Recent reviews:

This little guest house is too too cute. It is much cuter than the pictures suggest and looks like a Martha Stewart magazine spread come to life with the most comfy beds. Julie

A wonderful little cottage! Peaceful yet convenient to restaurants and shops. Nice decor and just the right size. Photos represented the house well. I will definitely return. Ann

The guest house was spotless and very welcoming. The bedding was hotel quality A+, same for the bath products and morning snacks. The neighborhood was quiet, quick walk to the lake. I would stay here again in a heartbeat. Andrea

About Shelly Kintzinger

Hi! We moved to Lake Oswego about 6 years ago. We lived in Klamath Falls, OR for many years. We were so fortunate to find this charming neighborhood of 'First Addition' in LO & fell in love with this property and our guest house from the 1890's - when families from Portland would travel to Lake Oswego as a getaway. Our location is super convenient, I rarely drive, everything I need is within walking distance. Great trails if you like to run/walk too. I work from home and love meeting new people but I am fine leaving people 'be' if that's your style. Joy, excellence and kindness sum up this family well. See you soon!

Vintage charmer with all the bells and whistles!

  • 5 of 5

This is why I stay at VRBO's: After 35 years of biz travel it is wonderful to stay somewhere special, somewhere quiet, and somewhere with a bit more room to stretch out.

This little cottage is just that. Well appointed, close to town, and there is a GORGEOUS outdoor space with a fountain! The owner (who lives in the house in front) was away but was so gracious about instructions and making sure we had everything we could need.

I am a painter and was in wonderful Lake Oswego Art Fair for the first time. This location was perfect for us. Close to the show site --husband walked back and forth several times, it's about 1 mile to the outdoor space. Plus near a ton of cute places to eat pre and post show.

Though we did not cook, there is a cute little stove, good size fridge and plenty of dishes, cutlery etc.

Two bedrooms are upstairs and bathroom is down. So if you get up often in the night take that into account. As in most vintage homes, stairs are steep.

Our stay happened to occur during record breaking heat wave, (literally 99º, 99ª then 102º!!) downstairs has very high ceilings and a ceiling fan and stayed remarkably cool, there are window unit AC's upstairs in each bedroom, a bit loud but did the job.

Overall, if I do this art fair again next year I would happily stay here again - I'm hoping no other artists read this and book before I do!! :-)

Charming well equipped cottage in quiet walkable neighborhood.

  • 5 of 5

Wonderful cottage on great Lake Oswego neighborhood. Easy to walk to shops and farmers market held on Saturday mornings in the summer. Cottage was well equipped with everything like shampoo, conditioner and soaps in the bathroom and even some waters, beer and soda in the fridge. Beds were very comfortable to sleep in and AC was available in upstairs bedrooms. Shelly kindly turned the AC on for us for our late arrival since it was 90+ degree during the day. Cottage was clean and very charming located in quiet neighborhood in a garden setting. If you are looking for a place to stay in Lake Oswego area this is it!!!

Great location, comfy home, gorgeous outdoor space

  • 5 of 5

Our family of 4 stayed for 10 days at this little oasis. Cute cottage with comfortable furnishings within walking distance to all of Lake Oswego (restaurants, groceries, farmers market, etc). The hosts are warm and welcoming. It is very clean, nicely decorated and has everything you will need. The outdoor space is really great...enjoyed coffee in the "outdoor living room" on many mornings. The neighborhood is super cute and we enjoyed many evening walks. We certainly hope to return!!

Perfect base for exploring the area

  • 5 of 5

A lovely home tucked in behind the owner's house, but yet felt very private. The owner's were accessible but by no means intrusive. The patio area with fountain was lovely. The location is perfect. Delightful GF coffee shop across the street with amazing pastries, sandwiches, and a great Bloody Mary. Beds were extremely comfortable!

Owner's Response: Thanks for your review Jennifer. Thanks for coming to Lake Oswego! It's nice to hear how much you enjoyed the cottage and I did not know about the Bloody Mary's at Kyra's Bakery. Good to know. Happy Summer!

Charming Heart of Lake Oswego Cottage

  • 5 of 5

Beautifully appointed and just what is needed for a quiet vacation stay. Stylish, design-quality dishes with microwave, toaster oven, stove, oven and apartment-sized refrigerator. Very comfortable beds and views of shared, private landscaped patio, yard and gardens are welcoming after a day of work or play. Shelly greeted me upon my arrival and was quick to respond when I needed something. A gravel walk between the street parking in front of the main house and the patio is a bit challenging with heavy or roller-luggage, but the brick walkway from the patio to cottage was helpful. Walking 1 block to restaurants, groceries and the top of the main street of charming downtown Lake Oswego businesses was wonderful, and even possible in a light rain. Next time I would love to get to the trail nearby. Loved Kurata Japanese Restaurant 1 block away! Very quick turn-around time for return of deposit. I hope to return on future visits!
