About Jeannette and John Haigis

We purchased the property with the intent of growing quality wine grapes and providing a vacation rental in an area that is as beautiful as it gets. The mountain views are amazing and the night sky incredible.

Jeannette and John Haigis purchased this house in 2010

Why Jeannette and John Haigis chose Warner Springs Ranch

We spent many years volunteering with a local vineyard/winery owner and his wife and developed a love of the area. When this parcel almost next door to these friends came available, we purchased the property.

What makes this house unique

We love the views from this home as well as the peace and quiet. When we purchased this home, we needed a getaway from the noisy, crowded city (beautiful as San Diego is). Even though there was much work ahead of us, at the end of the workday, we would find ourselves with a glass on wine on the deck, reviewing the day and planning for the future.

Wonderful spot to getaway to with all the comforts of home!

I first rented the house for a weekend when family visited San Diego from the mid-west. All of us loved the house and property. It's surrounded by the vineyard, and panoramic views of surrounding mountains and valleys. Very pretty scenery in which one can take short walks, sit on one of the two wonderful decks and read a book or visit one of the 5 close boutique wineries in the area. Everything we needed and wanted for our stay was in the house (minus food and drinks of course). The kitchen is fully stocked and labeled to find things, it has a modern washer and dryer, comfortable living room furniture and even a unit to play CDs and plug in your iPhone and play from it. The bedrooms and baths are nicely appointed, including linens, etc. We had a terrific visit that led me to talk friends into coming and staying another time (6 of us). The bedrooms are perfect for couples and young kids to share a bed. If your 6 person is not part of a couple, bringing a twin blow up mattress is good for use in the living room. We enjoyed dinners outside and inside at the large dining room table. The decks have comfortable furniture, and the back is perfect to barbecue while going back and forth into the nearby kitchen. It was a wonderful stay the 2nd visit as well, and is now on my list of top rated getaways an hour from San Diego. The wineries nearby have very good wines, and there are public events at them on some weekends. Thank you for such a wonderful home away from home!

We stayed here with our 5 young children. we all had a great time. The older kids played teatherball and horseshoes while we sat on the wonderful porch with the little ones enjoying the view. There were plenty of games and puzzles for the kids. The kitchen is well stocked. They have everything. There is also a nice DVD collection. Truly a great home. Thank you for your hospitality.
