Shopping Center), grocery store (The Food Pantry), night life, restaurants and of course the new Hawaii Convention Center. Nearby activities: Golf, Tennis, Fishing, Wildlife Viewing, Shopping, Restaurants, Live Theater, Cinemas, Museums, Sightseeing, Swimming, Snorkeling & Diving, Boating, Sailing, Surfing, Windsurfing, Parasailing, Jet Skiing, Shelling. The unit is one block to the beach and (Waikiki) is just 25 minutes (9 miles) from the airport. I like to price the condo low and keep it full. Hotels on this street are charging $229/night for a tiny room with no kitchen, and no view. I have had a few people cancel their reservations at their hotel to come stay here. I like to keep the condo in a condition that will guarantee EVERY guest will have positive comments. You can find cheaper units, but this is by far the most for your money.
HOW TO GET TO THE BEACH FROM THE CONDO: Go out the front of the building and Right at the sidewalk to the corner. Turn Right at the corner without crossing the street. At the next corner you will be adjacent to the Hilton Hawaiian Village Beach Resort and Spa. Just cross the street to the widest sand section of Waikiki Beach.
I am a single father who found a way to spend alot of time with my son while making a living. I had no idea the two condos I had purchased before my son was born were zoned for vacation rentals. I believe we can make all the plans we want but the final outcome is up to God. I know many people may only visit Hawaii once in their lifetime and every minute of their time here is precious. I try to treat others as I would like to be treated. I have gained some weight since that picture so I explain to people that I used to be a Chippendale's Dancer and now I am a Chips Ahoy Dancer! My son is a top student at the University of Hawaii and will be attending medical school when he graduates. He wants to be a top surgeon to help others....not for the moolah. In any of his endeavors he has tweaked a better way of doing things. If you stay here, thank you for helping to pay his tuition.
Emmanuel Chen purchased this condo in 1990
Located at the beginning of Waikiki gives easier access avoiding traffic. Walking distance to shopping, restaurants and famous sites. Hawaii Convention Center and Ala Moana Mega Mall are five minutes away.
The free garage parking located close to the elevator is a huge plus. Don't forget the free fireworks show one block away every Friday night.
Location location location! A fantastic vacation condo in Honolulu. Emanuel our host has an extremely clean close to all attractions condo . we will stay here again and highly recommend to our friends. One block from the best part of Waikiki beach!
This apartment is absolutely perfect! Located in the busy part of Waikiki, the offstreet gated parking was a God send! The apartment was clean and cozy. We never wanted to leave the kingsized bed in the bedroom...wow! It was very comfortable. Being able to cook and not have to eat out was just what we were looking for! We are local, and came over for business reasons. This place had all the comforts of home. If we were to travel to Oahu again, we hope this place is available!! Worth every penny!!
This property is clean, convenient, secure, plenty of amenities and well worth the price we paid. We stayed two full weeks. Our first time to rent a condo for vacation. Always hated paying high hotel rates for services we don't use and over priced restaurant food. Emanuel's place on Kalakaua Blvd definitely solved that problem. If I were to return to Honolulu, this is the first place I would check. A five star hotel it is not, but I gave it five stars, it was exactly as the web pictures and description described. I give it five stars for: cost value, cleanliness, securaty, and amenities..had virtually everything we needed, smart tv even allowed us to log in to our Netflix account, convenience...five steps to the elevator is right. Keyed security to elevator, building entry and parking garage was a great plus. Parking in Waikiki is difficult at best. But plan for a mid size or compact car. A full size or SUV may be a problem. A great place to take day trips from. We brought our GPS, planned our day trips and we were off. Dollar rental car is just a couple of blocks down the street. That parking garage was worth its weight in gold! There are two convenience stores literally adjacent on either side of the property...a real plus. Google maps will confirm a small market just 800 feet around the corner from the 7-Eleven. They'll have most all your food and personals needs there in walking distance. Having a kitchen was great! Saved $$$ on food. Allowed us to eat out only when WE wanted to. Walmart is literally a one turn drive up the street about 8 blocks for more serious needs. Restaurants are all around you in walking distance as well as more shopping than your credit card will allow. The beach is best accessed going straight down Ala Moana Blvd and through the Hilton Hawaiian Village where you'll find even more restaurants and shops. Dress for the beach, walk a few blocks through the Hilton, enjoy the beach, shower off...have a drink or lunch and simply walk back to the condo. The neighborhood was a clean well kept main access area of combo business and residential. We felt safe and comfortable on all our walking ventures. The highway does get a little noisy at times but calms down at night. While the place will sleep more than two, I felt it most comfortable for my wife and I. The balcony is handy, a little small but we could sit comfortably and do a little people watching. That's another form of entertainment in Waikiki. Don't hesitate to rent this property.
Our family of four, including 2 adult children, had a great time staying at this condo for 2 days. The layout and size of the house was great for 4 adults, not easy to find in hotels or condos. We were impressed by how clean and well maintained everything was. The air conditioners worked well in maintaining a pleasant temperature, the parking spot was a nice bonus, and the condo is very well situated near the beaches and stores. There was some mild street noise that bled through at night sometimes but it was not a show stopper. This condo is a bargain for the price!
The perfect location for our one night stay in Waikiki. We needed a place to stay for just a one nighter, as we were participating in the Susan G. Komen, Relay for Life event that was held at Magic Island, a stone's throw away from our cozy apartment. The perfect setting! Away from the busy Waikiki scene, yet close to everything.
Emmanuel, the owner, was very responsive once the request for the apartment was submitted via email. He answered each and every email within minutes and answered every question I had.. We met Emmanuel at the 7-11 which is conveniently located next to the apartment building! Escorting us to the parking structure, he explained the procedure to enter and exit, then walked us through the steps on how to enter the parking elevator using the keys he had given us (he actually had us do it ourselves so we'd know exactly how to utilize it). Such a great teacher!
As we entered the apartment, he explained where things were and how to use the air conditioner (24/7 for the bedroom AC) and the portable AC should we need it. The apartment was fully equipped, like home. Since we were staying for just a night, we didn't need the range that was there, nor all the beach gear that we available on the lanai! There was even a walking stick, hmmm, maybe next time, a trip to the beach and a breezy hike might be in store! The refrigerator was a great amenity, we needed to put a lot of food that would be taken to our evening event. It wasn't a hotel room size refrigerator either! It was large enough to place everything we had with much room to spare! There were even iced mugs in the freezer, even if we didn't use them, I'm sure it sure comes in handy if you needed to consume alcohol. Cheers!
Also, the Wi Fi in this place fast! My nephew mentioned, "The Wi Fi is great, it's super fast!" as he played on his iPad. He was a happy camper in the apartment too.
The apartment was quaint, clean and cozy. The coolness sure added to the many bonuses on such a blazing, hot summer day. It was nice to get settled in with our belongings and rest before our evening event.
We were so blessed to have noticed this apartment on VRBO. It appeared to be the only 1 nighter available in July for this apartment. It seems many people know about this place and have rented it out, we were fortunate to have been able to have our brief stay here on July 16, 2016.
Mahalo, Emmanuel for being such a gracious, kind and generous host! We sure hope to stay longer next time.
Myself & sister stayed in this condo for 9 days on vacation and it could not have been more perfect.Close to everything shopping ,restaurants and the beach , beautiful parks. The included parking space was very nice. The place was very clean and nicely furnished. A very nice and quite retreat after a full day of sight seeing. Thanks Emmanuel for everything during our stay.Would definitely stay here again and recommend it to everyone I know planning a trip to Honolulu. Thanks Martha & Vergie.

Your fully refundable $300 reservation deposit becomes your security deposit during your stay. By Hawaii state law it must be postmarked no later than 14 days from your departure. If you check with my past guests, I am much more prompt than that. It is sent in the form of bank check from First Hawaiian Bank so the funds are withdrawn as soon as the check is dispersed.
