Why Shelley Bartel chose Thompson Okanagan

This property is so private but so close to all the amazing things that make the Okanagan Valley so famous. 5 minutes to Spallumcheen Golf course. 10 minutes to Newport Beach boat launch on Okanagan Lake. A scenic 25 minute drive has you enjoying the famous Shuswap Lakes.

Winter has you a 25 minute drive from the world famous Silver Star ski hill. Wineries, farmers markets, hiking, kayaking, all at your finger tips! A property the young and old will enjoy. Something for everyone.

Winter time has you 25 minutes from world famous SilverStar Ski resort. Want to have something to do and not leave home? Sled down the hills in your own back yard or build a snowman.

What makes this estate unique

As you meander through the gate down the long winding naturally treed driveway, you feel as if you are in a story book. Round the bend and see large lawns and the quaint Tudor home at the end of the lane. Lovely trees dot the yards. Its so private because the home is tucked into the hills, but when you go around to the front of the house it overlooks the pool and the surrounding valley. Truly enchanting.

Wonderful large family get away

  • 5 of 5

This was our second time at this beautiful estate and we have already booked our week for next summer. The house is spacious and accommodating for our large family, the pool and yard are awesome and beaches are 15 minutes away, golf course just down the street and the long driveway was a great race track for the bikes and go-kart. Shelley is an awesome host who is there when you need her, but otherwise is inconspicuous. An immaculate home and property!

Beautiful Okanogan Getaway

  • 5 of 5

My family and friends came out for a week getaway to beautiful British Columbia to celebrate an anniversary, play some golf and hit the beach. Shelley's house was absolutely perfect for our purposes. The pictures are all very representative of the home, including lots of living and sleeping spaces. Well stocked kitchen, natural gas bbq, very comfortable living spaces, lots of outdoor seating both in the patio area, around the pool, and extra chairs for around the portable the fire pit.

All of our activities were in and around Vernon, so there was a bit of commute involved (15 minutes to Vernon, 20 minutes to Kal Beach and golf courses (The Rise and Predator Ridge), 40 minutes to Lake Country, and close to an hour to Kelowna. That being said, with the large green space on the property, basketball net, trampoline (when we were there), and pool with sun chairs there was no real need to leave the property.

Shelley was very friendly, laid back, easy to communicate with, and extremely accommodating. 5 star host.

Would not hesitate to stay here again !!

Large country home perfect for our family 90th birthday celebration

  • 5 of 5

Our family stayed in this home for a family reunion to celebrate my Mom's 90th birthday. Shelley's home was perfect for our large group and we had a wonderful stay. There are 6 beds (1 King and the rest were all Queen) and all were very comfortable. Master suite with en suite is very spacious. Loads of towels available as well as pool towels. The kids loved the pool and were in it constantly; thanks for all the pool toys. The house is beautiful, large enough for everyone to have their own space and the grounds are lovely from the sweeping driveway entrance, to the pool surrounded by large cedar trees, the patio with a gazebo, and the lawn overlooking the picturesque valley. The kitchen was extremely well stocked -- lots of dishes, cutlery, glasses for large groups, as well as all the cookware and appliances you could want. There is even an extra fridge in the main floor laundry room for all the soft drinks, beer and copious amounts of wine picked up on our winery tour. Shelley and her husband couldn't have been more accommodating and helpful. Thanks so much for making our celebration so perfect. We hope to be back again.

Outstanding!

  • 5 of 5

This was our best ever vacation location! We had 4 adults, two seniors, two older teens and 3 kids under the age of 10. There was plenty of room for all of us and it met everyone's needs to play, cook, relax, swim, etc. The house and property was spotless (there was a man blowing every leaf off the incredibly long tree-lined driveway when we arrived). My kids couldn't believe they were staying in a "mansion" with their very own pool (which included multiple pool toys and floaties). The view was breath taking and the weather so beautiful each morning that a tea/coffee outside in our pj's to start each day was a must. It also had a huge BBQ and great outdoor eating space. A very spacious kitchen also meant that no one was tripping over each other when cooking meals or accessing snacks. The owners were very friendly and were ready to chat or get out of your way and leave you alone. They were also close by if anything was needed. I would highly recommend this property/house!!

Thanks so much from the Gordon's!!

Family vacation

  • 5 of 5

I cannot say enough about our stay at this property. If you are looking to enjoy everything Vernon has to offer, this is the place you want to be. Tucked away enough to give you the privacy you need with a breathtaking landscape. The house itself was very spacious and tidy and complete with everything you could possibly need. The homeowner was lovely and provided a line of communication to ensure we were enjoying our stay. This was a wonderful family vacation and the homeowner made sure it was effortless on our end. We vacationed with friends, family and small children, a good time was had by all. I would highly recommend this property to anyone looking to relax and feel pampered. I think once you are here you are hooked.
