Located on quiet Siltcoos Lake, you will feel surrounded by wilderness, while only being a quick six miles from downtown Florence.

The home will strike you as stunning from the minute you drive up its quiet, wooded driveway, and only more so once you step inside. With an open and spacious living area with a lot of windows, you can settle down on the leather furniture in front of the fireplace and enjoy cable or a movie on DVD or Blu-ray on the flatscreen TV, or stream something with WiFi. Of course, the outside may be calling, in which case you can relax or dine on the balcony to the cheerful sounds of wildlife all around, or fire up the gas grill for something tasty.

The kitchen is large and impressive, fully stocked with everything you'll need to cook for a big group, and sharing the same open space as the living and dining area, you'll always feel part of the action.

Downstairs, you'll find the Ping-Pong table in the garage, as well as a media room with another flatscreen TV, a game table, bunk beds (a twin-over-double), and a futon. There's also another bedroom down here with a queen bed, and access to the patio and hot tub outside.

Upstairs, you'll find two bedrooms with a queen bed each, sharing a full bath with double sinks and a large shower, as well as the laundry room and a private balcony with a porch swing. Up to 10 people will sleep comfortably here. This house is perfect for a family retreat or group of friends looking for some rest and a break from busy city life.

Just 50-yards from the house, the lake provides solitude, entertainment, and proximity to wildlife, such as birds, deer, and fish. Rivers and lakes nearby are stocked annually with salmon, trout, and bass, so there's possibility to catch your own meals. Just two-and-a-half miles away are the famous sand dunes which you can rent a dune buggy for, or race down on a sandboard. Head 11 miles north is Heceta Beach, which features tide pools and a hike to the historic Heceta Head Lighthouse. The town of Florence offers an array of eclectic beach shops and options for exquisite food as well.

If you are looking for a quiet, fun-filled vacation close to nature but still with the convenience of town nearby, look no further. You'll be talking about this for years to come!

About Vacasa, OR - Oregon Coast Office

Thanks for considering a Vacasa home! We provide full-service management for privately owned vacation homes, and like to think that we offer our guests the best of both worlds: the unique experience of staying in a one-of-a-kind vacation home, with the peace of mind that comes from knowing that the home you book for your special vacation is cared for by professional housekeepers and property managers.

Vacasa began in 2009, simply because our founder and CEO Eric wanted to find a better way to share his wifes family’s summer home in Long Beach, Washington with guests as a vacation rental. Eric and his early team worked to build Vacasa on the premise that local employees can do what they love most (taking care of guests, homeowners, and properties), while the hands-off tasks of vacation rental management—things like marketing, filing taxes, and maintaining a website—could be handled by a specialized central support team.

Our passion is connecting travelers with the unique experience of staying in a vacation home, and we would be honored to be your host. Please contact us with any questions about this home—our team is standing by!

Far house on the left!

Gorgeous house. Beautiful design. Amazing kitchen and living room den. Not to mention two beautiful decks to look into the trees and lake.

Each morning we were greeted by a family of deer who were just wandering the property grounds. The house is located in a great place that is not too far from the main highway that can take to town and further up the coast.

The house offers WIFI connectivity which was nice to log onto during our stay at the house however for the most part of our stay we did not have any cellular service which was great bc it kept us remote and allowed us to really enjoy our stay.

We went and rented a few atvs with Torex and they were just a great business to work with. The sand dunes are a place you cannot skip out on and worth every minute.

If we ever go back to Florence, this is the house to stay at.

LOVE this house

  • 5 of 5

We stayed here last year with our whole family and we even had a wedding out by the lake. This year we brought the whole family back for our one year anniversary. This home is beautiful, serene, and it is now a very special spot for our entire family. Hope to see you again next year.

Property Not As Advertised

  • 3 of 5

The setting is nice and the house, in general, is beautiful. The location also provided easy access to town and dunes related activities. However the property owner should reconsider the description of the home and amenities to be more truthful. Here are a few observations:

1. If you are looking to enjoy the gas fireplace (as advertised) don’t bother as it’s turned off. I read through another review where the property owner states they turn the gas off in summer. But it’s the Oregon coast for Pete’s sake … summer or not it gets chilly and foggy so please, leave the gas on.

2. If you are looking for a good night’s sleep you may find it difficult on one of the uncomfortable or incredibly squeaky beds; the bed in my room was just a mattress pushed up against the wall with no headboard. The downstairs bunk bed sounded like the one I had in boot camp.

3. If you are looking to enjoy the two kayaks (as advertised) don’t bother as one of them is “out of order”. Reading through previous reviews the property owner has had plenty of opportunity to resolve this issue.

4. The master bedroom is closed off to guests (not advertised). For the price, I would expect a master bedroom with a private bath.

5. A couple of the bathroom sinks are broken so they wouldn’t drain. After waiting a few hours for a call back, I was provided directions on how to access the drains and open them. They had been duct taped open and the duct tape had failed. Duct tape. Really? A shout-out to the gentleman that called me as he was kind and helpful.

6. One of the kitchen faucets is cracked and sprays water where it’s not wanted.

7. The comfortable (as advertised) sectional couch is … not comfortable at all.

As previously stated the setting is nice and the house is beautiful. However I am pretty disappointed with the property owner and the way they have advertised the place. They need to take care of some basic maintenance and if something isn’t right either fix it, replace it or don’t make the claim. It’s just that easy. My biggest disappointment was probably the kayak situation. My wife and I were really looking forward to spending some time on the lake but were not able to. Taping a note to a kayak that says “we apologize for the inconvenience” is not acceptable. As guests, my family kept up our end of the deal by following all of the rules and procedures. It would have been nice if the property owner had done the same. I will look elsewhere on my next visit to Florence.

Beautiful home, misrepresented kyacking

  • 3 of 5

The house is advertised as though you can easily kyack from the house, with the kayacks provided and with direct access to the lake. What is not told, is to get the kyack to the lake you have to go down a steep hill, climb over logs or navigate a steep bank to the water and that the kayaks are not sea worthy. We were not able to kyack from the house due to safety concerns loading the boats. I would not stay here again if I want to kyack. The house was nice.

Owner's Response: The winter storms washed up several logs that we have been unable to remove. We apologize for the inconvenience this is causing our guests.

Overall nice place, but bring your own water toys

  • 4 of 5

The location is beautiful, this is why I gave so many stars. The lake is spectacular in the sun even though you don't get the location that is on the main page from the house, you must hike down to the lake to get that. However the pictures do show how much of the lake you see from the house.

The restaurants in Florence are amazing, it's a quick drive. But also remote enough for you to enjoy the wildlife with a couple of deer families & owls.

Fridge water dispenser & Ice Maker were not working, bring your own ice if you need it.

Don't expect to get very good fishing from the lakeside, too many water lilies. But they are pretty. : )

3 queen sized beds with an additional bunk bed gives plenty sleeping room, dining room table sits 6 comfortably. There are 4 barchairs to go on the counter for additional eating and an outside dining area on the balcony (which could use some patching since there was substantial rust on the table top). The sofa sits maybe 4 with 1 chair. Not too comfortable though since the couch cushions sit on plywood.

The hot tub was a nice reprieve, albeit missing some parts. And the kayaks? Must be broken on a weekly basis, we saw one that was patched & leaked a little. The second we didn't even bother taking down because it had a gaping hole in the front. We did have a couple of tubes that we used instead.

In all, it is a beautiful relaxing location with wifi & TV for when the sun goes down. Great place to get away if you need a quiet location to work from. But we didn't! We slept so good at night and were awoken to the sound of an owl in the early morning. Need to change my alarm clock to sound like an owl, it was a great way to wake up!
