Truly, one of the most charming and convenient homes you'll find at this price range on the Cape! Quiet, private and extremely convenient to all amenities and Chatham is the best! Small town feel with all modern convenience. Central air. Beautiful setting. Private backyard. Just amazing!
Let's start with the location - you are a ten minute walk from town, with shops, restaurants, museums and entertainment. We walk to Chatham Bakery less than a mile away to get the family donuts and coffee every morning. Chatham Fish & Chips and another breakfast place is also a half mile away. Grab your bike and go anywhere in any direction and you'll have blast, no matter the time of year. Try the little airport which is right up the street on the bike path. You can watch the planes come in while you enjoy lunch or breakfast (and the best muffins and pancakes on the planet) at the airport diner, Hangar B Eatery.
Basketball, fields, tennis courts, and the bike path are literally across the street, at the town's middle school. Our home is also just minutes from the world famous Chatham Bars Inn, where any given night you can hang out on their deck and enjoy sunset and cocktails. Right next door to CBI is the fish pier, where you can not only pick up fresh fish for dinner but watch the local watermen deliver to the docks - as the seals float around catching scraps. It's so much fun!
The Lighthouse & Beach is the most stunning public beach in Chatham, and a must enjoy place no matter what time of year. Then there's Oyster Pond also within biking or walking and great for kids. Hardings Beach, ponds and water everywhere. You will be in heaven here!
A few minutes from Chatham in either direction are the other Cape towns that have great local flavor - Orleans, Harwich, Dennis.. the list goes on.
If you're going to stay home, you'll enjoy it just as much as being out. Our location - only a mile from the ocean - ensures a nice breeze you can enjoy on a very private deck, looking into a nice wooded area. Casa 'D'Estate - Italian for SummerHouse - has everything to make that vacation care-free, in any season. You are so close to town you won't get stuck in that main street traffic and biking and outdoor activity is right out the door.
When not traversing the Cape, you can enjoy a cozy family room, a well-stocked kitchen, and the access to a new conveniently located gas grill. Families will especially appreciate the private, fenced in yard. You can enjoy a lovely deck and patio, as well as hang out and read on the adirondack chairs and benches. On cool nights you can fire up the fire pit. Oh, and you'll love the outdoor shower!
The bedrooms are well-appointed, the bathrooms provide plenty of room and privacy, and linens are provided for a modest, additional fee, easing your travel burden.
The master bedroom is enormous, with a spacious king bed, and room to add a bed or crib if need be. The full bath and closets also make a vacation comfortable.
The second bedroom on the main floor has a full bed and dressers, decorated in boat themes. Across the hall is another full bath.
The den and kitchen and deck all are open to one another and make vacation living a dream. Downstairs in the lower level are two twins and a pull out couch. A half bath, washer, dryer and walk out exit make it possible for more than one family to share the house with privacy.
The kitchen is not like one of those typical vacation places with miss-matched dishes and so few needed utensils and bowls. You'll have everything you need to eat in, cook or entertain.
To sum -
Whether you are an avid walker, reader, exercise buff or beach bum, this location cannot be beat. In addition to Lighthouse and Oyster Pond Beaches, Hardings and numerous other beaches are within a few miles. Right up the road 10 minutes you'll find Orleans, another lovely town, where the award winning Nauset Beach is located, along with dozens more. Take a short ride the other way into Harwich for more fun - music, restaurants, beaches, shopping and local festivals are always happening. In the summer, there are band concerts nightly in these towns, lots of local and summer stock theatre, and access to amazing musical groups, from A'Cappella to Chamber group.
Boaters and people who love to fish will enjoy the Marinas close by, the accessibility and availability of the locals willing to go out with you and show you a unique slice of the Cape. We have seen seals up close and personal, caught dozens of fish in a day, found clams, (and enjoyed eating them!) and even seen some whales (check out the pictures) just a few miles from shore!
In fall, the Cranberry bogs start attracting attention and the annual Oyster Fest in Wellfleet brings activity all October to the Cape. WInter and Spring are equally beautiful, and provide calm and clarity.
The world is your oyster when you stay in this home away from home!
