About the property

Three bedroom, three bath cottage in a secret location close to town

Creekside property on the edge of town. Less than 2 miles off Highway 1 (half pavement, half dirt road). We are on the northern edge of Cal Poly, in a spot the locals don't even know about.

Hikers, runners and Mountain bikers can leave straight from the property for beautiful single track.

Furnished with Restoration Hardware furniture and Wi-Fi access.

On the creekside of the house, there is an outdoor dining area table for eight. On the Sunny side of the house, there is a private courtyard for sunbathing.

Everything is very clean with high quality beds and linens. Cork floors with no carpet.

The 3rd bedroom is a bunk room in the attached garage with 4 twins and a large bathroom. It is accessed either from outside or through the 2nd bedroom in the cottage.

My name is Kevin. Our family moved to San Luis Obispo from Park City, Utah 4 years ago because it is our favorite place on the West Coast. I live with my wife Kimberly and 3 small children about 120 feet down the drive from the cottage.

Why Kevin Charles chose San Luis Obispo

We feel very fortunate to have found this property. It is a five-acre parcel with two houses and nearly complete privacy. The fact that it is so accessible and serene at the same time is what appealed to us. The town... well it's quaint, vibrant, has great schools, close to the beaches, with clean air and it's just out of the marine layer. It doesn't get any better for us.

What makes this house unique

A romantic and peaceful setting is what makes this property desirable. It's proximity to a wonderfully vibrant downtown and incredible coastline is what makes it truly unique. That and nobody knows it's here.

Fantastic Home!

Stenner Creek Cottage home is a wonderful vacation getaway! Nestled in the hills of San Luis Obispo, the home is secluded yet just minutes away from the quaint city of San Luis Obispo and and just a 15-20 minute drive to Morro Bay, Avila and Pismo Beach. The home is beautiful, clean, simple, and tastefully decorated. My absolute favorite part of the home is the outdoor area at the back of the cottage. The trickling sound of the creek created a tranquil and relaxing ambience. Kevin was a great host. He was there to greet us and give us a tour of the cottage, and he also provided my husband and me with a bottle of wine (we were celebrating my b-day and our wedding anniversary). We only stayed three nights and wished we could have stayed longer. Would definitely stay here again!

A slice of paradise in the middle of nowhere where they've thought of everything!

This place is out of a storybook, the house is beautifully redone with incredible attention to detail both inside and out. A creek runs behind property, deer feed in the lawn, a hammock sits under the 400 year old oak tree, a brand new hot tub for outdoor soaking, a gourmet kitchen, freshly ground coffee beans, it's a slice of paradise. Kevin the property owner is very laid back and accommodating and has provided everything you could ever wish for in a vacation home. We will definitely be back!

Beautiful property, stunning home off the beaten path

We had a wonderful experience at Stenner Creek. Everything is just as pictured. House was immaculate. Decor was beautiful and simple. Kitchen had everything you could need. The host was very helpful. We were very happy with our choice to stay here! (Two couples and two babies, 9 months and 6 months).

wonderful creekside get away

We spent a lovely weekend at Stenner Creek. Even having attended Cal Poly, I had NO idea there were houses this far back! We saw deer on our drive back. We had 3 children with us under the age of 5, and this property was a big hit with them. The house itself is so special, with magical light, and the family has done a beautiful job updating in while maintaining it's charm. We highly recommend it & will be back for sure.
