About the property

Three bedroom, three bath cottage in a secret location close to town

Secret creekside property on the edge of town. Less than 2 miles off Highway 1 (half pavement, half dirt road). We are on the northern edge of Cal Poly, in a spot the locals don't even know about.

Hikers and Mountain bikers can leave straight from the property for beautiful single track.

Furnished with Restoration Hardware furniture. Three TV's with Direct TV. Wi-Fi access.

1260 sq. ft. with cork flooring and no carpet + an adjoining TV room and bunk room/bathroom for larger parties.

A sunny courtyard for sunbathing or relaxing is right outside the front door. There is a beautiful, large dining table on the back patio with string lights and a fire pit.

Everything is very clean with high quality beds and linens.

About Kevin Charles

My name is Kevin. Our family moved to San Luis Obispo from Park City, Utah 4 years ago because it is our favorite place on the West Coast. I live with my wife Kimberly and 3 small children about 120 feet down the drive from the cottage. We have lived in many wonderful locations over the past 15 years or so, and have decided this one is special enough to stay for a decade or two.

We feel very fortunate to have found this property. It is a five-acre parcel with two houses and nearly complete privacy. The fact that it is so accessible and serene at the same time is what appealed to us. The town... well it's quaint, vibrant, has great schools, close to the beaches, with clean air and it's just out of the marine layer. It doesn't get any better for us.

What makes this cottage unique

A romantic and peaceful setting is what makes this property desirable. It's proximity to a wonderfully vibrant downtown and incredible coastline is what makes it truly unique. That and nobody knows it's here.

Just amazing

We spent the weekend here for a wedding in SLO, the home is so quaint & beautiful and perfect for two couples! We loved the serenity of the patio & the owners were wonderful! We will definitely be back!!

Beautiful Serene Space

I have a large family so finding accommodations for 8 adults and 2 dogs is always challenging. Stenner Creek Cottage was exactly what we needed. It was a beautiful and calm atmoshepre with so much to do. If you wanted to hang out and watch a movie you could do that from anywhere in the house. There was also ample hiking in the rolling SLO hill and a great patio for grilling (which we did!) or just sitting and enjoying a glass of wine (which we also did!).

It feels remote and off the grid, while also being close to everything you may need. It's a great place and Kevin was a great host. If you need a space in SLO that really has it all, look no further.

Very nice and quite setting next to a lovely creek.

Really enjoyed our stay at Stenner Creek Cottage. A comfortable home in a quiet setting. Many options for hiking close by and even right out the door! Also close to town for all our shopping and entertainment needs. Well equipped kitchen and outdoor grill for preparing meals at home. Would stay here again.

Perfection

The home is beautiful and the outdoor space in incredible. We stayed in the home for a full week and hated to leave! Kevin is a great host and resource, he met us upon arrival, gave us a tour and was available when needed. It is off the beaten path in the best way possible. It is still very close to anything you need in SLO but peaceful with lots of beautiful hiking trails... it is the perfect place to stay if you wanted to travel south to Pismo Beach or north to Big Sur... we did it all and were happy to have this home to return to every night. The beds were really comfortable and attention was paid to every detail. The outdoor décor is as beautiful as the indoor... it looks like it is out of a Restoration Hardware catalogue. The fire with comfy chairs and outdoor table were used often, the perfect way to begin or end the day. Listening to the sound of the creek, sitting by the fire under the charming lights... a little bit of heaven in California. I hope we have the opportunity to return soon! If you have the chance to stay in this home I promise you won't be disappointed. You won't want to leave.
